  1. It is too late now for a change to the trinity. They built their game around it. To change now would take a ton of testing and balance. A total NGE for the combat system. It never works.
  2. So do they only get to choose the dual spec once and then that is what they get, or is it that they get to choose whatever they want to dual spec into multiple times? For instance; Will he get to choose tank/dps and then a couple of days later rework that and choose pve/pvp, Then a few hours later swap back to tank/dps? Ad infintum? Or will they get to choose once and that is the end of it?
  3. Yea that would take a whole new topic. Something to the effect of 'what constitutes a life'. Is the guy with more to do outside the one with a better life than say, the guy who stays indoors more with his life? Like, say the carpenter has MORE of a life than the guy who works in an office? Is the guy who is tied down by a wife, kids and a 60 hour a week job to make the ends meet better than the guy who is a bachelor shagging tons of women, has no kids and makes twice as much money only working 30 hrs a week? It is quite a question and one I am sure most of these guys that fling around such terms couldn't answer themselves. It would need a whole new thread and then, I doubt if we could ever figure it out.
  4. No reason for an AC change if they just change the classes to fit a dual spec game.
  5. So you are saying that if every class had 3 trees devoted to only one role. People would have been for the dual spec option?
  6. So would you play a healer only class in a dual spec game where other classes get to choose between say, healer AND dps? -Why would you expect them to?
  7. No. They did NOT know this game was going to be a dual spec game and allow them to change between roles on the fly. This game currently frowns upon dual speccing. That is why the vendor price increases each time you respec at the moment. That is why there is NO dual spec option in the game at the moment. When you are supposed to only play one role, many go with the main role they would like to keep at most times. It is this way in every single spec game. once this game changes it to dual spec, they MUST make changes so all can use the dual spec for what it is intended. Changing combat roles dependent on the group structure and needs.
  8. Yup. It was like last week, or before, that a dev confirmed it.
  9. So you will be okay with them just allowing a dual spec on one tree, right? Say swapping heal builds for example? PvP or PvE healer for example? This is fine by you and would make the dual spec option viable?
  10. In a DPS only class the same spec is used for pve AND pvp. DPS is DPS in either realm of play. There is no benefit with the up coming dual spec changes for these classes. So something MUST be done.
  11. They are just going to have to change the 'Single spec classes' is all. You chose marauder in a single spec game. They are changing it to a dual spec game. So of course they will have to retro design to acomodate the players that went by the original rules and chose accordingly with the current parameters. I am personally hoping they do not make the DPS only classes the best at DPS and instead add either a healing or tanking tree for compensation. That way we can utilize the dual spec like all the rest without having to re-roll like they did not want to re-roll.
  12. I don't think time has anything to do with it. If after you get home from that 10 hour shift at the mill, get the kids fed and put to bed. Make sure yer wife is happy before she knocks off. Finish your chores. Then take the 2 hours you have for the whole week and spend it on a game treating it as your hobby... forgoing anything else that comes up because you have set time aside to specifically pursue such a hobby. You are hardcore. If on the other hand you have time to play the game but ANYTHING else should come up, and you drop the game to do that instead. Not caring to play or not to play in any given time frame... Regard it as a past time that is there when NOTHING else is available... you are casual.
  13. I was thinking more of that rabid fan that thinks the team sucks but goes to every game. Or, at least watches them and yells at the television set.
  14. You are talking about football, right? Those guys are crazy...
  15. Casual and hardcore does not have to be terms that are derogatory. The sooner you look at it like such, the easier it will be to boil down the terms and look at them un-jaded as they stand upon their own for true meaning. I think the OP is asking about opinions to guage base definitions. Not to make one or the other be the insult to another... you must remove yourself from the equation and shake it out un-biased to truly see the main derivative.
