  1. I tried this out but I found I had major Rage sustainment issues. If you have no Rage problems in this spec, then i say "Some more elaboration is required."
  2. What I would like to know is has it been officially stated somewhere that "tanks are not meant to have aggro on every mob"? If it has been officially stated, ok. I think that is "un-fun" and poor game design, but thats my personal preference. I can move on if this is the case. If it has NOT been officially stated, then why the heck do players keep spouting this stuff like they designed the game? If you want to offer work-arounds or whatever, fine. But dont say things like "this is how tanking is supposed to work in SWTOR!" You have no authority to claim what is and isnt "supposed to be". I just wish the devs would come out and officially say "the game isnt designed for tanks to maintain aggro on every mob in a single encounter" OR "we're aware aggro management is an issue, we are looking into fixing it". If this HAS been stated somewhere, I would greatly appreciate a link.
  3. I used to look like Darth Vader. Now my Columi gear makes me look like a friggin Decepticon.
  4. Add and AoE force-pull to the AoE taunt. It doesnt need to work in pvp.
  5. I completely agree - 5 min is way too long. Especially now that they are nerfing the damage!
  6. wow... those grenades have a FIVE MINUTE cooldown... that makes them not really super useful. Grendades should get the cooldown reduced, not the damage! If their hearts are set on reducing damage, definitely reduce the cooldown please!
  7. so just add "and pulls all affected targets to your location if they are an enemy NPC." to our AoE taunt. Problem solved. long-ish cooldown, decent range, you were using it for multi-mob management anyway. Just dont let it work on players and its not OP. Saying we shouldnt be tanking all the mobs is just bad. That may or may not be the design intent, but it is a terrible solution imo and no fun at all.
  8. I just can't understand why there would be such a long cooldown (5 min!) on the reusable grenades that Cybertechs can make with a Biometric Crystal Alloy. Other classes like Biochem get things that are arguably more useful (medpacs!) on a much lower cooldown - like 90 seconds. I dont think it would be overpowered or unbalancing at ALL to bring the cooldown on these grenades down to 90 seconds. 5 minutes is just way too long! If anyone with any influence reads this, PLEASE consider lowering the cooldown on grenades!
  9. I've completed the Black Talon HM in as little as 25 min, so its not too terribly bad to farm Biometric Crystal Alloys that way. Every HM final boss seems to have a 100% chance to drop one. Also, i got one from the first boss in EV. So you dont need to complete the entire Operation for a chance at one there.
  10. YES. I strongly agree with the OP! Good post. I understand we are the "single target" tanks, and thats fine. But I should still be able to hold aggro on one linked group of mobs. That is my job. Mobs are way too spread out and stay that way. An AoE force pull would be amazing, altho there might be minor balance issues in pvp. But on a 1 min cooldown I dont really see it causing a big problem in pvp and pulling multiple pvp people to you in AE could really get you dead quick anyway. Extra threat generation on Sweeping Slash would not be overpowered at ALL and would also really help imo. You can get a small group lined up to be hit by it, but there are always 1 or 2 mobs outside the pack that you will have to grab with taunt or whatever too. The fact that using sweeping slash repeatedly burns so much rage would really prevent this change from making it "easymode" AE tanking. In any case, something really should be done about this. Single target being our strength is fine, but we need the tools to keep aggro on a single group of mobs when they are all spread out (like they always are!)
  11. choose NEED on items that are an UPGRADE for your main toon. choose GREED for anything that is not. Its too easy. If something is not an upgrade, but you really want it for the appearance or its a huge upgrade for your favorite companion, i think it is okay to ASK if you can roll Need and state why. I dont always feel comfortable doing this with strangers but usually with friends its np. I have no idea what the "disassemble" button does, as i've experimented with it and it seems to carry the same priority as Greed. They should add a "Companion Needs" button, imo. It would have priority over Greed but Need would still be first priority.
  12. This is really very disappointing! I was hoping that in time she would accept her role as my slave, even if she didnt like it, and there would be a slave story arc.
  13. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a WoW player, past or present. I really agree with th OP. I don't -need- this stuff but nitpicking that word is pointless. You dont -need- to have fun either, if u want to be THAT technical. Combat logs are HUGELY beneficial, and add a LOT of fun to my gameplay. I really enjoy this game but it's been SO annoying not being able to go back and look at details of a fight. "Target of my target" is another hugely useful tool. Not as much for dps, but for healers and tanks it makes things much more intuitive and less tedious. I really dont see any reason NOT to have this. The UI in this game is a huge disappointment. Its nowhere near the quality of the rest of the game. It really should be a LOT more customizable in everything from hotbars to chat windows to moveable/resizable windows. Everyone seems to want this, I just don't get how they dropped the ball so bad on this aspect of the game. Understand, I don't want the game to be easier. I enjoy challenging gameplay. These changes aren't to "omg make the game easier," they are to make it less cumbersome and more fun without taking away from the skill needed to play.
  14. I think it's great that we have so many abilities. You think this is a lot try playing eq2! I'm glad they didn't copy the over-simple WoW style. Complexity is fun. They REALLY need to fix the UI tho. Allow more hotbars, resizing hotbars, and moving them to wherever you want. Seriously, the awful UI is the only thing I really can't stand about this game (besides maybe the lack of combat logs).
  15. Agreed! This is one of many basic MMO tools I was surprised to find lacking in swtor.
