  1. I've heard a few people have cheesed the boss, but that's only the longer-range characters. So if you picked a close range DPS like I did...*shrug*. Hope the devs see this soon.
  2. Honestly, I'm shocked it's not listed in the "Known Bugs" thread even though I've A) seen multiple posts in the forums on this issue and B) seen multiple posts in that thread itself regarding this issue. It's kinda shocking.
  3. Basically what the title says. I'm on the Pub side, so I'm not exactly sure what the Imp experience is, but right now the Graug fight is unwinnable for me (key part is for me). The Horror of the Swarm debuff dismisses your companion, and your helper character disappears and doesn't return to the fight. This is, btw, content you need to beat in order to access the 7.0 expansion. Right now, I'm unable to do so. Would really appreciate it if a dev acknowledged they're aware of this since I'm not able to play the content I paid for.
  4. Adding on to this thread in hopes a dev spots this. Every time the Horror of the Swarm messes my character up, the companion disappears. Hitting Crtl+U twice confirms the companion is, essentially, dismissed. I can't beat the fight because I decided to be a squishy Scoundrel (whoops). I don't have the patience to rebuild my character from the ground up for this fight, and I'm most likely not returning to this game. Hope this gets fixed for others who want to play the new content.
  5. Just adding on here: Secrets of the Enclave has a major glitch on the first fight; when the "Horror of the Swarm" starts messing with your character, it auto-dismisses your companion and causes your side-kick to disappear as well. Can't access the new content because I haven't beaten this, so I'm stuck at this horrible fight. Really considering trying to fight for a refund and cancelling my subscription...
  6. Hey Keith, I don't post often, but I wanted to thank you for responding to and acknowledging the criticisms players bring forth. A lot of us are quite frustrated, but - as you said in a recent post - a lot of it comes from a passion for Star Wars. Even though I've walked away from subbing (I just don't have that much time to play now, sadly), I still keep tabs on the game & forums. I noticed since you've jumped on, Keith, you've been more communicative with the players. It's cool to see someone in your position discussing with the community. Even if the game might be in a phase right now where I don't feel too confident resubbing, I believe in where the game can go now with someone like you at the helm. I'm not giving up on this game, and I choose to believe in you guys. I'll probably not post much more, but I'll still be stalking the forums and updates. I don't really have any feedback that hasn't already been given by others (especially on IcyKill_'s Wall of Crazy forum here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=926471 ), so I don't want to take too much talking about that. I've been around since the beta, and I will always have a special place in my heart for SWTOR. I want this game to become a fantastic adventure once more, and I believe you guys are at least taking steps to bring it back there. I'll bee creeping around. Thanks again for dialoguing with us, Keith. Looking forward to seeing where the game goes! PS: I know a lot of this is directed more towards Keith, but I also want to give a separate shout out to Eric. You have a tough job taking on the brunt of our complaints and such, and you do an incredible job of it. :rak_03: PPS: In b4 "He's an EA employee trying to be one of us - burn him at the steak!"
  7. See, this is my sentiment exactly. Right freakin' here. I hold no ill will towards Bioware. While I might be disappointed and frustrated with the direction the game has taken, I wish nothing but the best for SWTOR and all their projects. More than perhaps any other company - publisher or developer - in gaming (bar Nintendo), I want them to succeed and be healthy. No matter how bad some of their games might get, too, I will always commit to pouring out as little toxicity as I can towards Eric, Charles, Ben, and the rest of the devs. At the same time, though, I can't just turn a blind eye to some patterns Bioware has developed with SWTOR. The over-commitment is real, and the all but open refusal to acknowledge when they've dropped the ball is discouraging. On a broader note (perhaps too broad for this forum), I've noticed the lack of communication with Bioware as a whole lately and not just the guys working on SWTOR. This has been particularly apparent when it comes to Mass Effect: Andromeda. Now, I'm not saying the devs owe us any sort of insider look into the product - they can keep their cards to their chest until launch day. It's just...a little harder to believe in 'em when all the info isn't out there, y'know?
