  1. That is why it is a nerf and i vote negative. w/o the immunity across the board for all AC of Sorc, it screws the dps big time!!!
  2. Seems easy to try making Deathmark make any sorc damage do 20% more rather than periodic damage and having Creeping terror do it's damage over 10 seconds versus 18. That was someone else's idea from a while back post 1.2 and seems like a reasonable tweak to increase sorc dps roles.
  3. There wasn't any IMO......y'all got nerfed again. 1) Bodygaurd got a good increase, Great. Now they have a bit more heal-surviveability with thier heal tweak and new ability. 2) arsenal made out pretty good. RP doesnt give space for kiting, but a 4s root isnt all that bad...just gonna have to learn a new way to evade. The free heal for spamming TL 3 times for a 5 stack is nice for them....prolly see more spec into Bodyguard for heal bonuses than pyro now. 3) Pyro got the shaft. Thier interrupt while needed was a good call, but face it.....4s lock out does pretty much nothing for them except delaying an ability. could it be critical or superficial, well eh, that is more of a situational debate, too many variables! The big bone was the range nerf to the stun. I mean you all got a lousy 2s cast for a stun at range that can be interrupted easily or los'd to shutdown. But now having to be in 10m range isnt good when all your abilities in your rotation are 30m. it isnt a total loss but it hampers your gameplay style in such a way that it can only be used one guy in your face. Gone is the way of getting the kiter with a lead, or running to a defense point and getting an early stun or getting the Marauder before he leaps to ya. With so many other ideas i support in your guy's forum and none of them have been mentioned one way or another, i just sympathize and wonder if BW really gets how each class plays in PvP! Wonder if there is more to come that they obviously cannot tell us about till thier mind is made up. sad

  7. In speaking of pug matches whether solo or a partial remade, it is the tenacity of the players that make or break the defense camping. I solo pug a lot due to time zones from my guides and I see the points made. Some times us imps on pot5 lose the 2nd node after a good fight and then it is only 2-3 players that still fight to flip. This map and novarre make it to easy to give up and then wait out the time, which leads to chat arguments, etc. Yet, I have seen some where no one gives up and by successful diversion we can take and hold. Usually comms and heals affect fights like these more than facing a full premade team, but team composition could also be a factor. I don'tggive up till the match has hit its point of no return and the match can't be won.

  9. Sorc have had it. But it isn't the end for me. I mean sure I made 3 toons to 50 in the forst 30 days of the game...assassin, sorc and PT Pyro. So I guess I was lucky in my choices. I played the Sorc up to the nerfing, shelved the sin to PvE tank and then played Pyro. Played the parakeet build, ironfist, TheOpfs build and settled on my own 8/6/28 build by the time it was called a fotm. Good thing was that it enabled me to learn the counters to other classes since Pyro is easy to play. Since I am all WH with him I decided to go back to my Sorc and challenge myself. As a full BM it took me close to 3 weeks of playing wz's to adapt to the damage and defense changes but also reading the forums here about tactics, builds and rotations. I had to learn a new style of play...hit and run, los'ing and finding a Pyro or Mara to set as my assist. This is where I see the term dps support applied to Sorc. Not enough burst as a fotm, enough cc to set back the enemy or slow them and sustained dps that is outhealed or tanked through to our death. Yet assisting a good player who knows who to play the map and not the scoreboard is what I find this class is regulated to. I can finally survive 80% of my solo fights against fotm classes now, especially upgrading my trinkets, mh and oh weapons, but I cannot play like my Pyro or pre-1.2 styles. I know what I said here isn't anything new to us or even made to change your mind. I don't like the current state of the Sorc being glass with no cannon, yet making 3rd for objectives, damage and kills only means so much. It is the hope that the good ideas you all come up with hasn't fallen on deaf ears with the combat class tweaks coming in 1.4 and that people like warultima, TheOpfs and others post fact and relevance for us to use.   10. No! As my full BM with WH trinkets + MH & OH, I barely survive most solo encounters. Operatives and Pyro's being total kill with meh damage to them, IF, the catch me off guard and from LOS them. The constant use of your bubble and LOS/run away is your defense. Snares and dots enable a get away but guarantee it. Fighting next to pillars, corners, boxes, ramps or pits is half your defense! Your FL snare, Force Slow, Kickback (with root), Bubble and interrupt is your other half to defense. This forum has many threads on it, it is rough to play through it but it can be done. I find it more fun to play my sorc than my Pyro cuz I know how easy it is to play and counter every class with it. Sorc are more challenging to do the same with no burst and weak dots; yet, it is funny to see some Mara or Pyro I killed come back for more and more and more till he is tired of dieing to me.

