  1. Considering they just added an expansion less than half a year ago that added 5 levels, new sets, some pretty deep class mechanic changes, several new skills, I think you would get farther assuming you knew less than more. Maybe the issue is class composition? There are several classes I've personally heard that "aren't suited for ranked" that hold a host of new abilities and roles.

A new skill per AC, tree reworks, some major, most less so. Changes to gear and the new diminishing returns... All in all, not that deep or sweeping of a change.

I'm not arguing a specific change here, don't get me wrong, but the effort you need to put into countering the turtling team, vs the effort put into turtling is vastly disproportionate at this stage of the game.

  2. Of course, no I'm not a master strategist. I can't give you the super-secret to the defensive turtle, but I know one exists. A counter always exists, and eventually a team (maybe mine!) will find it, use it, and then we'll get a whole new wave of complaints about x,y,z being overpowered.

We've spent a good year and a half with the game now, many of us know the ins and outs of most, if not all ACs. Knowing what each class is capable of doing, and the synergy that can be achieved via VoIP...

I don't see it. To every counter that has been proposed, there is always a simple thing the defenders can do to negate any complex strategy.

And there is no simple way to counter the turtling.

  3. I like to imagine that the guild capital ships are part of the SSSP, though that's been absent from any discussion in a long while. As for the ships themselves, being able to choose what we get would be amazing.
  4. I had this happen to me yesterday. Today an even more interesting thing happened - VS started with 4 people and ended in 30s as nobody backfilled. Sorry I forgot to take a shot...
  5. I find that three people can, in fact, burn down an op healer, provided he has nobody else healing him.

The issue is not killing them, it their HPS output while kiting, and that is better by too large a margin compared to the other two healer ACs.

  6. I eat nothing but meat, 24 hours a day. I'm absolutely capped on protein.

However, I'm told that I need carbohydrates and vitamins to be as healthy as other people.

There is free bread and vegetables right over there, all I have to do is take the time to walk to it.

But I hate bread and think vegetables are boring. I absolutely refuse to eat them, no matter how easy they are to acquire, or that I can eat them in between eating meat.

Instead, I want butchers to start injecting my meat with carbohydrates and want the government to give me a free vitamin pill.

Cute analogy, but doesn't really apply here.
  7. How can you not enjoy walking to ~5m of the target, facing him, pressing tab and then open from stealth... Except you don't, because tab picked up someone 20m away and you get tagged by random AoE.
  8. Swimming in GW2 is awesome. If SW could immolate that, then it would be great. Imagine a WZ under the sea! ;)

    Laughed.

But yeah, I'd really love to see swimming in the game, since they said that if they ever added it, it would be more than just another way to cross terrain.

  9. Xerain talks a lot of smack but it's always well deserved... his trash talking is backed by logic, knowledge and skill
BM is accepted only from a select few elite players in their respective disciplines. It may be deserved, but it is definitely not welcome.
  10. Streak of five CWs, followed by three VS.

Clearly I'm imagining that this is something that I've never experienced prior to 2.0, since all the metrics show that everything is working as planned

  11. you should be able to burst down a healer from stealth with ease.
Not sure against what sort of healers you play, but any half-way decent healer is basically unkillable 1v1, unless you are able to catch them without most/any cd's, and yours are all up.

I've personally chased an operative around for the better part of two minutes in a game where I reached 870dps, and at no point did he drop below 10%. Once a guardian joined in we were able to take him down, and still that took more time than what is the burst after you open from stealth.
