  1. There is an obvious wave of anger/frustration going throughout the SWTOR community in regards to having yet another wave of name changes forced upon us. I myself had to change my main character's name back in the June server hop (I know it was voluntary and understand the reasoning behind allowing people on the origin server to keep their names and forcing those who transferred to change theirs. I get it. I don't like it, but it is understandable). This recent forced server hop and forcing people to change their names, some a second time, is inexcusable. Poor customer service responses and a lack of a solid 'in your face' explanation of the factors in which we are forced to change our names has only fueled the communities outrage. I love this game. I love the people I play with. I love the stories, the combat, the flashpoints, the operations, and otherwise just a general love of this game. I also love my character's names. That being said I offer a solution to this problem that is otherwise plaguing our community. Instead of first names being 'unique'; how about keeping a unique legacy name instead? Similar to the name@accountname system that City of Heroes (may it rest in peace) and Champions Online (I don't know of any other MMOs that used that system). This would allow players to keep their original names. It also makes more sense in a RP fashion as well. Let's be honest, there have got to be plenty of 'John', 'Betty', and 'Felipe' in the galaxy. But they wouldn't have the same legacy/family tree as anyone else. So Bioware, please look at this. Keep our Legacy names unique and let us have whatever first name we want. It really shouldn't be a huge code fix from a technical perspective. Thank you.
  2. I think this is a great idea! What would really be cool is if they could include every player in the same space instance and then have each person have their own objectives. Maybe have tanks work on downing shield generators. DPS is responsible for downing enemy fighters. Heals takes down turrets. Something like that. Bioware... Get on it!
  3. Oh sweet! I did not know this! Thanks! I think another week would be awesome.
  4. I personally love events like this. My only complaint is that it is too short! Only one week to gather enough DNA for cool pets and awesome looking color crystals? Please extend this event for at least another week. Us working folk tend to have limited play time and really can't sit around waiting for the plague to kill us and generate more DNA.** Does anyone else agree with me?* *Note: If you don't agree, please don't reply to this post. This is for people who would like to see this awesome event extended. **Note: If you know a faster way to generate/obtain DNA (minus purchasing from other players) please share.
  5. YAY!!!! I have something interesting to read while at work! Thanks Dulfy!
  6. Our guild has been having a similar problem with both HM EV and HM KP. We will set the difficulty to HM and when we go in and start clearing trash we realize it is set to Normal difficulty. The first time we noticed the issue was on Tuesday when we went into HM EV, downed the first boss and got Normal mode loot. We tried exiting and resetting, same problem. Then it happened again Thursday night with KP, but we were able to run HM EV. Not sure what the deal is. It didn't seem like anyone else on our server was having the same issue so we are completely in the dark on what the deuce is going on with Ops difficulty.
  7. Hey thanks all! We just ran Hard Mode EV last night. We were able to clear our way to the Council part and then had to stop for the night. You guys were right, the first boss was our gear check. It took us a couple tries, but we downed him on the third attempt. Same with the lava boss. Though we were able to beat the enrage timers. Pylon was a cake walk when it didn't bug. All in all it was a successful run. Our DPS got some major upgrades and it was a good learning experience. Can't wait to finish it up over the weekend. Thanks again for the advice!
  8. Are we going to see more Character Slots per Server pre or post 1.2 to accommodate some of the new Legacy system options/features?
  9. Not sure if there is a post for this topic yet or not. I haven't seen one myself, but I may not be going back far enough. That said; What gear is recommended for Hard Mode/Nightmare Operations? My guild has cleared both EV and KP on normal with only the Heavy Fabricator boss providing any real trouble. But what should we all be wearing? All Columi, no questions asked? Will some in Tionese and some in Columi matter? My assumption is that our tanks and healers should be in full Columi or higher, and dps Tionese and higher. Any advice/opinions would be welcome. Thanks!
  10. From a casual player perspective I don't understand all the hate. I leveled quickly. Probably within 3 weeks of launch. I had a blast. Between the story line, space missions, flashpoints and PvP I was never bored. I'm 50 now, and still having fun. I'm not in a big guild, but I can still pug a HM without too much of a wait. IMO, the PvP feels the same as it did in WoW. Though I'd like to see an AV style Warzone. I haven't come across any of the 'bugs' people are complaining about. Well except for that one on Ilum with the shipment, but that has been fixed. I dunno. Maybe ya'll are taking this too seriously or feel like you are entitled to a 'perfect game that meets all of your expectations'. Fact is, it takes time for MMO's to become great. I'd say SWTOR has a pretty good head start. Honestly, if you don't like it then cancel your subscription, get off the forums, and do something else. But that is just my two cents.
  11. What does the future hold for Space Combat? Will we see group missions? Space FPs/Ops?
