if they added arena they would need to add a second function to everything (talents, abilities) that they could balance without changing the pve function, because otherwise they would have to balance by changing everything about a class every damn time they wanted to 'spice up' pvp. WoW did it and it was horrible depending on the class, balancing the whole game around pvp is crap. I believe Rift solved this problem using something similar to what I proposed in my last paragraph, I never played it though, so I couldn't tell you for sure. To make Arena work you have to separate PvE and PvP for purposes of balance, it makes no sense to try to balance them at the same time when you don't have to. It also adds a different, PvP way to play each class, adding depth to the game for those who want to PvP in an arena setting without making all of the PvE-ers worry "god I wonder what they're going to eff up with my class next patch."

The battlemaster gear is not THAT much more powerful. They won't wreck us if they have it. Yes they will have an advantage....but seriously once everyone reached BM as well, it'll be like it never happened. Quitting over one collossal mistake (and let's be honest there are bugs in this game, but no game ruining blunders that only EA and Bioware has ever made) is uber lame. If people want to be crybabies then they can leave and make this community better for it.

Yeah the battlemaster gear isn't SO ridiculous that they will wreck the republic from now on. Over-reaction because you're angy...seriously? Yes it sucks that they are now way far ahead, but how long will it really take to catch up and then this event won't even matter? A few weeks maybe, big whoop. All I can say is that the people that unsub after one day of horrible pvp experience are making my game better by not being here. They're unsubscriptions won't really hurt EA or Bioware. I have personally NEVER run into a totally game breaking "OMG THIS IS RUINING MY LIFE!" bug. I agree that the faction imbalance and EA/Bioware doing Ilum the way they did was a HUGE mistake, but warzones are better than ever with the new bracket. They shut down the Ilum pvp area pretty quickly today, so I'm not upset, I just hope they fix it. I have a hunch that the un-subbers are probably going to come back pretty soon anyways, but if I'm wrong and they don't, well they can enjoy being spoiled brats that expect an MMO game to be the first to come out smoothly and perfectly within a month. NEVER been done, I've seen EVERYONE ***** about ALL of the other MMO releases defending swtor and I've personally seen the big ones like WoW and Rift and I can say that this is not much worse if at all, but it seems MUCH more worth the wait. So I'll have fun playing while you unsubs do whatever you do when you aren't nerdraging about bugs and rage-quiting over a couple of unhappy hours of your lives.

yeah, my issue with the high repair costs is that any basic mechanic of a game (i.e. repair costs) should never inhibit gameplay. The fact that I must either choose slicing or farm credits for hours to perform a basic but essential function inhibits gameplay. I can't use that money to buy things off of the GTN and make things to sell, I can't save up for that new speeder, I can't do anything except wait to see how much I have left after a few wipes. Lower repair costs is the easiest fix I see for this, but I suppose each boss dropping a very generous amount of credits is also fair and would work. As things are now, it feels like I'm putting in alot of time and effort for the CHANCE to win gear but a guranteed repair bill that will set me back quite a ways unless I chose the ONE profession that makes a ton of money easily (even after the nerf), which is not fair to me or any other player.
