  1. What I keep hearing while playing my Rep toons: "Man, Rep on this server sucks at Warzones! Imp is so much better!" What I keep hearing while playing my Imp toons: "Man, Imp on this server sucks at Warzones! Rep is so much better!" Whiners gon' whine.
  2. A talent deep in Anni tree: Every time one of your bleeds get cleansed/removed, you gain a 50% damage bonus to your next Annihilate. Lasts 15 seconds, stacks up to 2 times.
  3. Like the title says, can this be done? Before I waste my precious ranked comms on something that doesnt work. For clarification, I'm wondering if doing this would be a cheap way of getting EWH level tech power from my generator.
  4. Vanguards (Assault) should have nothing but nerfs incoming, enjoy it while it lasts! (I have one myself, so effective, so easy.)
  5. Until you get more experience and better gear, just try keeping your distance from the enemy/enemies. Kite that single melee opponent with your snare from Ion Pulse, and always take a few steps back from that clump of enemies (although it is always tempting to go in for a Stockstrike). Heck, just spam Hammer Shots and Impact Bolts from 30m until you find an opportunity close in on an enemy who stands a bit separated from his group - and don't chase him when he runs back to his comrades. You will not be playing the class to it's full potential this way of course, but it's a place to start. Even later on, always keeping the correct distance is key to playing this class.
  6. Like somebody already mentioned, spreading out is a tactic with great penalty for melee class. Say my team is melee heavy and we need to focus the enemy healer - no sir can't do that, you gotz to spread out yo. The biggest hit in the game is an instant AoE with minimum setup, guaranteed crit and low cooldown - good game design right there!
  7. First I played a Sentinel to valor 60, and thought they pretty damn good. Then I played a Vanguard to valor 60, and realised that Marauders were easily the toughest opponents to face. Now, I see 1.2 brings nothing but a TON of buffs for Sents/Marauders. I really don't know how this is supposed to work out?
  8. The 80% speed from Trancendence is being moved from deep Watchman tree to deep Combat. Additionally, it will now affect the whole operation and not just 4 people. And Combat will build centering as fast as Watchman always has. Dunno about you guys, but I'll be zooming around at 80% speed ALL-THE-TIME.
  9. Won't that build be quite limited by ammo regen?
  10. This sounds great dude. May I ask what CPU / RAM / OS you are using?
  11. Crank up your settings to max. Wait until there are 200+ people on the Fleet. Go stand in the middle of the biggest crowd you can find. Now zoom in, and start running in circles so that your camera rotates around the room. THEN tell me you have 50 FPS. Please.
  12. I suspect, as Kourage already pointed out, that this option is mainly meant to help people with very low-end hardware. I myself only play WZ's, and with the popularity of Sorcerors my screen is always filled with lightning effects in every direction. My FPS is fine when running around the WZ where not much is happening, even small scale combat (preferrably with no Sorcs involved...), but the game just becomes unbearable when the action heats up in my field of view. Whether I run at the High or Low graphics preset makes a neglible difference - which makes sense I guess, as none of the game's settings alter the quality of particle effects. I have been using the tweak which involves renaming a game file and thereby making the game not render any spell effects - which makes even the most intense (8 vs 8) combat wonderfully smooth. This introduces some unpleasant sideeffects though...
  13. Awesome! Maybe it would be helpful if people posted their hardware setup along with their experience of the new ultra low settings? Me: 3Ghz Core2Duo, HD5750, 6Gb RAM. No improvement in FPS (I used the lowest possible settings even before this patch)
  14. I was very much looking forward to this change. Sadly, it has no perceivable effect on my game's poor performance (FPS). I know there's are as many hardware setups to cater to as there are game subscribers, and that performance problems can be caused by many different things. And I applaud the game developers for implementing a change that I'm sure will help some players. I just really hope this isn't the end of those efforts. For me, none of the game settings (except shadows) seem to have much effect on my FPS. Low or High, when my screen gets filled with Force Lightnings, fires and sparkly shields my FPS plummets in the same fashion. Could we not be given a option to reduce the spell effects? It seems pretty certain that that's what is causing at least my FPS woes.
  15. If this "true level" is supposed to be a measure of leveling effort, it would make much more sense to add up the SQUARE of your alts' levels. Player A: One level 50 characters Simple addition = 50 * 1 = 50 levels Squared levels = 50^2 * 1 = 2500 "level points" Player B: 5 level 10 characters Simple addition: 10 * 5 = 50 levels Squared levels = 10^2 * 5 = 500 "level points" This way one level 50 would equal to: 2 level 35's, or 3 level 29's, or 4 level 25's, or 5 level 22's, etc.
  16. An option like this is present in most MMORPGs, and lowering this setting is usually an enormous performance increase. In addition to that, I personally prefer the looks of less sparkles and explosions on my screen. I recently tried the "rename swtor_main_art_fx_1.tor" tweak (it disables ALL particle effects, unfortunately some essential graphical elements as well), and the smoothness of PvP-combat nearly made me weep tears of joy. So smooth! So easy to see what was going on around me! I would play with this tweak forever if only it didnt: 1. Remove the circle graphic beneath my current target 2. Remove the ground "pattern" of AoE effects and things like Stealth Scan 3. Make the Galaxy Travel map unusable 4. Maybe I would also prefer if speeders and saber blades didnt become invisible So anyways, here is my plea for a particle slider of some sort. Is anyone with me?
  17. If the upgrade isnt worth the credits for you, then all the better (for you). You have all the travel-convenience you need already at level 25!
  18. Would y'all have preferred them to be 50% / 80% / 110% instead? Just enjoy having almost maximum travelling speed as early as level 25 - I know I do.
  19. There is one in the game already - it's called the LFG system. If you want to join a group, tag yourself as LFG. If you want to put together a group, contact the people who have listed themselves as LFG. Too bad nobody actually uses this system, though.
  20. That's not helpful for me I'm afraid, as that will toggle off even the name. The name is the one thing I find relevant, and always want diplayed.
  21. Hi there! This is not a major concern by any means, but I'd like to throw this out there. Many MMORPG's allow the customization described in the title, and I would very much love to see it implemented in this game as well. I've always enjoyed keeping my screen free of as much "bloat" as possible, and one of the biggest sources of that is always each player's title/guild tag/surname/legacy etc. When you have up to 15 other players in your view in a Warzone (Not to mention 100+ players in the Fleet) it builds up to quite an obtrusive and un-immersive screen element, for me personally at least. I hope there are more players like me who enjoy a simplified view of the game world, and want to support this suggestion!
  22. You kind of got this backwards. It's not about staring at bars, it's about being able to get the information you need by just throwing quick glances at them. Which badly implemented bar animations make it that much more difficult to do.
