  1. You're welcome! And well. I guess some web designer thought this was a good choice and that fellow was obviously dead wrong.
  2. Turn down screen resolution. Worked for me until my PC went up in smoke. True, though it is even larger on the Bioware Social forum if you would believe that. The fact I have to scroll down a whole page(!) to view all the threads does annoy me a little.
  3. Me too. Especially the whole 'community news' at the forum section menu.
  4. Not really a "fashion emergency", simply a case of not wanting to carry the dye kits around. I do not want to carry my mats for crafting around either. I usually throw everything I do not need into the bank. Except that this claim is complete and utter hyperbole.
  5. Think you mean 'proverb'. And I agree it is brilliant.
  6. I got some that look alike on purpose because they are the "same" character. Else they are mostly different.
  7. So long you can use them while they are in the bank, I am fine with it. I just want it to be viable on the fly and not take up bag space.
  8. Just add an appearance tab. Orange gear is a square wheel. It might be a wheel, but it does not do its job of it very well.
  9. Sure, but perhaps the ability to change the colour of your gear on the fly via the menu in the character screen would be nice too!
  10. No it will have every model, not every colour scheme. Use your head, make a reasonable assumption that people do not wish to spend half of their total playtime doing dailies. And "It is more complicated than need be." is a true statement - it is not an opinion, it is a fact. If this was a boolean, it would come out true if the comparison was between orange gear and an appearance tab. No it is not false. If you want to have appearance customization then non-orange gear has no point. It is a waste of data. So you see improvement as: - More time consuming - More complicated - Offers less customization options I can see why we part in this as I find that improvement is the exact opposite of these. And no it is not a more integrated system than an appearance tab would be, I am sorry, but using that term for "bad design" is just laughable. Oh, but I have. Your name just suits your stance extremely well in this situation.
  11. No because instead of just having an orange of each model, you would have every model and colour scheme at your disposal. Not viable. It's not an opinion, it is fact. Orange gear has more steps to carry out thus it is more complicated. The argument is sound as all other gear does not hold the ability to function as appearance customization, and orange gear still has the unique advantage of work as stat customization gear. It is not the "progression" of appearance tabs if it does not improve upon it. Orange gear fails to improve upon it, thus it cannot be a progression of it. This is more akin to technology going lost like in the dark middle age. Orange gear works as stat customization, it does not work as appearance customization. They are two very different things.
  12. Because: - Lack of colour variations. What if I wanted a certain chest piece in black instead of white? - Extreme money sink in upgrades / appearance change leads to changing appearance according to where you are is not really a viable choice and defeats part of the reason for appearance customization. You might want a more warm appearance on Hoth or Ilum, where a place like Tatooine calls for lighter gear. The ability to change the look of your character to the situation is very empowering to the storytelling of the game. - It is more complicated than need be, in a thing such as customizing the look of your gear a simple solution is preferable to a complicated one (orange gear requires steps that are ultimately unnecessary). - It defeats the purpose of non-orange gear. Yes a lot of these things could be solved with further development on the orange gear (grant the ability to actually modify the appearance of the orange on the fly to another orange you own, and free change of the colour), but I find it is not just easier for the players in general, but Bioware to simply implement an appearance tab. It saves everyone a lot of hassle instead of swearing to a feature that tries to a be wheel but really is just a square block of stone.
  13. That'll still not make a square wheel round.
  14. I know that was important... but... the cantina band has another song?!
  15. That, other ranks and currency too please.
  16. We certainly need it, orange armour does not make for proper appearance customization. It's the difference between a crappy sword made out of bronze and a masterly forged steel sword.
  17. I do not think they ever stop attacking you if you go within their aggro range. However their aggro range gets really small when you are 15+ levels above the mob.
  18. You can say the exact same thing about orange slots, except it is just a pain in the *** to use as appearance customization. When you have collected a set you like, what then? It's too expensive to go switching the mods all the time so you are stuck with one look, and thus very likely have little interest in the new sets anyway. What you describe is a thing coming from appearance customization itself, not how "easy" it is to use the feature. I would dare say that appearance slots would actually increase interest in the looks of the new sets because you can change your appearance on the fly, thus it is viable to have more sets with you - it's not if the system is unnecessarily complicated for what it hopes to achieve (and expensive).
  19. Well. These forums - believe it or not - are a lot more clean than the forums in WoW. Of course WoW has a larger influx of players, but they also have more forums to keep track of with less people (I think). I actually think Bioware does a good job on the forums in general... We just need server forums. Personally I think it was a business decision gone wrong. They do not want to spend money on server forums because they do not see the use for it. As a result of that, a lack of global LFG and low populations servers crash and burn. It reflects on the forums. But I am just speculating(talking out of my arse), so hey.
  20. I picked Vette. She is super-duper cute.
  21. Same-server LFG tool. Global LFG channel. Server forums. Appearance tab. Unify colours expanded to companions and allowing player to pick whatever colour he/she likes. Removal of credit cost from legacy features, make legacy levels give you legacy points instead. Money is still an option as payment, no longer a requirement. Ability to use more than one kind of weapon (smugglers with rifles or sniper rifles). Legacy feature to switch skill-set to the mirror of the opposing faction - Trooper Vanguard to Powertech for example. Legacy feature to have your own characters as companions. Companions can change skill sets and roles (Dorne can tank, or Corso can heal). Scale rewards to player level and player to the planet (for example you will get scaled down to level 16 on Dromund Kaas if you are 50, but you can complete the quests and get level 50 monetary rewards + legacy experience for it). A storyline with space combat! ... That's about what I can think of.
  22. Some of the features that would have been perfect for casuals were somehow put into the game in a way that they will be mostly inaccessible to them in the long run (legacy, appearance customization, etc.). That's what I think mostly puts Rift and WoW above SWTOR in casual-friendliness.
  23. This was posted by illgot in another thread on the same subject:
  24. I agree. Sadly it will not happen, well not before a couple of year I guess.
