  1. This is actually the only change announced so far that I agree with. Respecing inside war zones is ridiculous because you end up in scenarios where people go all DPS for offense on Voidstar and then all go healing and tank for defense. I used to think that was a myth until I saw it myself a few times.
  2. I do not like the idea of being forced into arenas. I enjoy Warzones. Why force me into arenas? When the WoW devs tried to shoehorn people into arenas it didn't work out too well and they eventually had to back off of it the following year. It seems to me Arenas are really just a bandaid fix for not linking the servers together for cross-realm queues. How long is that gonna last? I know one of your goals by grouping arenas and warzones together is to make queue times faster, but all you're going to do is alienate people after they get destroyed in the arena. Bad players can hide or be carried in a warzone, but on a 4 person team they will be ostracized. And what of guilds that have been running 8 man teams for months or even a year now? You're just going to tell them too bad? Most people don't like facing their own faction in warzones. Now they will be facing each other even more often. I'm on a pvp server with a dying population and I'm skeptical that this will do anything to help with that. Many people have already transferred to Baston or POT5. (btw; transfers another really bad idea, way to kill servers) TLDR: This is a bandaid fix to cover for not implementing cross-realm queues, and if cross-realm queues aren't even on the drawing board you're making a big mistake
  3. Is this a serious thread? I mean really? Of course there will be new gear. Are you new to MMOs? I've equipped 13 toons with full Partisan and 2 with Conq. I'm looking forward to a new tier. If this game seems like a chore to you then MMOs probably aren't meant for you.
  4. Unlike the kids today, I prefer for my villains to be without remorse. I don't care for this business of humanizing villains or making them sympathetic. Leave that to the anti-heroes. Enough of us go through that in our daily lives already. I don't need to see the redeeming qualifies of my villains. They should have none. A good villain also isn't a dumb villain. Villains should be similar to sociopaths in that they are often brilliant.
  5. I don't really care. I will continue to hate Civil War, regardless. It's just so boring. It's boring even if you're winning. In fact it may be MORE boring when you're winning because you're left standing around a lot waiting while the losing team is launching attacks. They could remove the map from rotation completely and I wouldn't miss it. Huttball is king. There's no standing around waiting bored.
  6. Call me crazy but I prefer lightning. Madness may be easier (read: mindless), sure, but I don't care about that. Lightning is more fun in that it presents higher risks but also higher rewards. When procs happen in your favor you can melt someone quicker than anyone else, and from a distance. If I want to play it safe ill switch to my commando or operative. And another thing is I find madness leaves you perpetually force-starved, while I almost never have to worry about force as Lightning unless I've been forced to heal myself an abnormal amount.
  7. Do not wear recruit or any item with expertise unless it is partisan. Do not equip old relics with expertise on them. If you do either of those things, your damage, hp, and other stats will suffer. Go in with your PVE gear. You will be bolstered.
  8. This is such a horrible idea that will make queue times for regular warzones even longer than they already are. They need to get off their *** and implement cross-server queues to fix all these problems in one swoop. Adding.... get ready for a rollercoaster of nerfs and buffs as arenas complicate everything.
  9. Shadow/Assassin > Powertech/Vanguard > Juggernaut/Gaurdian I would say Powertech but the truth is Assassin tanks are just way too survivable. I'd put Juggernauts and Guardians in last place because they're a lot more vulnerable on their own than the other 2 are. It's fairly easy to control them while the others are slippery. Mobility is very important.
  10. Your spec is very confusing to me. You skip clairvoyant strike for force in balance?
  11. I don't want to start another "healer OP" thread, because I don't consider 1 or 2 healers to be OP. However.... There is absolutely nothing fun about being in a warzone facing off against 4 or even 5 healers. And that is increasingly the case lately. When you have 3 to 5 healers, no one dies. No one does much damage. No one even blinks. Everyone just stands around bubbling, jumping around, and interrupting caps. You end the warzone with maybe 4 or 5 total kills if you're lucky. And that's after a solid 10 to 15 minutes of non-stop combat. Most of the time you won't even drop someone below 70% health. And I'm not talking about premades. It's the same whether its pug vs pug or premade vs premade. There's simply too many healers now, and there's too many because its just too easy when there's multiple healers. So easy, in fact, that you needn't even do much other than stand in one place because the other 2-3 healers will fill you up if you get focused. This creates an environment that is so mind-numbing it makes me not even want to play anymore. Whether you're a dps, a tank, or another healer, it's stupefying. I don't know what the solution is other than maybe drop AOE and instant healing down a notch. I've been in a few warzones lately where the healers didn't even bother to cast anything other than AOEs and instants. After you get 3 healers doing this you reach a critical mass where health pools don't even fluctuate much. I hate to say it but combat right now feels like older WoW pvp when spamming flash heals kept people topped off at all times.
  12. I have to disagree that a lethality OP cannot take down a healer. In fact, I have 10 lvl55s and I'd say that, out of all of them, my lethality OP is better equipped than most to take down a healer because virtually everything you do is instant-cast and you're incredibly bursty. This catches healers off guard.
  13. No, one couldn't. Arena had nothing to do with subs. The explosion of subs was from making dungeons and raids easy and accessible with 'Lich King.
  14. Arenas ruined pvp in WoW and lead to the creation of different sub-classes of players and made it even harder to balance. Do you really want to create a culture where certain specializations and maybe even entire classes are seen as worthless because they don't play will in an Arena compared to a Warzone? Please stop asking for them here.
  15. I consider it to be an exploit, and on my server both sides can be seen using it.
  16. I noticed you rarely use Unload even when you have a proc up. Is there a reason for that?
  17. Augmentation kits and augments do not cost me anything as I craft them all myself. The only thing that I have to pay for is the installation of a kit which is 36,000. Granted, it's time consuming to craft that much yourself, but the price of crew missions is negligible compared to buying all the kits and augments.
  18. The Sith Warrior storyline is awesome from start to finish. You are an unstoppable ******. You are the terminator. That's the only class I can say that for, and I've played all of them. Some are better than others during Act2, but personally I would say the weakest Act2 was the Trooper. I mean I have 2 50 troopers and Act 2 was forgettable both times. I don't even remember what happened.
  19. Glad you will allow us to change species. I was just thinking last night all of my character slots are occupied and if any new species are added I wouldn't be able to create one.
  20. I have four level 50s now and out of those four I believe the Sith Warrior had the best story line beyond any doubt. Act 1 was amazing and the final Act was also very good, becoming the emperor's wrath and having the ultimate authority behind you.
  21. I've been a subscriber for many months, but I just logged in today for the first time in a while for obvious reasons. Imagine my dismay when I logged in and found out that some of my characters have been given a forced name change even though they didn't switch servers. I realize that because of server mergers, some name changing is required, however for a character that did -not- move servers this is, to say the least, annoying. Can anyone tell me under what circumstances a character that did not move servers would have to rename? Does an incoming character take precedent if they are higher level?
