[[Please Nerf] Commandos are getting out of hand...]

I'm getting my *** handed to me in warzones if I try to take on multiple people at the same time.

 

Of course those people are smartly using interrupts and locking me down so I can't cast (or do much at all).

 

That might be the OP's problem. If you run in spamming the default attack, a commando will wipe the floor with you.

Going to need a working combat log and parses before anyone can address this topic seriously. Right now: wild speculation based on anecdotes. Not remotely scientific.

Yea with the "one stat" thing you won't have a problem doing damage at all. So glad they changed to that in one of the beta phases, before you actually had to choose your stats based on damage or healing.

I'm not sure what the hesitancy of using a gun up close is. Certainly if it's because of the old 'wow dead zone' with hunters I could understand some of it I guess, but this is a totally different game. Your weapon isn't any less effective right up in someone's grill, and technically given the skillset it's MORE effective in this game.

 

I think some people assumed gun meant 'ranged tank' when this class has never actually worked that way in practice (at least not since April when I joined beta). You CAN use many of your abilities at longer range and hold some threat that way, but the core abilities you have to tank are short range and have always been such.

When I was in beta slicing was THE way, basically. It was like finding treasure chests full of cash, constantly.

Given PVP sets are the best for survive-ability, I make use of a good mix of PVP weapons and crafted armor.

 

That's a good point, is expertise at all on mods yet in the game? I know it wasn't in beta, which was a pretty big turnoff (forcing you to use pvp sets to pvp well).

Healing Trooper will be my main come Early access as it's a riot. Even better with the Tank companion

Armormech, scavenging, and underworld trading. I like being able to create all my armor.

 

I'll be doing this as well, additionally because underworld gets access to all the extra unique outfit schematics so it will be profitable/popular.

I am going split gunnery/CM for mostly PvP/soloing storyline quests. From the beta streams I watched of L50 commandos split specs are awesome with this class.

Yes contrary to some people's beliefs hybrid specs are very very good in this game, class depending.

I'll be doing a hybrid (Combat Medic/Gunnery) myself with Gravity Surge and Trauma Probe as the high points in each tree.
