  1. Yes, Uprisings were an excellent idea. They are different enough from Flashpoints that it feels unique and the amount of trash is purposely built so that fights feel fast and action packed. Too many people view things with such a negative aspect that they don't take enough time to appreciate things for what they are. They were never meant to be just like Flashpoints and this is a good thing. Branching out and trying to incorporate new, fun content is a good thing. I, for one, hope that they continue making them.
  2. Hey man can you rub your hands over my fries right quick? And quit inSALTing me lol. For real though, tell me how much sense it makes for a reflect to be on classes that don't use the force or wield a lightsaber? I don't care that Mandos/Mercs finally got a defensive buff when 5.0 hit but you should at least be able to see the point Im trying to make when I say that classes should get things that are thematically appropiate. - The Salty Patrician, not Pleb
  3. Saber Reflect was unique to Guardian's and Juggernaut's but now it seems like everybody has a reflect. The introduction of "utilities" in 3.0 removed most of the things that were unique about disciplines and gave it to everyone, except now we are shoehorned into using a select few because some utilities are MANDATORY for a discipline to operate properly. Commandos/Mercenaries and Scoundrels/Operatives do NOT need a Reflect. It does NOT fit their class' thematically whatsoever. Tell me, how many times have you seen a trooper, smuggler, or bounty hunter reflect anything in any other star wars content? Jedi/Sith have always been the ones that reflect/deflect blaster fire back and that is because they are empowered with the force. I propose reworking 'Back At YA / Blow For Blow' and 'Echoing Deterrence / Responsive Safeguards' into something that removes the reflect and reworks the abilities into something that fits their respective classes thematically. This is not to say that Commandos / Mercenaries did not need a defensive buff. Before 5.0, everyone complained about their survivability and I have no reason to say that they did not need to be buffed defensively. However, when introducing new abilities and utilities shouldn't the classes have something that fits thematically? Suggestion: Back At Ya/Blow For Blow - Dodge/Evasion grants Back At Ya/Blow For Blow. While active, every time you are attacked you throw a timed grenade at the enemy that detonates when Dodge/Blow For Blow ends. Stacks up to (X) times. (Uses Thermal Grenade and Fragmentation Grenade animations to throw grenade) Echoing Deterrence/Responsive Safeguards - Activates an advanced response system/Engages a defensive response system that absorbs all incoming direct single target damage for the next 6 seconds, and heals you for 5% of your maximum health each time an attack is absorbed. For every attack absorbed, your damage is increased by (X%) up to a maximum of (Y%) for (Z) seconds. Can be used while stunned. Even though Saber Reflect will no longer be unique to just Guardians/Juggernauts even with the above suggestions since Shadows/Assassins have access to it with Avenging Grip/Retaliatory Grip, it would make sense thematically speaking for Shadows/Assassins to have the ability to reflect back damage. It just makes no sense for a non-force user/non-lightsaber wielding character to have the ability to reflect anything back.
  4. When Dyes were introduced, I was simply glad that we would finally have the option to wear whatever we wanted in whatever color we desired but I was surprised that they didn't think of a better system. I had originally made a thread years ago about a similar idea as what I am proposing. If you would like to read the older idea check here. If you right click in-game chatbox tabs you will see that you have options to change chat colors to whatever you want. A Color Wheel with all possible colors from (#000000- #FFFFFF) is available. I always wondered, "Why didnt they just create a system similar to this for armor color?" So heres the idea: Create a "Armor Palette table" that works similar to the "Augmentation table" we use for installing augment kits. You select the piece of armor that you would like to edit the colors of. Then you are able to change the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors all with a Color Wheel. No longer are you stuck with the "Deep Blue, Red, whatever dye" just like everybody else playing the game. You actually get to choose the exact shade of "Blue, Red, or whatever dye" that YOU want. This system CAN co-exist with the current "Dye System" and I've thought of a few ways. 1.) Make access to "Armor Palette System" a Subscriber feature that can also be bought in the Cartel Market for (X) amount of Cartel Coins. You could call it "Access Authorization: Armor Palette System" 2.) Place "Armor Palette tables" in default spots like the Fleets, Coruscant/Dromund Kaas, etc... Make "Armor Palette tables" a decoration that can be purchased from the Cartel Market and added to our strongholds/capital ships. 