  1. Hey there. I've recently returned the the game a few days ago after being away since 1.1. Myself and a friend who's new to the game ended up getting to the point where we figured it'd be a good idea to find a guild so we'd have other players to play with. Mainly just looking for a guild that's active in PvP, HM FPs, and Ops. While also being friendly towards new/returning players (Haven't done an Op since KP released). So having a guild that isn't just focused on HM and NiM Ops would be ideal haha. Anyways looking forward to seeing who would be willing to accept us!
  2. Hey there. I've recently got back in to swtor after being away for 3 1/2 years and also managed to get a friend of mine to give it a shot (He's hooked now). We're both learning/re-learning the game, but we've come to the point we figured finding other players to play with would be ideal. Mainly looking for a Republic guild that's active in multiple content aspects of the game (FPs, Ops, PvP etc), but is also open to taking in newer players and willing to teach mechanics for Ops and so on. I myself haven't done any of the Ops since Palace was released so I'm clueless after that haha. Anyways looking forward to seeing what guilds are out there!
  3. I've done almost everything minus Nightmare EV, I've never EVER seen a use for 15 seconds off our AoE Taunt. NEVER.
  4. Wait what? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101dMGcubrouRZhGM.1
  5. How exactly can you put jugg DPS as worthless in Raiding? Other than judging from Tool tips of damaging abilities., you can't really put Jugg DPS as not a "Main" roll in Raiding. There is no possible way currently to get any viable source of information towards DPS output sadly. Right now it's all speculation. Now don't get me wrong. There is clearly other classes that out damage juggs such as mercs. Yes bringing a merc over a jugg would result in an overall DPS gain (If both players were on a even skill level also), but what I'm just saying is. You can't claim a spec of a class worthless . As for the risk of taking damage. Maras are at the same risk. Hell I'd even put maras at a higher risk than juggs due to the fact Juggs can intercede out if needed and if someone was in range. All melee in this game is actually at a high risk of taking damage. Hell melee in a lot of MMOs is at higher risk.
  6. Yes juggs need AoE threat help. Though we are not Broken. Broken = Unplayable. I've MTed 4/5 HM EV without any issues. I do notice errors and what could help us keep AoE threat. Yes Sin and PT tanks do have it easier for sure. Like the OP said. Just focus on the threat of the pack (Elite > Strong > Norms) Norms hit for nothing and die in about 1-2 seconds. I don't even bother picking them up anymore unless that's all there is or every other major threat is dead.
  7. I understand why you'd want to not be locked this way. Though it opens up a lot of ways for people to take advantage of it. Guilds would be able to just run certain core raiders through with 7/15 people on alts and gear them out without worrying about loot being shared and so on.
  8. Read this. It well cover almost everything you need to know. http://sithwarrior.com/forums/Thread-Immortal-Defense-Compendium-A-Tank-s-Guide-To-The-Galaxy
  9. They have focus targets. Other than that I agree to pretty much everything else so +1
  10. I hit 50 in about 15 days. I didn't sit on my computer 12hrs+ a day or anything crazy like that. I do work nights (Not full time though) So I had other stuff to take care of besides leveling. I didn't Spacebar any of the class quest story and the majority of the other quests. The only ones I really did spacebar through were either quest stories that didn't interest me at all or little side mission (Such as Go kill these because they did this) People just have a different pace and some people don't get focuses in to questing as much as others. Yes there are a lot of people who really don't have much going on so they spent 12hrs+ a day just leveling.
  11. A list would be awesome, I don't know of any. Though I'm on the same page as you. I've got no idea what my Gear should be like before jumping in to FP HMs or EV.
  12. Immortal in pvp is more of a Support or a Huttball carrier. If you want to focus more on DPS in pvp, just go Rage. It's got good burst and AoE burst. I'm not a big pvper so others who focus more towards that will probably have better advice
  13. They need to be adjusted a bit for sure. Though people are making it seem like Jugg tanks are in the "Worthless" State. Which is False.
