  1. And you are definitely right. I play with about 550 expertise and rakata gear. After that point you seem to not get the returns for expertise that you do at less levels. I hope that this is being fixed. PVP gear should always be better than pve for a warzone.
  2. Well ok, I do see your point, but I don't really agree with it. What rewards will people get for ranked matches if not pvp gear to make their character better. If the field is always even you will lose peoples interest. You are right though, gameplay does keep a player, but so does gear. You need both components along with a good social environment (plus other things I'm sure) to keep people going/draw people to an MMO. Take for example a world event, I'm sure alot of people, me included will go do whatever silly things they think of for a chance to have something that not many players have (like a pet). If you remove expertise from PVP I am pretty sure there will not be nearly as many players who actively pvp, most of the life in the warzones now is people grinding for BM, for a chance to get the gear that will make them have the best chances to win. The true equalizer is everyone getting the top tier gear, then pvp will be what you are talking about. Removing the top tier gear pvp stat just hurts the players that have worked for it and rewards the players that have not.
  3. Also take the gear away and I'm sure I will still be successful in pvp, I mean in the 1-50 pvp I was still very competetive even without the BM gear. I am just saying that people like loot that gives them an edge. The folks that really love to pvp do/collect whatever gear it is so that their gear and skill together will make them a better player. Even if you remove expertise I suspect the good players will still be very good, in fact it would probably be even worse since currently expertise is the only thing normalizing players gear wise. Without that a player in rakata with some knowledge on how to play their class will tear apart a new 50. Well i guess then we can remove rakata gear too but where the hell does this end. PVP gear is exceptionally easy to get at this point, I don't see the issue with it.
  4. Nope I'm not quitting, I like to pvp for the sake of pvp, as a result of that I have gotten better gear. I was a big counterstrike fan too. I am waiting for 1.2 to come out and we are working on nightmare mode raids for the fun of it and for the titles. There are still plenty of things to accomplish. My observation is simply that gear progression drives alot of people to keep playing, or at least is a component of the formula for what brings so many to MMOs
  5. Rofl, I think pvp should all be turn based now, blow for blow, no moving, no "cheating" by paying attention and using some ability to your advantage that another class doesn't have. That will solve everything.
  6. Then why even have pvp gear at all if it offers you no advantage. People grind pvp to get gear to gain even more advantage. Hell why not get rid of all gear and have everyones stats normalized, woo, then no one has any advantage except the skills they have. Then again why the hell would the majority of people keep playing. Gaining better loot is a motivator and reward system for many, if you don't like the specialized gear play counterstrike. Also making pvp gear = to pve gear takes the luster away from doing on or the other. You expect that as you do PVE and spend time learning and clearing the encounters that you will have access to gear that better suits pve. It would be very unfair to the people that have gotten pve gear through considerable time spent in a raid zone, to make pvp gear just as viable or vice versa. Personally I have both BM and rakata gear, if I had to work for it then so should everyone else.
  7. Of course my gear stacks endurance, it's war leader armor, and I am an immortal tank. If you mean everyone has the same HP at level 50 naked, that's true, but as it turns out most classes use armor of some kind, and that armor set typically comes with certain class appropriate stats itemized. So the classes do end up with a wide range of differences in HP when wearing the class set for their particular spec.
  8. Lol, that's a useful response, if you don't believe me come to empire-Krath server, My character's name is serenitee you can come inspect it. I'm pretty sure what I said isn't unreasonable.
  9. Mine works fine and I love having it, makes rotations alot easier to manage.
  10. Nope, I have around 20 K in BM and champion buffed, yet other classes don't. In Rakata it's around 22-23k buffed. So again, nope we don't all have the same hp.
