First, these aren't hotfixes. Hotfixes are changes made to the program while the program is running. Since they had to bring the servers down, patch your client, patch the servers, this is a 'patch'. Whether you think the fixes are anything special or not is irrelevant. Downtime maintenance isn't just for patches, it's for server maintenance, defragging, running system tests to ensure the hardware is running well, that sort of thing. And yes, WoW does this sort of thing most weeks. Some weeks they skip it because A: they've developed the program to such a degree that they don't need to run maintenance nearly as often, and B: they can hotfix a lot more stuff now than they could when they launched. When they launched WoW, they couldn't hotfix ANYTHING. Oh, and guess what? WoW does their maintenance on tuesday, right about the same time Swtor does too! Imagine that!

Right now, the companion quest is bugged in that if you choose the dark side flirt option you won't get any more conversations with kira. The devs have already fixed it internally so we should see it in the next patch. For now, if you want to go ahead with the romance arc, my advice would be to avoid any dark side flirt options. There will be non dark side options in the conversations. Unless of course you really want to go dark side and see if there's any difference... I suspect there isn't a whole lot of difference in the romance whether LS or DS.

at the bottom left corner of the screen is a circle. that's your companion portrait. right click on him and select 'dismiss companion'. Then double click the portrait to summon him again. If double click doesn't work, right click and select 'summon companion' ought to work too.

It is achievable. I achieved it. A lot of other people achieved it. What you're really saying is 'it's too hard.' I think if people are upset over the difficulty of this boss, they will be absolutely shocked by the difficulty of later bosses. Just sayin'. Learning how to play is not reserved for the elite. It's something anyone can do, and everyone should do. I played WoW for 7 years, and one thing I really noticed is the sheer number of level capped people running dungeons and heroics who had absolutely NO IDEA how to play their class, like, at all. This was because there was no challenge during the leveling process, no hair-thin fights they were forced to solo, nothing to force them to learn the mechanics of their class. Absent the consequence of not learning, most people won't bother to learn. In this case, the consequence is no progress in the class quest line, probably not till you out level the encounter. Hopefully, this will encourage more people to start mastering their class.

I don't know... I can't help but wonder if this is intentional. That flirt option is dark side for a reason, your character making advances at that point in the story is really inappropriate considering the things going on at the moment. Remember that Kira is light side, and is very much anti-sith anti-dark side. So maybe 'dark side flirt = bad?' I skipped the dark side flirt option and the romance is progressing just fine.