  8. It does say a lot, doesn't it? To me, the KotFE story feels at its best moments a continuation of the Jedi Knight story (heck, look at the character used in ALL of the promos for KotFE - it's a Jedi Knight). All throughout the rest of KotFE, however, it feels more like someone read all the Bioware stories and wrote a Star Wars fanfic based off that. Granted, it feels like a very well written fanfic...but still - it doesn't feel like it fits Star Wars as a whole, let alone all the different character classes. I feel like this is nowhere more apparent than Bounty Hunters and Smugglers - both classes are very loosely aligned with their respective factions. They're more independent contractors, underground heroes/legends. Why would a smuggler wake up and say, "You know what? I want to lead an alliance to stop the big bad?" Doesn't feel right in my eyes.
  9. Holy crap, I did not expect this many people to respond. Hi. But yeah, I don't know what all else I should say, really. I wouldn't even know how to fix it because, as someone else stated earlier in the thread, Bioware bit off waaaaaay more than they could chew with some of this stuff. *shrug*
  10. (First actual post in forums - pls be gentle. Also, sorry about the essay). So, quick disclaimer - I could be completely wrong on this, and I'm no game dev. This is just my perception of what's happening based on what's going on both with the game and the industry surrounding it. Also, potential spoilers ahead Anywho, let's get started. -------------------------------------------------- I could give you guys a huge soliloquy about how I've been here since launch, but you've probably all seen enough of those. So I'll just go ahead and say my piece; I don't think we should expect companions - particularly the love interests - to return any time soon. Which is sad. I'm basing this off a few things: 1) Charles essentially said "no, you're not getting your comp back" on the previous live stream (Oct. 27th). His expression of regret from the stream tells me that they don't even have a solid plan to bring back the plethora of characters that are still not involved in the story. Now, I understand that making a game is hard; while I want all the companions to be back ASAP (Risha, where the heck are you?!), I don't want them back in a way that would specifically make me happy. Let Bioware write something out that'd make all of us somewhat satisfied. This kinda leads into my next point. 2) The story has no discernible path of progress from here. Blind guess here, but I'm assuming with all that we know that has been revealed (and as well keeping in mind both the title of the expansion and the Galactic Command system itself), we may be at a point where there's nowhere else to go with the story (if you catch my drift). Before 4.0, really, there was always a battle to fight - be it the Hutt Cartel, Revanites, or the opposing faction. Our character(s) always had a fight looming just over the horizon, some other big threat that could wreck them. With the upcoming expansion I don't see the possibility of some big-bad just over the horizon. In my opinion this makes it really hard to create a reason for companions to return because, story wise, our goals are accomplished (except for robbing the chancellor blind as a smuggler. C'MON BIOWARE HELP ME OUT HERE). Bioware would either have to write in yet another secret empire/organization/group that could come in outta nowhere and cause everyone to panic, or there'd have to be some sort of loss of power on our side. Either way, it won't be as simple as before to progress the story. 3) I've kinda talked about points just concerning the studio and the game itself, but I want to throw something out there that could also be another cause - the SAG-AFTRA strike. For those who don't know the voice acting union is now striking against several big name publishers for a whole host of reasons that might not be appropriate to discuss here (I don't want to take a side in the debate here - not the right place, in my mind). One of those publishers happens to be EA. So, with that said, union voice actors (i.e. the voices of most our companions if not all) are no longer working for EA until the strike ends. If I'm correct on my predictions as well, this strike would probably have to last a while to have any effect. When I look at these three key points - I can't help but feel that we're going to have to wait a good while to get our companions back. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if half of the MIA crew is still missing by this time next year. Add to that how some companions like Jaesa might have some...conditions based on what happened in the Sith class story, and Bioware has dug themselves into a pretty deep whole with this mess. Don't get me wrong - I want to like this game so much. I want a dev to come in here, dunk on my sorry self, and show me how wrong I am. I want to believe in SWTOR, and I would love to see some of the wonderful characters return...but looking at it from this viewpoint, I don't see it happening. I dunno...what are your thoughts, SWTOR-fam? Also, I've been here for five years and just now made a post...can't believe it took me this long.
