  1. Marksman 1. How do you think your Sniper spec is perceived by other classes? Great DPS, some decent utility. Ranged dps is great for raids, mobility can be tricky. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? A ton of abilities to use, overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it there's an ability for almost every situation. Fantastic damage. Survival can be tough at times, but between cover pulse, shield evasion, leg shot, ambush knockback, 30m flashbang, diversion and debilitate there are plenty of options.
  2. Concealment 1. How do you think your Operative spec is perceived by other classes? Melee DPS has a hard enough time in PVE, without lackluster damage. Poor defensive abilities hurt during boss fights. We have no real raid utility like blood thirst, ballistic shield, other than crappy heals(which means we aren't DPSing) or a 15 second stealth. Reliance on positional abilities are impossible on some boss fights. Poor substitute for a Marauder, DPS Jugg or PT. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? No gap closer means we have to constantly run to the target (losing DPS), and of all the classes/specs I've played Concealment has, by far, the clunkiest rotation. There are too few "Concealment" attacks, and cool downs are a constant problem. It's the only spec I've seen where you can regularly run out of abilities to use (unless you count rifle shot, or go in to cover). Tricky energy regen generally means that you'll have to constantly weave in your baseline attack (rifle shot). This is also the only spec where I've had to constantly use this sort of basic attack at level 50. Minor Gripe: no knockback This Spec needs some serious help...the fact that Ops/Scoundrels are the only class almost unanimously reporting poor performance/perception should send up a big red flag.
  3. Unfortunately the loss of Acid Blade on backstab would cause a profound loss of PVE damage. The other issue here is likely there is no system in Warzones for supressing abilities, and there'd be no way to affect it in Open world PVP without making it restict you when you're pvp flagged. In a group if you buff someone who's flagged, you become flagged for 5 minutes...so that would be kind of rough. Adding a cast time to stealth would also very negatively affect dps in PVE. I definitely like the idea of lunge, but it would need a much longer cooldown. It would also make Ops the only class in the game that had a gapcloser/stun/high damage ability, so the damage would have to be toned down so as not to be considered OP. EDIT: This is completely meant in a constructive manner BTW. It's always good to see people trying to suggest realistic fixes.
  4. Hi all, I recently leveled a concealment Op to 50 (My main is a sniper) and for the life of me I just can't comprehend how a 1.5 sec stun, usable only from stealth, is worth 2pts. Am I missing something? or would those be points be better served in Pin Down or Scouting?
  5. But ambush+explosive probe are fun(one shot kill on weaker mobs)...and there's really no reason not to do it..
  6. Explosive probe is a single target ability that's great for burst damage. Once you get ambush, spam it while you're charging your attack and the two should go off simultaneously. Incendiary grenades are great for large groups. At level 16 the main problem is that you're missing some of the abilities that fill out your rotation, things like take down(finishing shot on mobs with 30% health) and (if you go marksman) followthrough that can really fill in the gaps between your attacks. I usually open with a crit Snipe(using laze) ->follow through -> 1.5 sec snipe+explosive probe (if it's still got health) then take down or snipe depending on it's health level During a longer against a special/elite/boss I'll use ambush again while follow through is still recharging. I'm 38 and have most of my points marksman. I never run out of energy with a good rotation. I have 2 points in engineering for the 10 extra energy to extend the threshold of full energy regen even further. The reason I don't usually open with ambush is that you would either follow it up with a follow through -> snipe, but then you have a gap when both follow through and ambush are still recharging. Not the end of the world but it can be annoying. You have to pay attention to be an efficient sniper, but I find it very rewarding.. btw my Snipers name is Juniper. If you see me on feel free to ask questions.
