I wouldn't really consider inventory room as "pay to win"; it doesn't really give you an edge over anybody else unless you count the extra time you have to go back and sell stuff while others keep leveling I'm perfectly fine with Cash Store as long as it's all cosmetic and stuff like bank room and I'm probably ok if they sell end-game gear as well as long as it's not more powerful that the one I can get in-game by just playing. I think lots of people (not saying it's your case) just feel better about being beaten by people who use the cash shop if they convince themselves that the fact that they used real money to buy their gear was the only reason they beat you; although most people ignore the fact that if you're both at end-game with end-game gear and the other person bought his/her stuff while you earned it, shouldn't you be more skillful that said person by then? I mean, after all you do have more experience that him/her, right? .p As for the "rich kids" comment, after TOR goes F2P won't the people that are still paying sub be considered the "rich kids"? That being said still can't get GW2....it's all sold out and they have a ton of people reserving the game so the next 3 or 4 shipments are already all reserved so best case scenario I'll only get to try the game in a month >_<

From what I've heard the story aspect of the game is really nothing to be impressed about, but I guess they're doing enough other things right for people to like the game. It does look very much fun, although I haven't had time to grab myself a copy...

I have to say that (and I hate to admit this after all of those months of nay-saying) GW2 is sounding more and more decent...very wow-like with improved graphics and dodge mechanics but I do miss the fantasy setting and the whole F2P (B2P if you want to knit-pick) sounds really good. I'm not playing TOR enough to warrant a sub and I'm not really looking forward to F2P-with-restrictions. Now I know GW2 will be pretty much the same but I don't think I'll ever take that game seriously so if I play an hour a month at least I didn't pay for a month... Guess we'll see. I think the game itself is average at best but the community in general (not the idiots that were here worshipping GW2 for months) seem really nice and the whole Free-For-All on questing and stuff sounds really good although I'm sure stuff like Dynamic Events will only be fun the first week then you'll never have access to certain quest hubs because there's not enough people to clean the centaurs out...Also not buying into the hype of "your actions change the world in a way that other MMO's never tried".....for 5 mins at least, until the event starts again. I'll probably end up playing a human rogue, a draenei hunter and a night elf mage...probably a paladin too....oops, I mean a human thief, a norn ranger, a sylvari elementalist and a guardian.....no relation to that other game whatsoever

So finally the release of GW2...hopefully now the ones that have to leave will leave and the ones that actually like to be here will stay and the conversations about all the new "awesome" mmo's will be over. With our luck though, they'll jump right to the Titan conversation once they realize GW2 is nothing special...just like all the other MMO's released lately...I still remember how quickly they shut up about Tera...same day open beta started, I think...

The moving went fine and I'm all settled; having lots of fun with my new hobby (photography) and will do the whole registration thing and start working tomorrow. Glad it worked for you Tany; I know everybody complains about CS here and I know they're a bit slow (but there's a lot of whiners so they have a lot to swim through) but when they finally managed to get to my tickets they've always done right by me; they couldn't fix everything but I'm nt one of those people that think they can send a ticket saying there's a broken mechanic and the GM's will fix it for me...within their limitations, the CS are pretty helpful and polite.

Chapter 1 ends after you finish Alderaan, which will be the 4th world after you leave your capital planet (the one you get your ship in). It should be around lvl 30-35 depending on how much you quest 3 Chapter total so far (plus a few extra quests for completion)

You mean not being F2P by the time they reached 1mil subs, right? Because Aion has a F2P option now So does that mean that if I eat a strawberry ice cream that tastes awful, buy another strawberry ice cream from another brand that also tastes awful does that mean I don't know what I want? I don't really care about the topic of this thread (if I don't have the time to play I do't play, that includes traveling back and forth) except, to a small degree, when I'm 10 mins away from a travel point, 6 travel points away from when I need to go, my QT is in CD and there's people pacing back and forth at the entrance of the quest's instance waiting for me... What I do find curious is that every time I come to a "suggestion" thread I see 90% the people either demanding that if said suggestion isn't implemented the game will fail or (like in this case) saying "I don't like that option, so not only wouldn't I use it but you shouldn't have it either". If you don't like pie, don't eat it, but why going all out telling other people they can't have pie? If it's a totally OPTIONAL add to the game, let them have it if they want it or are you going to say you cry yourself to sleep every night because you like walking in MMO's but you have to use a speeder just because it was there?

It's called having friends to come talk to. Gwyn and some of us have been posting in this same thread (or the previous reincarnations of it) for what...over a year? I lost track... How much a month is it again? I might still give it a try, although I'm still really not convinced about combat, but it might have been the videos I've watched where they only used 2 skills (but I do know you only have 7 to choose from anyway). The theme of it is drawing me in which is ironic since it's not a themepark MMO (and I tend to dislike sandbox MMO's). As for Chris I haven't heard from him in months! EDIT: It's 2 weeks until my sweetheart comes here for her vacations, then we'll spend 2 weeks here and we'll go back to the Netherlands together. Can't wait!

I can't get myself to play The Secret World...the combat looks horrible, like everything is floating...the combat sound effects are very bad and while the whole exploration quests sound fun I'm thinking that after a week I'll just end up wanting to get some quests done and check a wiki instead of thinking (have to do that enough during work). Also, not being able to carry many quests might make you focus on the few you have but causes one of the things I hate the most about MMO's...backtracking....also not very convinced about the "no levels, no classes" thing...I like my roles well defined and the "no levels" is a gimmick, you still level up, just not directly, you get points to spend which in the end is the exact same...so I'm sitting that one out. The setting seems wonderful though, I would buy it as a single-player game in a hurry As for GW2, it doesn't interest me in the least either, the quests are boring without the whole story behind them; they tried to pull a SWTOR by making it voice acted but it's seriously a poor effort (no choices either...as much as 90% of SWTOR's choices are fluff I still love them) ...also, I can only imagine PvP with everybody rolling left and right XD

Decided to do Belsavis dailies (yes, I'm only still in Belsavis =P) and when I noticed I turned 50! A full lvl just doing the dailies, wasn't even halfway done! So now I have a 50 Grinding for gear doesn't strike me as fun...at least the Belsavis quests were boring as hell and it's only the first day I do them...so I'll be finishing my class story and moving on to my sorcerer UNLIMITED P...naah, too cliché

I did hardcore PvPing for 5 years, until I realized how much PvP stressed me out, then did hardcore PvE (server firsts and whatnot) for 2 more years. Now I don't want to go back to PvP and don't have the time to do serious raiding (and I have no patience for casual raiding, since casual seems to translate into "I can show up drunk for raids" for many people) so now I'm right where I want it, I'm about to turn 50 (level, not age ) and I'm not even halfway done with Belsavis, so there's still a lot of story left to be done and then I have 7 more chars to lvl at my pace. And since I'm not going to be spending countless hours getting better gear on my 50's I won't get to that stage where you cry on the inside replacing all of those purples for greens on next expansion

There's one. And we're talking about it. AND it has high resistance.That's why it's valuable, otherwise it would just be a normal, different looking speeder. I was just answering the guy who said this was not an interoduction to the cash shop since the only thing this speeder had different from others that you can get in-game was the looks and I was asking him where has he seen 110% speeders at lvl 25 in-game (other than this one, obviously ^_^)

You and tons of other people, but I'm sure that 90% of those will be here in the forums in a few months saying they'll unsubscribe because there are noobs in WZ and raids that bought all their gear...people giving BW (or EA, more likely) the ok sign for this speeder will no doubt make them think people are starting to get used to the pay-to-win method. At least it won't be on my head

So there are 110% speeders for lvl 25 out there?
