  1. I've been trying to delete this thread for a while. Does anybody know how?
  2. Thanks all! It turns out that my character's eyes are fine, i just hadn't had a cut-scene in a long time and i had been trying to verify her appearance via the select-screen. I've been playing the game without a mouse, so i'm not sure what the keyboard equivalent is to the left mouse-button. As for YouTube, i watched the video of someone who had a character in the Beta. His Jedi Knight was Tier II Dark Side and the corruption showed up in the select-screen, which is why i was trying to use it to see my character's corruption. For proof, here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7LZFS5DGbI. I am very surprised to learn this feature was not implemented in the final game. I didn't know there were any alignment-free relics. Since there are Light I and Dark I equipments but no Light I or Dark I relics, i just assumed they would become available with the Neutral vendor along with Neutral gear and relics.
  3. My net alignment is -1100, i.e. Dark I. However i have a lot of both Dark and Light Side points (obviously more Dark Side). Is that true? The select screen shows corruption in all the YouTube videos i've seen. Is there a way to make it show up on the select screen? That might be the problem, since i don't know how to "zoom in" and it's been a while since my last cutscene. I'm not sure that was an option when creating a Twi'lek. I'm role-playing: my character isn't extremely Dark Side. She just strays in the Dark Side, being a zealot and following the Code of Rajivari, but otherwise being a good Jedi. Also, i hear they're adding a Neutral vendor soon, which will probably have equipment for Light I and Dark I.
  4. My path to the Dark Side has been very slow and gradual. Perhaps having a lot of Light Side points limits the effect of corruption even if the difference is Dark Side? Also, i only plan to be in the Dark I phase; I don't plan to move on to Dark II. But i still want my yellow eyes! >_<
  5. Outside of whether it is included in game, my suspicion is that those who tap heavily into their emotions, whether Light or Dark, can have their appearance altered. That is what i suspect happened to Grand Master Satele Shan. Jedi rely upon meditation and introspection for strength and attune themselves to the will of The Force, instead of the Light Side per se. Thus, it makes sense that most don't undergo any kind of "Force corruption." They view (perhaps correctly) that emotion, whether Light or Dark, distorts ones connection to The Force. However, Revan once hypothesized that if a Jedi were to tap into positive emotions like joy, hope, compassion, love, etc., that he or she could draw strength from them and become more powerful. (See the novel Star Wars The Old Republic: Revan.) As an aside, Revan himself learned to use all his emotions for strength eventually. Almost prophetically, this seems to be the case with his descendant Satele, as her appearance drastically altered along with her noticeable increase in power. However, her strength seems to come exclusively from positive emotions, like Revan's hypothetical Jedi. Instead of her dark blue eyes turning yellow, they became a brilliant electric blue that seems to radiate in an unnatural way. Instead of her skin becoming pale and showing veins, she became more beautiful. She shows signs of age like anyone else, but her physical features have retained these characteristics. Now granted, Satele doesn't rely exclusively upon her emotions. She still practices meditation and gaining peace of mind like any other Jedi. But she draws enough strength from her emotions that The Force has influenced her appearance not unlike how dark emotions influence the appearance of the Sith. Even in the movies the degree to which The Force influences a character's appearance varies from character to character. My theory is that this has to do with where they fall on the scale of peace versus emotion, in addition to that of Light and Dark. For example, Darth Sidious and Darth Maul both rely almost exclusively upon their emotions, hence their appearances (also briefly Anakin, after he turned to the Dark Side but before he went "full Sith" at the end of Episode III). However, Dark Side users such as Count Dooku and Darth Vader, who are more attuned to the will of the Force and are familiar with the ways of the Jedi, retain normal-looking appearances despite clearly being on the Dark Side. (In The Force Unleashed and in Episode VI, Darth Vader has normal-looking eyes under his helmet.) All of this is speculation on my part, and is not canon. But bringing all of this back to the topic of whether or not player appearance should change when following the Light Side, I think that it would have to be implemented carefully if at all. Because the Jedi traditionally embody both Light and peace, it would be difficult to show Force corruption in Light Side players unless you were to create a separate meter for peace versus emotion. That might work for a sequel or expansion, but it would be too difficult to implement without drastic changes to the game. That or Force corruption should be limited to extremely Light Side characters, such as those who reach Light V. That or maybe an on/off could be included like for Sith corruption?
