  1. I don't think it can be called overreacting when you are given a god npc for a month and have it suddenly taken away without warning. And no, a BioWare post the day before the patch doesn't count as a warning.
  2. Yea it really does. Seeing a whole lot of new faces coming out to complain about the patch.
  3. It is entirely possible BioWare didn't listen to the players at all, complaining or otherwise. It just took them a month of deep concentration and focus (so much they couldn't even spare the time to let us know!) to "fix" companions into what they are now. I mean, it's possible.
  4. eh not to this level, I guess you could say they're getting better at screwing things up?
  5. I agree it seems like there was no real QA involved in the combat part of the expansion. Given how much they nerfed companions it's clear the launch was nowhere near their design intent. So why is that?
  6. If you make it a toggle you might as well turn it off. The average player will always take the path of least resistance.
  7. I really didn't. I know a lot of people assumed it would, but after weeks with nothing I was under the assumption this was 'the new SWTOR'. Boy was I wrong. And that's what bothers me, why do I feel like a chump for not reading BioWare's mind? I shouldn't. I'm also really bugged by the fact that it wasn't until the nerf was datamined that we got an official post...the day before the patch. It's like someone was trying to do a CYA, but just made the issue worse.
  8. And that might help some. But the core thing (I think) is really the lack of communication and sudden removal of power. That isn't going to be forgotten, or band-aided over with a compromise. At least, that is what bothers me in the ordeal at any rate. As someone that liked the companions as they were 4.0 but isn't going to quit over the current environment. I really dislike the way they handled this.
  9. The give and take away is the most damaging. It isn't the nerf itself, it's experiencing the game with godly companions in the first place. At this point they only really have two options, undo it and keep all those people who came in with the expac and were used to the ease, or leave things as they are/try to 'compromise' and keep the oldtimers that were here all along. I have a feeling I know exactly what they will do, and oddly it won't be the one that helps their bottom line the most
  10. Yea it really was. I got my hopes up so much for GSF because of that.
  11. Which of course, subsequently broke all records. Hence our confusion.
  12. Initially yea. Jedi also wore armor and their lightsabers hit like nerf bats. It wasn't really that fun being a jedi other than showing off your force powers to run really fast away from bounty hunters
  13. What? I loved SWG as much as anyone else, but let us not try to rewrite history here. Maybe you're getting the movie confused with the game?
  14. Context is key, really. Nobody said you're new to the internet. You've got the rambling lunatic stage down pat.
  15. Slow claps are usually sarcastic Yea until this is done, their 'intent' will always fall way short of reality.
  16. Honestly it's common sense, regardless of what BioWare has said. If you're going to pay more than $15 a month, you're going to subscribe. There's no way the average free to play player is going to pay more than the average subscriber on the CM.
  17. You are certainly free to believe whatever you want to believe. It might make you look a bit crazy around here where some things are common knowledge. I know you're new, but hopefully you'll get over that.
  18. BioWare has said themselves the majority of CM purchases come from subscribers. And no, I'm not going to go rooting for the quote, you can find it yourself I'm sure.
  19. heh ignorance is bliss I suppose the game would look pretty good for people just coming in now still. It is still better than pre-4.0 in most areas.
  20. They should probably take away all the titles from people that did it before, then. Like mine
  21. Lines up with the poll someone threw up prior to the change asking if people felt they were OP or whatever. About 70% were happy with companions.
  22. Quesh. Now THAT's a toxic atmosphere.
  23. hm for the marketplace, I think unreasonable is probably correct. I don't know of any MMO out there (least none I've played) that offers challenging solo content as an endgame activity. That's always when it becomes very group focused. But if you find the current environment challenging, I guess it's good to be you
