Download and install the latest drivers for your GPU.

My apologies for the incorrect info then. I've never been able to get it to work with a new MoBo and Processor before. Usually my drivers stay all hosed and it won't boot up to windows, just like happened here. Looks like a BIOS solution may have worked (one which I'll have to note for myself) for him, though.

If you have a windows install disc (you will need that, whether you got an ISO and burnt one or actually own one...if you don't have one but know someone who does, just get their disc...if you don't I don't know what to tell you), you can just put it in and boot. When the disc runs and asks to install...it should offer you a choice to format the HDD you choose to install to.

Did you format your HDD and re-install Windows? You cannot replace computer parts like that (Motherboard, Processor) and not re-install windows. If you haven't reformatted and re-installed Windows, the OS is still looking for your old parts and won't be compatible. TL;DR: Reformat and re-install windows.

I'm indifferent to the changes of the GCD on the UI. Doesn't affect me in the least. It is bright, but I think it helps me notice when my GCD is up, even when not staring directly at the bars. Lots of QQ on the forum though... EDIT: Reading one of the above posts, I agree that an opacity slider for the GCD pulse may be a good way to go. Will get rid of the whining of a VERY vocal minority and will give more customization to the UI, which IMO is sorely needed.
