Here's the thing for me. I want to heal in flashpoints but I prefer to level up as DPS. Or sometimes I might get bored with DPS and want to be a tank, for example. I would love to be able to switch between the two. Also, it just fun to change companions but it doesn't make sense (or at least it's not ideal) to use a healing companion if you are a healer or a DPS companion if you are DPS. So dual spec allows for more versatility. Yea you can respec for free but really that's a pain if you do it often. I'm not sure why some people are so opposed to dual spec, is it because WoW had it and heavens forbid we don't want to be like WoW!. It's not like it's a game breaker and nobody would be forced to dual spec.