  14. People use Jugg tanks in HM EV, so they are 100% viable
  15. 1. Turn spell queue off it took away that delay feel on spells for me anyways. 2. I don't know how, you must not be modding/gearing correctly or are focusing on str over endurance. I was always a head of people when it came to heal unless they out leveled me by 3-4+ 3. Armor makes a difference, if you kill it in 30 seconds and he kills in in 10, you're taking another 20 seconds of damage. I can deal with elites just fine with a DPS or a healing companion at 44, I could also back at 28 so not sure how you're having huge issues there. 4. Well thats good, are you gearing correctly? Keeping your mods up dated? Also GEAR the hell out of your companions also, hell even have them out gear you. If you're using Vette you NEED to have her geared. Being under geared is going to lead to issues. 5. As immortal at your level anyways 80% of your DPS comes from Vette. Later on in the 40s or so is when I noticed I was able to do enough dps to kill efficiently enough to use Quinn to level with..and lets just say it's pretty awesome now. I've been able to handle 1-2 Strongs and 4 normal mobs at once =/ this is with Quinn though at 42 or so at the time. Anyways, yes Juggs are weaker then most of the other Classes in the leveling arena for sure. Though I wouldn't go as far and say that we're EXTREMELY Underpowered. We do need some tweaks and DPS buffs, but we're still 100% viable to level to 50.
  16. Leveled as Immortal since about 20, currently 44. for the first 20 or so levels I used vette/jaesa. Once I started to have down time as immortal (Channeling after every 1-2 pulls) I just said screw it and geared Quinn and now i'm running with Quinn as Immortal. I REALLY like it. It's a little bit slower on the killing side, but I have VERY little down time. The DPS as immortal isn't really as bad as people make it seem. As long as you know what you're doing I can clear Strongs fairly quick and groups of normal mobs die in seconds. Elites are where I notice the difference in killing time the most, but the overall speed it takes me to kill them if fine. Just simple Pro/Con list. For immortal spec with Quinn. Pros - Pretty much no down time - You can recover easy if you pull extra - You're a tank, Heroic/Flashpoint groups are simple to find. - If you plan to tank at 50 you already geared towards it. Cons - Slower killing speed - No Jaesa
  17. True, though I think some people at least the ones I pay attention to. Main issues is that Juggs have to work 10x more than a BH or Sin tank to be just as viable. Though like you said, just don't be lazy. Personally I like that juggs are more challenging it will show later on who is a good jugg and so on. Though a lot of people will dislike this people will learn and it will stop. p.s Juggs have the best CDs for tanking which will be a huge plus
  18. You will start to shine in later levels mid 30s to 40s for dps juggs. Though sorcs and BH will still probably be more DPS than a jugg at 50 currently, though buffs are coming in the next patch to bump them closer. Though they're still viable dps now anyways.
  19. Been leveling as Pure immortal since lvl 21 or so. Currently level 34. Building as a tank now (Focusing on endurance as a main stat then defense rating and absorb for my other main focuses) I just use vette and GEAR HER OUT. If you don't gear vette you might find leveling slow or not that good as immortal. Anyways I just tank everything and I've had 0 issues so far. The leveling speed is fine, very little down time. Elites are a joke to get passed and so on. Also being able to find Heroic and Flashpoint groups easier is a plus. Though from what i've read the 40s is where juggs start to see a challenge so I'll probably re post once I'm there. As for my current build this is the one i'm using. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101dMGcubroz.1 If you have a bunch of Mod gear, make sure you update the mods as much as possible. p.s I currently have 0 relics (Messed up my LS/DS so i'm only DS T1) which is a downfall due to the good amount of Endurance i'm losing. So don't make the same mistake I did, for that extra 40 or so endurance will help quite a bit.
  20. Server forums are needed, there really isn't any argument towards no having them. Bioware is more than capable of adding them and having mods for each forums. I'd be very surprised if they didn't add them. Though if they aren't added some other community site will come up and these forums will more than likely be dead (Minus technical forums and so on)
  21. Oh and for low level tanking.. It's time to marry your "Tab" Key.
  22. All I did when I was getting in to tanking as really this list of things. - Research: Keep up to date on changes and anything new that people found to improve the class - Talk with other tanks: Get to know other good players who play the same tanking class as you, If they're not a dick just talk with them. Give them your thoughts and they prety much end up to be a theory crafting buddy In groups if you feel like you're lacking in some area just note it. Look it up to see if your class may actually be lacking in that area or if you're doing something wrong just fix it. If people start to get angry with you in groups explain what the issue is. If it's a DPS being a tunnel vision ******* attacking mobs that you're not focusing on speak up. If it's just the fact you're still getting the hang of your roll explain that you're not the most experience tank, but you are actually putting the effort in to improve. Those are some of the things I did. It all really comes down to you getting the feel for your class. Once you got that it's simple and you improve quite fast. If you're scared to go in to a group with 3 other random people. Go in with friends or guild members. They tend to be a bit more reasonable.
