  1. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#300.1 I believe this accurately represents a mercenary compliment. I believe that the damage is scaled for the dual wield and single. More testing is required.
  2. Trust me testing is ongoing and if I have any new results I will make sure to post them
  3. This build was made to give you the best of both worlds. It has the same capabilities in PvE as it does in PvP no more deciding which type of play you want to engage in. You can have it all.
  4. As other posters have pointed out this is the MOST heat efficient build there is. Other skills woven into the very specific rotation will cause you heat problems and this should be avoided.
  5. This build uses an extremely simple rotation, just rapid shots. I don't have a PvP video but I may work on that this weekend.
  6. This build preforms identically in both PvE and PvP, and best of all you can really get a feel for this specs playstyle immediately. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301.1
  7. This may not have been as clear as I intended. I do want to run operations. I just don't have the luxury of having open weeknights every week to spend several hours running them. Endgame PvE content has always been my favorite part of MMOs.
  8. First off I want to say this is not a thread complaining about the game. I enjoy playing thoroughly. Right now I am leveling my first character, a bounty hunter at level 40, I am really having fun with the story. I am looking forward to playing a character of each class to see their stories unfold as well, I know there will be repeated quests that are not class specific, but I think thats a small price to pay to enjoy the class story. The problem I see is that I don't think there is much in endgame content to keep me around after I'm finished the stories. I'm not threatening to unsubscribe, I dearly hope that this game succeeds and I find some thing to enjoy at 50. I have never been a big PvPer, although I do enjoy it from time to time, it's not enough to keep my interest in the long run. I enjoy the space combat very much, but I also don't see that being something that keeps my interest long term. I have enjoyed the crafting "mini-game" in other MMOs, but it seems to be that crafting in this game is very labor intensive and every crafter is fighting over a very small number of small margin niche markets available to only a few professions. Lastly operations, I would love to see the high level PvE content as that is my favorite part of MMOs. I, however, do not have the luxury of committing 2-3 full weeknights every week to sitting in front of the computer, as most guilds I've seen are requiring. I'm hoping I can find an activity that keeps the game fun for me. A huge bonus would be short operations that could be completed in just an hour or two, but I'm no game designer and that could be detrimental. Thanks to all of you who have read this and I welcome any end game recommendations. especially if you have a casual guild looking for a powertech for endgame content TL;DNR I want to find something that keeps my interest at endgame, and I want suggestions. Not looking for PvP all the time and can't commit the time to operations. (edit: changed formatting as the original resulted in an unintended wall of text)
  9. I don't do much PvPing, but I use grapple all the time while questing, and I have never had it miss. So i don't believe they have changed it as a whole. Whether or not it has been changed for PvP I can't comment on.
  10. I've never been much of a roleplayer, but I have dabbled in it. From what I understand there are certain "rules" to good role play. One of which being you shouldn't try to roleplay a character that is too powerful or has been too influential on the lore, "godmode" so to speak. My question then is do you roleplayers largely ignore the character stories? I mean it would be kind of difficult to not play a "godmode" character if the character story was part of your roleplay, wouldn't it?
  11. Thats what I've been doing with no luck on any schematics. I was hoping someone knew for sure so i wouldn't spend too much time on one or the other
  12. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what level of slicing mission will give schematic: custom built speederbike http://www.torhead.com/item/ajq3IWB I realize the comments say they got it from a grade 4 lock box mission but all those missions have yeilded for me was the custom built hover bike. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I was wondering how the yield ranks were ordered. i mean the ones shown in game like bountiful, abundant and rich. Aynyone know?
  14. I guess we should do away with missions and lootable mobs too. Everyone points to creating money from thin air and never points to money leaving the economy entirely from npc merchants and trainers. Also mission skills needed to craft remove a good percentage of credits from the game entirely. Slicing just helps off set that. If money only left the economy permanently but wasn't created that would be worse for the economy.
  15. The best skills in my mind are the ones you will like most. I picked cybertech and it's gathering skills (I have since dropped Underworld trading for slicing until end game since it's not needed to level cybertech just for blue and purple recipes) I'm liking it so far.
  16. They had a match color to chest option which as the name implies matched all your gear to the chest color. this was not a true re-coloring option as you are looking for. they took it out of the game because it made everyone with a particular chest piece look more or less the same as there is little variation in pants boots etc. with in a class. there is a post somewhere stating they are working on re-implementing it to make it a better system
  17. A category of AI units would be just fine for me, or even change the name to dedication or loyalty or compatibility programming. I'm just looking for a way to be able to earn my way up to the most efficient crafting or mission running with a companion who is designed to do nothing else.
  18. I know it's probably been said a lot but I look forward to server transfers. I started in early access and picked a standard population server as there were no low population that i saw at the time. A few days after It is full consistently. I would like to play on a less populated server but don't wish to lose the levels I've gained. This would not be as much of an issue, but I also noticed the first time I received a queue that new servers had been opened that I had no choice to use during character creation. It is extremely frustrating that, after committing to buy the game before release, none of us were allowed to select from all of the servers that were intended to be up for the games release causing preorder customers to be stuck on full servers. I sincerely hope that this is remedied soon, as I do enjoy playing the game very much. It's less enjoyable sitting in a queue for a large chunk of the limited time I have to play.
  19. I would like to see the ship drops be able to gain affection again. I'm not sure why this was removed, I can't see that it broke game play. Being as the biggest thing that affection does to my knowledge is speed up crew skills and increase crit for them, and he really doesn't do anything but crew skills, why give us no option to increase it? I'm not asking for anything free, just the ability to do the same as I would with other companions.

    Mvp

Thus is probably a simple question, but I only dabble in pvp. How can you find out if you got any mvp votes in a match? What do they do for you?
  21. That's what I thought, thats been the last dozen or so for me. Slicing ruins the economy my ***
