  1. *Facepalm* - please tell me where bioware said that you have to be lvl 50, your main goal has to be to get lvl 50? Where do they say only those with lvl 50 are valued customers? Because if i have overlooked such thing, i will apologize and leave, because i have misunderstood what kind of game this is. If not, then I demand to treat all theirs customers fairly. This isn't race, this isn't competition, this is MMORPG and we play as we see fit. And if not, then Bioware is misleading customers. Any ingame reward for beign lvl 50 is ok. Touching real money for ingame achievments - well, unless SWTOR became f2p suddenly, i would say this is very wrong and has to be corrected.
  2. Utterly, completely wrong. They do bussiness? Yes. So do I. This is my business with them. I pay money, they let me play. I won't pay - they won't me play. Simple, fair trade. But now they say - ok, you got level 50, you don't have to pay for 1 month. You don't have lvl 50 - you pay extra 15 bucks. WHAT? This is not business. This is simple punishment for everyone, who did not managed to get lvl 50. Ok, let's take it this way - you have cable tv, and suddenly you get info, that because they had big problems with network upgrade last month, they decided to give one month as apology to everyone but those who watch less then 4 hours a day. And that's you. Would you still feel like it's ok, because it's YOUR fault you don't spend so much time watching TV? This is not about how much money. It's about principle, moral stance. It's about to not let **** on yourself. And if they make money? Why should I care? It's not my concern. All I want a product for a price I'm willing to pay with a feeling I got a fair trade. If they breake that - why should I stay silent? You can't buy a Loyalty. You have to earn it. You have to prove there is a reason i put my trust in you. And Bioware screwed up. Hell i wasn't thinking about leaving this game for at least few months. Now, i really don't think i want to stay.
  3. I think you miss a point. It's not about "i don't have lvl 50 cause i'm slow". It's about that we play a game we enjoy it, we believe in "fair and even grounds". We often likes to Roleplay or just socialize or whatever. But suddenly Bioware says they gives you a 15 bucks for your hard work to get to level 50. Since when this game became a job? Where do they say if you work hard, you get money?? Free subscription time is acceptable for example as: - Long time veteran reward (in term how long you are subsribed) - Appologies for major problems (server downtime etc) - Advertising. But it should allways be fair trade not involving the time and effort you spend in game - unless you build game around it, which SWTOR isn't. THIS is what makes me angry. Should have they choosed any other type of ingame rewards, i wouldn't care. 7 days free times for those no longer subscribed - I don't care, that's usual marketing. But saying I have to pay more than others just because i didn't managed to get lvl 50 in 4 monts - sorry no. My money. Oh and btw, in some countries, this would be unlawfull behaviour and Bioware could get sued.
  4. Nah, i don't think he used Machiavelli, doesn't fit it. Machiavelli never rised to power or machinations like Palpatine does. He was more philosopher, especialy when he lost. Armand Jean du Plessis, Cardinal-Duc de Richelieu et de Fronsac on other side, now there is close resemblance to Palpatine. Beign a French at that time he got quite a few points in machinations, backstabing and forcefull diplomacy skills
  5. And who are you, o blessed one, that you are telling me how I should play a game and how much time should i spend with each character? If you are unable to accept others people prefferences, please /quit and go play COD, you fit there better.
  6. I don't know what's wrong with BioEa. Have they got market guys from reality agencies, or someone from Ubisoft came over? This is probably worst possible way to show theirs appreciation for our continued support. If they would keep it as ingame reward, sure, why not. Even better if they said that this ingame reward will go to anyone, who will, say, managed also hit lvl 50 in April. Then i could make choice to concentrate on 1 char only to get him fast to lvl 50, or not with full underestanding what I will lose because of it. But to suddenly reward basicaly one way of playing, and what's even worst, if you thnk of it - in a way that is actualy stealing money from all players who doesn't play a way Bioware think they should - that's a low one. This game has its issues (way too small groups, inability to raise instance levels for better challenge and other MMO things it misses) but in general I'm enjoying it. But if they think they can steal my money - sorry, no game. It's kinda paradox, but I never considered playing Tera before, but i guess i'll give it a go - or finish other excelent single player games till Secret World and Guild Wars 2 comes out. It's a second time this year Bioware managed to screw up so hard. Guess theirs time of great game makers is ending.
