  1. Yea, I cannot believe how naive the developers were when they designed this game to omit some specific things like this. Some other things missed: - Combat Logs. They put stupid enrage timers for the Hard mode FP's but no combat logs for us to eval performance from dps, or why the tank was just 1 shot. - Movable frames. UI customization helps a lot to keep things organized certain ways. Many more, but it is early, so wont ramble on.
  2. This right here. Our mitigation in any spec isn't what it should be when geared. This goes the same for PvP. I should be insanely hard to kill, but I am not. Even with full purples, mix of PvP/PvE gear.
  3. Ironfist is a mechanic fight. Need to have 2 classes interrupt the Aimed Shot, spread for the Missle Salvo and heal the dmg. The 3 adds that spawn, just dps them down fast. Rinse/repeat till dead. My group is having an issue on the last boss however, constantly hitting the enrage.
  4. 3 shot him, no problems. No friend. Not bugged. Did gear up T7 from Corellia quest rewards, some ah stuff. Hybrid Defense/Vig specced Guardian. I wrote the spoiler on a couple of other posts, won't do it again. Not to be inflammatory, but if you know your class and mechanics, this fight isn't hard solo.
  5. I tried both specs out tonight with the same group, same 50 flashpoints. Vigilance first, followed by the Defense. In Vig I was bouncing like a champ with leap as it came off cd, etc. In the end, our healer stated the 2nd time through was much easier to heal through both trash and the boss fights. There might be some things we are missing, but I have seen firsthand the difference in tanking and I still prefer the defense spec over Vig. I did like my extra Endurance though from the Vig tree. It could also be dependant upon secondary stats as well. I have a solid shield rating and absorption stats in addition to defense, so shield procs would benefit me more. Kind of like DK w/ high Mastery in Wow.
  6. Except we aren't talking about PvP in this thread. Additionally why would you want to drop threat as a tank in a PvE encounter? I would also venture to say that the Protector talent will be changed in the future and move that endurance bonus over to the defensive side but possibly keep the Guardian Leap portion on Vig. From a class/spec balance issue, the Dev team has a little bit to learn still.
  7. There are already a few posts on the same subject. Please do a quick search or scan of the forums and post in the appropriate thread. With that said however, a more optimal tank spec is: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500fMGcubrkzRZhGM.1 Accuracy is important for threat generation, armor reduction, etc. Not having points into Inner Peace is screaming for things to hit you because you are more squishy.
  8. So you will take a 20% decrese in incoming damage for 4 secs after a leap, but omitting a non-channeled stasis that can be used for interrupting a critical spell, stopping damage, short cc, etc? Additionally, Courage is always up with the max stack I have noticed at 50 so reducing focus costs there is pretty good since when you use Blade Storm constantly allowing for a mini shield. Unremitting isn't as good as you think unless you are constantly leaping in, and in FP's Operations you aren't.
  9. As mentioned in the post above me, to make up for the accuracy from not going into the talents, you would have to almost have every slot with accuracy which takes away from higher priority stats.
  10. I roll with: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500fMGcubrkzRZhGM.1 Accuracy helps more than you think because there are times you miss with your abilities and it still goes on cooldown. No bueno. Defensive mitigation seems to be really good as well. Force Leap stun works well as you leap in, then switch to other targets for threat gen, and back to the one you leaped for control. You lose out a little on focus building, but that really isn't an issue IMHO, threat and control are your two main concerns.
  11. http://imgur.com/xxsKm http://i.imgur.com/BrFHo.jpg 50 Guardian. The legs aren't perfect yet, but thus far liking the look. Wish I chose a different mask option though. I thought everyone would choose the "Matrix" sunglass look so went with something more reminiscent of the Rebel Pilot look. Starting to hate it.
  12. Read the walkthrough I posted in the Guardian forums if you are having trouble. Yes, you will need to gear up T7 though, but if you do, it is a cakewalk.
