  1. Lol think we found one of the people exploiting this issue. Said person will of course deny it but we know its the truth. I would say that anyone who dropped a skill with 400 pts in it because they were told there is a better skill deserve to lose their money and time. quit crying because your exploit has been fixed and play the game to play the game, not to exploit it because thats the only way you apparantly have any fun (bewildering to me).
  2. And you couldnt think to go quest while waiting for the group to form? you couldnt do a space mission, do some harvesting, or just do some farming while waiting? The loss of time is your fault, not the game's. group content is NOT the only way to play this game, and in this case it actually turns out that solo content would have been a faster way to lvl. kind of irnoic isnt it?
  3. so your defending wow by pointing out unfinished content at release?
  4. The game just launched, OF COURSE THERE IS NO END GAME! This is how MMO's have ALWAYS worked. Even Wow had no end game at launch. What surprises me is that I am actually surprised that there are still noobs out ther ewho know nothing about MMO launches. I find it amusing that you always have these people that rush to the lvl cap, even have contests over it and brag about how quickly they lvled, then complain about there being no content.
  5. I completely disagree with everythijng you posted as its all opinion based. And its all 100% wrong. Lol I will however admit you did get me to post, so score for that, but wow what a troll post with 100% inaccurate and untrue information. PLus, its all vastly biased. Yep, I = sucker on this one.
  6. Keep in mind that at least some eprcentage of these forum posts are from people who have a vested interest in other games, and some are from people who got frustrated with the game for one reason or another and feel that this is the only way to get back at the game. Look at games like EQ, DAOC, Asherons call2, etc. that are STILL going, servers are still up and new content is still being made for these games. Just because a game has a low population, and only a few servers doesnt mean that the game is dead. Also, only a small percentage of the players in the game read the forums, let alone post on them, so you only see the small minority here.
  7. @AJediKnight The darkside is NOT the force. The force has no side, it is simply the force. To say that it is one side or the other shows your ignorance of the lore of this universe. You also reinforce my opinion about people who choose empire (or the 'evil' side in any game) from your statements in your post. Thank you for confirming my opinion, I shall keep this opinion close to heart
  8. I saw mention of a focus bar in the guide. What is it and how do I activate it as it is not a part of the default UI that I know of. Thanks!
  9. Great job comparing a veteran game that has been around for many years to a breand new game that hasnt had a fair chance to grow yet. I take you up on your challenge - lets just see what TOR is like even just 1 year down the road. Everything listed here is your opinion (of which I disagree with everything you have said) and needs to be treated as such. Compare apples to apples my friend, cause your not doing that now. Compare TOR to wow in December of '03 and at least I myself found far far more bugs in wow, far less content in wow, and more class issues in wow at that time than Tor has now, so in my book Tor has already outshined wow.
  10. I have NONE of these issues. Game NEVER crashes, never drop sbelow 50 FPS (thats in BG's and with many people on the screen at once) and I did NOT spend $4000 for my comp (spent around $2750, and thats really for 1 gaming computer with extra parts laying around) So I have to wonder what it is that you guys are running hardware wise and how its configured software wise thats causing the issues, as again aside from the lighting graphic corruption I have NO issues at all. (I usually play 6-8 horus at a time on the weekends without a single CTD, let alone blue screen) Almost forgot, System specs: AMD Phenom 2 965 x4 BE 8GB DDR3 -2000, Gforce GTX580 (3gb ram) OS on 1 SSD 120GB and game client on Raid 0 2TB 7000 RPM (250-280 MB r/w / sec) Looks like I break the rule of nvidia issues with Phenom 2's
  11. I stopped playing MMO's because they got boring, repetitive, and just plain unenjoyable for me. I have been playing MMO's since EQ, played EVERY major MMO launch since then (1998) and its been a hell of a ride. One thing I like about SW: Tor is that they managed to take a single player storyline and incorporate it into an MMO which is something others have tried and failed at. Having said that I also want to add that I dont just skip reading quest text dialogs in previous MMO's and miss the immersion factor, they just didnt pull me in like SW: Tor does. I have been playing MMO's long enough that I find that SW: TOR has had an incredibly successful launch, and all the threads I see about missing content, or bugs that havent been addressed yet are either trolls or people who have no knowledge of how games are made and how they are supported. I cant say where I work, but suffice to say that I work in the video game making industry, and I know what is involved in making major AAA title games and I am very pleased with SW:TOR. I look forward to a fun ride as this game grows and matures. Congratulations folks! and thanks!
  12. I wouldnt mind some UI mods that did things like allow you to change text size, hotbar position, etc. I however DO NOT want mods or macros in the game, as those are the tools of the lazy and unskilled. I have never had to macro in ANY MMO (played EVERY MAJOR PTP MMO that launched since EQ) and I have always been in the above average range with parses for DPS, able to hold aggro playing tanks, and keep a group/raid up as a healer. PLEASE do not add macros!
  13. I feel the exact same way. Graphics dont make up for bad gameplay, but great gameplay cannot make up for graphics (imo). If I am going to be looking at a game for hours on end, I want to enjoy looking at that game. And SW: Tor's textures leave a LOT to be desired. And the shadow textures, its like Skyrim where the shadows are like 512x512 resolution at best. I hope that they release a texture pack upgrade by this time next year (This wouldnt be something they could do right away I expect, it would take a LOT of time and money, even to resample the existing textures) so that those of use that have comps built for cutting edge gaming can really pump up the graphics on this game as nothing out on the market can slow my machine down. That being said, I wasnt going to play SW:TOR because of the graphics, but decided to give it a go anyways, ended up spending my ENTIRE weekend playing the game (I get 3 day weekends every week). In this case the gameplay makes up for the graphics Lol, but I still would love to see higher resolution textures.
  14. I also have this issue. I am running the current Nvidia Beta drviers, 295 something or other I think, card never gets past 70C, and my machine is currently more than enough to run the game. I do not believe this to be a driver issue as I have no issues in any other games, and its not a temp issue as my temps are fine. I believe it to be a client issue in the code and can only be fixed by a patch from Bioware. We will see, I hope I am wrong and there is an easy fix to this, but that is what I think the issue is.