  7. Bathrobe - your comment is great, it gave me something to think about, thanks. But you are talking about PvP here, while thread is more about leveling sentinels. I think this is where Focus actualy shines more also due to higher damage mitigation. Watchman is probably ok for leveling (never tried that tbh, never liked that tree), but for Combat tree i have found myself rather very squishy even with blue/purples gears. Also Zeal ability for Ataru form feals a bit like... meh... So for middle game leveling, i find Focus as most enjoyable spec. Might change at lvl 50 PvPs, but first i have to get there.
  8. The question is - was EVERY shadow you have met so far Kinetic combat specced? Were they build to be a tank? Or were they more or less forced to be tanks since your groups couldn't get Vanguard/Guardian? Shadows have to think more about their gearing and stats when it comes to tanking. If Guardian is using normally dps stance and switch to Soresu form for tanking, his allready high armor kicks in and he does ok tank. Throw in shield generator and you are mostly done for normal heroics/group content. When Shadow who is oriented for crits and high burst damage switch on tanking ability, he stays on par with guardian in offensive stance at best. And that's not that resilient. Shadow tanks has to build up defense, shield rating and use shields instead of focus. Then they became fine tanks who has a little bit lower damage flat damage mitigation from armor, but makes up for it with high avoidance and shield chance. Plus a lot of utility. I did quite a bit of tanking with my balance shadow when we couldn't get tanks and for that purpose i keep shield generator in my backpack, but i never expected (and my group knew that) that it will be easy or light on healers.
  9. Ehm... Scoundrel has shotgun. Last time i checked, that still counts as ranged weapon. Sure, can't hit anything past 4 meters, but that's not relevant here And blaster whip or kick in nuts/oil pump doesn't counts melee weapon either. I think that's what he was pointing at
  10. Whole thread you act so high and mighty, yet what i see is that it is actualy you who fails to underestand some game basic aspects - that and you really lack social skills. To get to level 28 you can easily spend most time soloing and low level flashpoints/heroics are not really that challenging to force you to get best from your skills. You also fail pretty hard to uderestand that people have different playstyle and skill, something you undrestand immedietly others might not get at all. Or maybe they are trying to something new and see if it pays off. In many random groups i have been in, be it heroics or flashpoints, i have met people you would describe as confused - sages overusing force tremor or using too ofthen the only melee skill they had, crazy eng. snipers blowing everything with aoe etc... Yet in 9 of 10 cases (though usualy it helped when we got wiped out) when i simply started to suggest our tactics and playstyle to overcome challenges, people listened or added their own ideas. After a bit of chat we have agreed on some basic tactics, targeting rules etc... and finished mission nice and clean without enforcing exact playstyle to anyone unless it was really needed for hard boss - in which case people usualy do underestand the need for that. Your point of view may be valid for hard mode flashpoints and such, but if you play those with random groups, you usualy agreed first that everyone knows theirs roles and tactics. That is unless you pair with elites who knows what to do without telling them.... So while that scoundrel might not have used optimal playstyle, it's you who lacks ability to lead and cooperate. In my group it would be more likely you who would be politely forced out of group - I rather do things slower and explain few things to "confused" but nice people than have to deal with "elite" player who lacks basic social manners.
  11. Have to agree with Anamelle, chat bubbles does not fit into SW. It's ok for many other MMOs, mostly asian, but there are MMOs where it would looks just silly, swtor included. I agree though that UI needs a big redesign including the chat look and feel to better help with filtering general spam from yells/says/roleplay. Best if we could change bars sizes and have multiple chat windows open (i like to have says/yells on bottom screen). But chat bubbles would turn this in some kind of silly comics. I would expect to meet then longear halfnaked alien soon.... I guess it would be ok to have it as optional feature you can turn on, but to have better immersion it would be imo better, if character that says something did some kind of dialogue animation.