  13. Because Saber Throw will magically cause a Ranged class to run up to you instead of shoot you at range? Because Saber Throw will magically pull a mob that may get affected by another patrolling mob causing more heartache than it is worth? Saber throw is great versus NPC melee classes, but doesn't solve the issue of ranged. Take this PvE scenario if you will: 5 mobs in a "pack". I use that term loosely because the area is sort of open and the mobs are tied to each other agro-wise. 1 silver ranged class in the center, 4 random melee/ranged on the outside. Outside of usable Sweep/Cyclone range. Currently, you can AE taunt but you still have to do damage on each to keep threat over Doc otherwise he would just heal himself and not you.
  14. I will concede the point about the story line, however if they were paying attention to the story line earlier in the progress it basically told us we would be needing T7. The 1st time we faced the Emporer and went "dark" and Scourge bailed out our teammates, part of the story T7 said he was the only one the Emporer's abilities wouldn't affect. So there was a clue early on...
  15. Posted this in another thread, but wanted to give it justice since so many people are having trouble with this. Just 3 shot him with T7 right after I hit 50. Spec I used: http://knotor.com/skills#AgIYEQBCUVlieoGRm7K7ytLaeYKSo7K609oA Corellia quests all give companion rewards, use each one on T7 but don't overlap. For instance 2 parts, motors, cores, etc. They continue to give you companion rewards, so make sure you dont end up with 7 t7 parts. The trash was harder with T7 than the Emporer. Those Shadow Assasins really rock me when more than 1, I just don't have enough interrupts, cc, etc. 1st attempt was a 40% and I didn't know what to expect. 2nd attempt was a 20% but my pet died really early into the fight. 3rd attempt was a very clean attempt and I never dropped below 50% the whole time. Spoiler below: All in all, was a very fun, challenging fight.
  16. Prim Stats: Endurance > Strength Secondary Stats: Defense > Shield > Absorption
  17. As a melee class, Force Push has it's uses and through clever use of game mechanics is quite fun. However, adding a Force Pull ability would both benefit greatly in PvE and PvP content by allowing us to bring that elusive ranged towards us without the need for us to leap, position correctly, push him back to an area we want to be in, etc. Please make it so.
  18. I omitted some of the irrelevant stuff so I can address those two points. They "fixed" you being able to take him down the hall to force push him off the ledge from my understanding. To do that, they most likely tethered him to his room? Just a guess. I didn't have a problem with him at all, so not sure. If players do not know this is coming up, that is their own fault. People should actively read forums about their class in the higher level ranges so they can get idea of what to expect, how to improve, etc. Ignorance is no excuse.
  19. I am going with this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500fMGcubrkzRZhGM.1 Thus far it seems to be doing fine, with no issues whatsoever, and actually performs better with larger packs of mobs I have noticed. I also think they will improve the Jedi Guardian soon defensively, and it will be more beneficial to go this route in the near future.
  20. Just 3 shot him with T7 right after I hit 50. 21. I read the forums daily and hopefully others will too. The last quests in Corellia almost always give you companion options as gear. I chose the T7 parts in every one to make up for the lack of me using him since I got Kira. Combined with a random AH purchase, I feel my T7 is ready to go when I hit 50 which should be today.
  22. Use Kira, and make sure to use your cooldowns you have available at the end of the fight. I didn't have a problem being fully tank specced.
  23. I already do that, and it isn't the issue. There are times when a pull is necessary and honestly, as a pure melee class we should have the ability to pull 1 towards us on a decent cooldown.
  24. A full defensive specced Tank shouldn't be a beast in PvP with damage, but it should take a ton longer to take down their health than it does. Guardians are broken in that regard. We take way too much damage than should be allowed for with the right gear, spec.
  25. While leveling, tanking some 4+ areas, etc I noticed the one thing we lack completely is a Force Grip ability. There is always packs of mobs that are ranged and NEVER FREAKING MOVE and it can get annoying. Why not a Force grip ability to bring that into the main group?