  6. I have a level-25 red-skinned Twi'lek Jedi Counselor with blue eyes. She just recently reached Dark I, however she has yet to show any sign of Sith Corruption. I have Sith Corruption turned on in preferences, but it still hasn't done anything. I've also tried toggling it on and off, but that hasn't worked either. I've read that at the Dark I stage, ones character is supposed to get yellow/orange eyes, but my character's eyes are still blue. I haven't made exclusively Dark Side choices, but i've heard that that doesn't matter. If anyone has a similar difficulty, or has the answer to my question, please let me know. (Unrelatedly, if anyone knows how to delete a thread, that would be helpful too.) Thanks in advance.
  7. You should be fine. It takes several quests before T7 joins up with you permanently. He'll join up with you by the end of the class quests on Tython. I'm really curious about what happens if you're a Dark Jedi and a jerk to T7 all the time. I suppose he eventually betrays you... too bad i'll never find out.
  8. Mace Windu is not a Dark Jedi in my opinion. That said, Mace's decision to kill Palpatine instead of taking him in during Episode III was a Dark Side decision. This was the culmination of the Palpatine's manipulation, as this convinced Anakin that there was no real difference between the Jedi and the Sith, that the Jedi talked the talk but didn't walk the walk. But unlike the Jedi, Palpatine's Sith teachings could help him to save his wife.... Notice that Windu uses the same excuse for trying to kill Palpatine as Palpatine gives for why Anakin needed to kill Dooku earlier in the movie: "He was/is too dangerous to be left alive." This is no doubt intentional on Lucas's part, demonstrating how Anakin could come to view the Jedi as hypocrites. This is also clearly indicative of Dark Side thinking, as the Light Side values life above all else and demands that violence and killing be absolute last resorts only. Granted, when Anakin stood by as Palpatine killed Windu and yelled "UNLIMITED POWER!!!" that was also Dark Side. The Light Side course of action would have been to prevent Windu from killing the seemingly unarmed Palpatine, then cutting off Palpatine's hands to prevent him from killing Windu, and then bringing Palpatine in to the authorities. No one said following the Light was easy! All that said, this is still controversial among fans, as they debate back and forth about whether Windu's actions were justified. Even so, it is my impression is that exposing Palpatine by taking him to the authorities would have done more good in the long-run then merely killing him, as this might have prevented Anakin's fall and revealed Palpatine's true colors to the greater galaxy. Edit: I don't think that Windu would have "fallen" if he had killed Palpatine, and it is possible that it was "the Will of The Force" to kill Palpatine, since The Force has greater knowledge than any one individual. But it certainly wasn't the will of the Light Side, and thus still qualifies as a Dark Side decision. Personally, i think the Will of The Force is expressed through Anakin throughout the story. Even Anakin's becoming Vader and killing off the Jedi could be viewed as necessary to bringing about balance, as the Jedi in their current form were too extreme in condemning love and all emotion, something that would be corrected in Luke Skywalker's reborn order. Thus, with both the Sith and the Jedi destroyed, the thousands-of-years-old conflict between them was ended, The Force achieved "balance," and Luke was able to bring about a reasonable reconciliation between peace, passion, and emotion in the form of the New Jedi Order.
  9. This is kind of a stupid question, i know, but i was going through the dialogue options for the first meeting with Darth Lachris as a Sith Inquisitor, and i never asked her opinion about the Republic's willingness to go to war. (I so wish i hadn't brought Khem Val along, since that got me paranoid about my dialogue.) Anyway, i am genuinely curious about what she says. Does she make a realistic or paranoid assessment of the enemy's intentions?