  12. I use a 0/13/28 Madness build in all BH gear with the BM crit & WH power relics, with full augments (18 resolve). I find myself above or below my bf's Sniper by 20k depending on any fight. Only thing is, is that the Sniper is Rakata w/ 4 BH pieces. I don't have 35m range so some fights give a few extra seconds to him for engaging further. However, my 3/31/7 Lightning build would always have me best him for 10-50k in every fight. Better force management and CL with TB always hit for more than a FL blast even with movement fights. Your pick to use...lightning rotation is hard at first, while Madness is easier to do.
  13. I would say: 1) stop trolling 2) L2P, without hax 3) tell him fighting NPC's on illum isn't special celebration time.
  14. Granted I am sub 50 PvP on my operative, but as a lv 25 I put up enough dps to take 1st or 2nd in any wz I play and die less than most of my team. A lot of it comes down to who is on my team AC wise and if I get left holding an objective. Otherwise it is using all my abilities wisely, easy.
  15. TOD should do more damage than it does now, however the adjustment is made. More base damage or additional internal damage. Moreover, FL should have a 80% slow at least. I mean Luke couldn't get up and run to the empower he just spammed....plus if you have been tasered for fun-training then you know you can't do jack but stumble and fall. Seems FL is weak vs a gun. Since it is so easy to interrupt and lock out it also suggests it should a heck of a lot more for a onetrick pony build.

  17. not quite what i was looking for. I have an Op for healing and a PT Pyro for extreme DPS.....it is this sorc was my first toon and have been a Lightning Tree user for some time. While i am not as fancy as 'effinmetal in recording dps parses to a webpage i do keep a sticky note and record what my average dps was for that boss fight in an 8 man EC (sm/hm) and i am about 20-40 dps points under his posted. I am interested in playing FL spammer for a bit now on this guy and looking up various builds in this forum and other sites, it just isnt clear why some builds do this and do that. using that build i linked into my original post i have noticed some 'hybrid' dont use or take Lightning Barrage. Wouldnt this help with Force regen and help do more dps since its casts so quick allowing you to redo FL or proc CD/LS 1.5s sooner? The 3 points that go into Creeping Death: 30% crit dam bonus to DF and periodic damage.... i see some builds skipping it to put into lightning for extra CC. So, if i keep to the linked build is C-Death going to really be a dps multiplier or is the RNG for crits hits from Affliction/CD to varying to be much of a use....which i can then put into Electric Bindings or Backlash or Exsanguinate? Is Corrupted Flesh worthwhile in slotting points to that matter as well? Since FL is channeled, is it an attack broken into 3 1 sec interval attacks or is it a periodic damage style to take advantage of Creeping Death?
  18. Having played a while on a Sorc i dont claim to know it all 'tis why i ask the sorc community for help. Using a spec like= http://swtor.magelo.com/en/skilltree#a/l28/ilaEBi is Lightning Barrage worth getting to add more to overall dps or is the 2 points better put into Corrupted Flesh or Suppression? Is the 3 points in Creeping Death really that much of a dps multiplier or can i use 2 points or no points and pick up more cc utility from Electric Bindings or Backlash? Even tho force Lightning is channeled is it periodic damage? i dont think it is but just wondered if Sith Efficacy, Wrath, Madness, Calcify and Disintegration was there was to FL! Thanks for answering some questions i cannot find or understand!
  19. You are partially correct. Zorn will do the fearfull effect but it only goes to 28 meters. So if you have the info enabled on the target nameplate icon you can see your exact distance. The tank can keep still until the red circle aoe phase which then everyone has to run it is best to run out of range and barely into it to keep fearfull from applying. Furthermore, if you have your ranged on Zorn (30m-35m) then it will be easy to never get fearful during the whole boss fight unless you are careless and get to close during the red circle phase mania.
  20. While there is good advice given by some to help .......it only goes so far. The only ways you get found in stealth is the other player gets behind you first and is quick to use sleep dart or thier incap OR You are low level in which case anyone 3 levels higher than you can see you as if you were not stealthed. If that is the case being away from the node as some pointed out will help but always be moving to avoid being seen by other stealthed too. Nothing much else to do about it but play through it.
