in fairness it depends on what you want, i'm a big crafter so i will help the guild with my artificing, and (when i get round to it) armortech and synthweave... it's my goal in life to be able to make all purple grade gear available (epic?) at all levels... course i'm gonna murder the guy who set the purple gem drop rate (KRAYT DRAGON PEALS...GRRRR) i dont do pvp so nothing bothers me in that regard... also a friend told (and showed) me that you can make purple crystal at lvl 49...after a boss kill (on hoth...or hoss??) then big long quest line....but it ultimately is possible.

you mean fourth if your talking Shadow, Qyzen, the healer(nar shadarr) and the ship droid are long before chap 2...dont know the rest.. edit: whoops didnt see the second page:P

i didnt say he was perfect! all i'm saying is when i solo with him i more often than not survive my encounters. you want to be fussy bout 3 seconds you go right ahead. plus you hardly need qyzen if you are grouping with a knight and the droid.. knight holds one and you and droid attack other, or whatever tank/dps combo works best... as for the companion sociaal thing, i again fail to see the problem, but that is cos i rarely get the -1s but that is your CHOICE! i always think of my companion when i answer anything... it's not rocket science... Qyzen likes direct answers and doesnt like letting things live...

firstly you dont HAVE to use them, join with other players instead, secondly, Bioware have being lumping us with companions since KOTOR, did you really expect any different? the NarShadarr healer and Qyzen work fine for me (lvl 24 inflitrator all the way) course it takes practice, and having best gear possible helps too... remember Qyzen is there to die for you (dumb tank!) only a shadow tank or dps would use a healer (i'm guessing not much use to sage!!) i'm sure i had something else to say but my college tudor just gave me an arrow to the knee

if you go do the main story line on Nar Shadarr you'll get healer companion, who is useful enough if you are tank/dps. that's lvl 20 roughly. i can work with Qyezen as i am dps, so he takes the punches i finish them off.. i've no way to compare with other classes or even sage, but for me they both work fine so far (lvl 24) course i've got orange lightsabre, chestpiece, skirt and at least 2 others everything else is blue... all adds up to staying alive *breaks out in to song...

yeah man! where you been hiding...do the heroics, some are drops some are quest rewards, one is from taris heroic +2 Esseles has a nice one as well, then i have another that came from hammer st probably (but dont hold me to that one)

you need to get out more so to speak i do one or two Heroic +4 every day, both cos i love them and cos of the drops, my sabre, cloak and skirt(dont deny it...it's a skirt and i love it) are orange rating.

that's what i did, i'm only 23 but i'm in an orange brown robe from somewhere, with Esseles one now hoarding a spot in my cargo hold also the first heroic +2 on Taris gives a Blue hooded Robe which is nice if you dont want to see your hats in afterthought i probably got the second Orange Robe from somewhere on Na Shadarr as i didnt do taris (aside from main quest) this time round (did it in beta) just in case your confused, the robe is brown, the standard is orange(epic or whatever) and the blue robe was blue and blue rating... all three robes are hooded (a must for Shadows IMO)

also you can turn off hats in the prefs menu, i had a hat at one time, but my hair was sticking out thru it so i had enough of that!

well i'm happily in as close to the trad jedi robes as i'll get, similar to the hooded Esseles robe but higher lvl, as for Assassin/caster....they are both also tank and at times controller! multitalented bunch we are!

23 + 2 + 16 = 41?? thought it was only 40 as class starts at lvl 10! as for me, i open with shadow strike quite a lot usually just after force potency, but it is up to you really, when you have a healing companion its easier to do this way as far as i'm conceerned. As dps when in the heroic +4s i usually use shadow strike to take out the adds, along with kenetic throw project and wave i get em out pretty quick. then on the silvers is the same, the higher ones i tend to range whoever is targeted by tank, tho i off tank for healer as necessary.. for bosses it's ranged again, with a lot of mind snap ( if possible) of course i mind maze everything that moves cos i like sparkling lights basically i'm a ranged dps, part time controller with off tank capabilities SHADOWS FTW!!

personally i'd say boost endurance and willpower, as a tank or healer you will use your powers more than your strikes. Str is more for Knights.

oh you should also get the Esseles gear, or any Orange(y colour) gear to give you that little extra..

oh my own advice from my own opinion... generally i send my companion against the strongest, while i kill off the weaker mobs...then take out the stronger one, this isnt gosspel but in most cases it works for me, also might be wise to have a few stims on ya at low levels may the swartz be with yououououououououou....

Gets easier once you have your companion, Starter area can be a bit of a pain in the rear, that said i sucked in beta as Jedi Consular, but came back wiser for it at EGA so now..frankly...I ROCK! so Just focus on missions and try not to pull too many mobs.. you'll figure it out patience is a virtue.