  11. Pretty sure this quote sums this up. "please nerf Rock, he's too overpowered. But Paper is ok. Love, Scissors."
  12. Our damage output is limited by stances, guard requires tank stance, the only thing you can do in dps stance is your taunt/aoe taunt. Not to mention what is said here, if you nerf damage output in tank stance then we don't hold threat and can't do our job in PVE. This game is not about a balanced 1 vs 1 in pvp. Making any of these ridiculous changes will severely cripple PVE viability. Rather than whining about sorcerers in pvp how about you organize your group and burst them down. Teamwork FTW.
  13. Nerfing this would have bad implications for PVE ops where your healers have to do both in nightmare mode in order to meet dps. Point number 2, if you give them stances, say something like shadow form in WoW where they can't heal then they should have a DPS buff to give them some reason to use that stance. Do you really want sorc to do more damage? Taking away all offensive abilities when they are in healing stance would make them completely useless in pvp.
  14. Oh, I guess you have a point, I just figured if it was out here and people were in support of it, that maybe the devs are reading these things and would comment.
  15. Sorry for the typo, I fixed it, but yes that is sort of what I am saying. Don't get me wrong alot of people in premades will farm but I think pugs are just as likely to do it if they have the chance. My point was also that not all premades farm people. In my premade we will never do this, i'd rather win in 3 minutes and get out than score 5 in 3 minutes and waste another 12 killing people. I'm completely for an ops queue, not only will it mean better matches for us (I would much rather face a group of 8 people all working together than 8 people farming medals), but it will eliminate the problem of getting 4 people from you group in there with another 4 people farming medals. No matter how much your premade tries if you face 8 pugs playing together with 4 people in a premade and 4 pugs medal farming, the 8 people playing together will come out on top. TLDR, premades don't farm players, jerks farm, and that can be a premade or a PUG
  16. Well, I certainly would like it, swapping gear between bosses to either tank or dps as needed takes a few minutes for me each time. Not to mention I miss pieces sometimes inadvertently. It would be nice to just set up the armor set one time and know for sure that I have everything on correctly and be able to do that in a few seconds rather than holding the ops up.
  17. You are confusing premades with jerks, my premade WILL NOT farm people, it's better to win and move on to more valor. On the contrary, I have played versus many pugs when I'm solo that WILL farm us the entire time in huttball. Premades are not everyones issue, people who feel good about demoralizing another person are, and good luck fixing that in an MMO
  18. I'm with you there, in my opinion it is totally a dick move to farm people if you are up 5-0. I don't do it and I hate it when other people do it. It's also more valor efficient if you are winning in 4 minutes to just get out and get in another game quickly (not to mention you aren't being a jerk that way).
  19. I have a full tank pve and pvp set along with pve and pvp dps sets. It would be nice to just assign outfits with what gear I want in each rather than searching through my bags each time. Is this important to anyone else?
  20. Rift was much worse than this I think the buttons are reasonable. They have limited it enough that you don't need macros to survive.
  21. I agree that stuns are a completely important part of the game for a caster, what I don't agree with is that every class can chain stun, my class included (juggernaut). It just seems that with the amount of stunning and CCing every class can do it makes huttball effin chaotic, most of the time I'm unable to actually fight as I am getting bounced all over the place. I mean take away my stuns and CC, fine with me, i can play without them, not every class should be a CC class.
  22. Personally I love the game, sure the bugs are frustrating, especially in endgame raiding, but we have honestly worked past them and it's not an issue. The game is brand new and bugs are a part of it, WoW was buggy as hell and had 0 battlegrounds when the game first came out, although I think everyone convieniently forgets that. I think with the amount of improvement they are making on this game, and with the fact that they are listening to the community and carefully implementing changes (not responding with the nerf/buff bat in every instance) that this game will turn out to be the new thing. Not to mention SWTOR has something that WoW gave up on long ago, an actual story.
  23. Yeah those are options, I have tried the focus target but was unable to get it to work very well for me, it would definitely be nice to have the focus target in it's own raid frame, or visible in some way. Perhaps it is and I'm just doing it totally wrong.