  21. In our raids using swmonitor the Mara is 1st, Powertech dps is 2nd and my lightning sorc is vying for 3rd with the sniper. 20k is the over under against the sniper. It sucks cause the melee dps can have Toth down to 20% before we get Zorn to 50% easily. I have a PT Pyro I raid with as well and the Mara and I do this vs 2 snipers also. I don't get excluded from any raids on my sorc, but raters as a dps is just not in the cards....especially as a Lightning spec sorc. If LS would be a 1 sec cast, Wrath would proc CL again, FR was impervious to any cc while active but pulls and leaps and force shield added a 15% defense chance while active I would be satisfied.
  22. I agree to a degree. We definitely are squishy and we do have access to some cc and that Sorc is a good support dps. Dots and sustained dps only go so far. In terms of the 'elite' sorc players who can muster dps and stuns to avoid being owned or have competent friend to aid in matches....does the Sorc need 1 or 2 changes to combat? Many Sorc players hate that you have to always stop to use 80% of your abilities, so you can't really run n gun. Affliction, shock and creeping terror only do so much vs other classes firing on the move, so Sorc aren't mobile dps as some think. Do you think other players wanting changes to wrath, shock, lightning strike needing cd, proc, cast or damage changes? While Sorc has some great cc does it work for you or against you? The overload kb + root get removed due to a dot or teammate breaking it? Does the blind from shield allow you to aoe cc and control mobs of players or does it fill thief resolve allowing them unrestricted movement? Does it not apply to the player you wanted it too? Do you feel force run under performs since it doesn't stop application of root/snare or you get pulled back or jumped to before you get to los? Do you feel FR needs a cc block during its duration? Should barrier apply a X% defense like a Agents cover shield can? Does force lift not last as long as the Flashback aoe effect although it is a single target use an issue? Sustained dps is the norm with this class but where does it fit in with the AC match up. Agent sniper, Merc Arsenal are the other ranged and are turret styled at times, no? The lack of burst, the lack of run n gun attacks, no anti interrupt like agent, no high crit attacks like TM+HSM; so, Sorc dps is 3rd rate and the scoreboard for damage belies this fact. Spreading affliction unnoticed all throughout a match to pad your damage stat is easy, but masks the fact of overall meh. Sure Deathfield with Recklessness can get a 4k crit or higher with min/max stats....innately I see the inadequacy do you feel there is one there? Does the easy interrupt of lightning force you to have to run away from a fight or limit your defense of a node since you have no other strong attack to use for 2-3 GCD's...LS is ok, Does CL and TB get interrupted as well to often a competentplayer? Do you feel other players are right in that we need a flammable rapid shot wannabe ability? CD, CT, LS should hit for more damage? Ido what your build is but how is your force management? Casting in PvP can drain quickly and avoiding death takes you out of the fight or make you have to be a hybrid vs pure build to maintain it? Lastly it is nice to have a friend fight with you and focus fire and time cc! Have you truly lugged and tried to play as a team player and reach your same conclusions?
  23. 3 reasons to argue against it. 1. Blizzard knows new gear requires playtime, thus subscription revenue, and players will play to have new gear based off a dumb new stat. 2. Using GW2, you don't need special PvP vs PvE gear, u use what you got. 3. Sub 50 PvP doesn't use Expertise until the lv 40 weapons and that is so low who cares. Point is if you don't need expertise until post-50 why bother to have it all. The whole argument of arse-hats joining your raid then you need a guild, bigger guild or ally with a raid guild to meet your needs. PvPrs can do thier thing for a fun time and different looking gear and PvErs can do thiers and both can each others.
  24. No communication is just as worse as posting every thought, idea, plan and current development. Plenty of MMO's have communication, interactivity with the players. --SWG had devs chiming in certain posts and had player elected council for each class talking directly to the devs themselves. --Rift has dev comms --Warhammer had dev comms --Star Trek Online has dev comms -- D&D Online has dev comms --Eve Online has dev comms And probably a few more I haven't played. Even if the dev chatter is select, cryptic or downright dispelling a myth......it is more than we get here. The responses we do get are copy and paste replies 80% of the time unless you hang out in the off topic forum. Even if it was one person who talked to one dev each day and replied to one forum or two each different day it would be a miracle.
  25. I know it is hard to size up a players gear nowadays, but I can take a Mara 1 on 1 and win....except for the smash spec. Yes I need all my CD'S to do it but I can at least leave that Mara within 15% of his life or less at that point (smash spec) I run a 0/13/28 build with WH: MUS, OH, Belt, Braced & Earpiece...rest is BM. I have just as many deaths as the next guy in pug wz's but contribute greatly to a win or a near loss.