3.) If it is technically feasible, tie the armor durability status to the Color Wheel system. What I mean by this is whenever you color armor with the "Armor Palette System" instead of with the "Dye System" like we do now, the "Armor Palette System's" color WEARS as armor breaks. The color would fade, looking battle worn. The current system, which is the "Dye System", does NOT fade like the "Armor Palette System." 4.) (I've also thought of another way to kind of help get credits out of the economy. Everyone is rich nowadays thats why the GTN is so high and its harder for newer players to enjoy/get the things they want because the market is out of hand at the moment.) Repairing armor now has 2 options: Repair All - repairs all equipment and Repair/Recolor All- repairs and recolors all equipment. There are 2 options for Re-coloring. Recolor all with credits and Recolor all with Cartel Coins. The option to recolor all with Cartel Coins is only available at "Armor Palette Tables." Recoloring with credits is available at any vendor that allows repairing armor. The difference is that recoloring with Credits would only last say... 5 armor repairs before the color is completely worn. Recoloring with Cartel Coins would last around maybe 10-15 armor repairs before the color is completely worn. -Dye System would remain accessible to everyone whether they are Subscribed, Preferred, or F2P. -Armor Palette System is accessible to Subscribers by default, and access to it can be purchased by Preferred/F2P in the cartel market. -Armor Palette System's color wears as armor breaks, which would also give a reason for people to still use Dye's if they didn't want to deal with their armor color wearing.
  5. I'd like to see: Zillo Beast Carnelian Dragons Krayt Dragons Kell Dragons Basilisk War Droid -Zillo Beast is from the clone wars and is considered an ancient creature which would have existed during the Old Republic. -Carnelian Dragons are quite new as far as I know but were retconned in the recent Obi-Wan and Anakin novels that Disney released. They inhabit the planet Carnelion IV, which had an ancient civilization that would have more than likely existed during the Old Republic. -Everybody knows about Krayt Dragons. -Most everybody knows about Kell Dragons. -Basilisk War Droid just looks awesome lol.
  6. 1.) Would be best served on Knights/Warriors considering Consulars/Inquisitors already have Force Wave. 2.) Interesting idea 3.) Would more than likely be unbalanced in the hands of some specializations and groups. 4.) Seems more like a Consular/Inquisitor move 5.) Balance/Madness shadows/assassins discipline is designed around the whole concept of "Force Drain" 6.) This seems like a Consular/Inquisitor move as well... and also how Vanguard/Powertech "Ranged Tanking" could have worked.
  7. Agreed. The "Utilities" system has taken away what was once unique to each discipline in favor of an "illusion of choice" for all disciplines. Most of the utilities are MANDATORY for whatever discipline you are and there really isn't much customization at all.
  8. Buff Strike Fighter's... remember it was an X-Wing that took out the first Death Star.
  9. What's keeping Johnny from playing his "main" on a RP server, all the while still trolling RP'ers? Nothing. Let players work things out ignoring the trolls, filling their ignore lists just like they would have to in real life. Why baby a certain group of people when everyone is at the mercy of a troll. If someone bothers you, put them on ignore. Its that simple. Let players enforce and govern their selves. No need for a "RP" instance when you can create your own chat channels with your own passwords and ignore the people who bother you, just like the rest of us have to do.
  10. Option 3 if we have to choose. Maybe Valor could be reworked into a "prestige" like system where every time a new season is over, valor is reset to 0 and you have to level it up to be able to enter ranked PvP? Hitting max Valor could increase your bolster to max tier, which is currently tier 4. Of course the experience to max Valor would need to be reduced so that people could access it in a fairly short amount of time(reasonable), but it would force people to play unranked in the beginning and give a sense of progression every season as you work your way to the top.
  11. I 100% agree with this. TBH if people really wanted to troll RP'ers all they would have to do is make a character right now on a server like The Ebon Hawk. There's nothing in place stopping anyone from doing that and trolling others. Taking this into concern, I believe there is 3 options: 1.) Make 1 Megaserver in Central United States 2.) Make 2 Megaservers, one East Coast and one West Coast 3.) Introduce Cross-Server queuing, which costs more money/time than the other options People aren't going to stick around to play if they have no one to play with and for this very reason the top priority is getting everyone together. Names and Guild assets mean nothing if there is no one around to play and for this reason this is a lower priority than a server merge. However, we have seen that Bioware has the means to move individuals with little to no problems. Moving Guilds would have to be done on a case by case basis just like you said TUX. Maybe make a Guild Sign Up sheet on the SWTOR website where guild leaders have a certain time frame to sign up their guild before we are all merged. Set a Deadline to sign up to give people plenty of fair warning and time before a merge is done. Conflicting Guild Names can be assigned based off of initial creation date if you are able to access that metric. Whichever guild was created first gets to keep their name, and the other guild/guild(s) are given a free guild rename. If you are unable to access initial creation date metric, add up time played of all guild members and guild with most time played gets to keep their name. Guild Ships could work by giving all guildleaders a mandatory guild ship rename upon their first login after transfers are complete. First come, first serve. Character names can work the same way... whichever character was created first can keep their name and the others get a free rename token. If you are unable to access initial creation date metric, you could use time played metric. Character with most time played would then get to keep their name. If you don't want to do this you could make Legacy names unique, and just allow everyone to have whatever character name they want. I personally would prefer 1 huge Central United States megaserver, although I can see how this would effect people in other countries.
  12. I've had this idea about "Create-a-Companion" where there is a quest line that involves us meeting a... protégé. Since I'm a Jedi Guardian main, Ill speak from this class' perspective. Think back to the Star wars films and pretty much all Star Wars media... Jedi Masters usually had a Padawan just like Sith Lords had their apprentice. Scoundrels had wookies, moffs had agents... Think about the major 2 that we see.. Obi Wan and Anakin. Their stories together and bond was so strong that they essentially became like brothers. They did everything together... saved countless lives, fought off separatists, rebels, pirates, slave traders, sith, you name it. I believe that the companion system could use a companion that creates the same feeling Obi Wan and Anakin had between each other. Star Wars isn't just the story about "A" hero but its about the experiences, feelings, and emotions that the hero encounters with their companions along the way. The people they lost, the people they saved, it all ties in together. So speaking from the Jedi Knights view. We've defeated a multitude of foes along the way, became a master, became a battle master, and now we preside over the eternal throne. Our Jedi "partner", or "wife" in my Jedi Guardians case isn't really our Padawan because Kira was Master Kiwiick's Padawan. Kira never really fulfills the role of Padawan like Obi-Wan did to Qui-Gon, or like Anakin did to Obi-Wan. What if there was a quest line where we go through a series of events (I'll let you decide Charles since you are the writer! lol), and we get our own Padawan that we can customize. A screen would pop up during a certain point in the quest where you get to create your Padawan just like we do when we create a class. We get to pick their gender, their appearance, their role, and to an even further extent I had an idea about their own mini skill tree. There would be 4 default companion templates: Melee Force, Melee Tech, Ranged Force, and Ranged Tech. Whatever you choose your companion is locked into that (for gameplay purposes we don't want to make this the only companion everyone uses since now we have so many companions to choose from). You could maybe sell an item that allows people to respec and redesign companion from the cartel market if you want that's up to y'all. Each one of these skill trees would have different abilities to choose from for that companion based off their role. TBH you could even make different Templates and sell them on the Cartel Market. Variations of the original 4 templates like: Jedi Knight template, Jedi Shadow template, Dark Jedi template, Zakuul Knight template, Zakuul Vindicator template, etc... and each of these templates would have altered abilities and animations. Sky is the limit as far as that goes. Now each class would need a storyline that fits their theme so that getting the companion would be "unique" and "special." Something similar maybe to what you did with the unique quest on Rishi where each class ran into someone from an earlier point in their story. It wouldn't be very special if we all had the same story like Treek or HK. Not every class would get a Padawan either. A Bounty Hunter may get a "protégé", a trooper may get a "recruit", etc... make it unique cause this companion can be used for story purposes later on. A few things: I think it would be a good idea to make the "Create a Companion" quest subscriber only and this could be a selling point that helps to incentivize people to subscribe. Especially since we already have so many companions this could be a "subscriber feature." Maybe with the addition of this companion, we could see the current number of active companions increased to 2. So that we get that "KOTOR" feel as we are doing our dailies or whatever simple content we are doing when we aren't doing group activities, although this should not be a reason to discourage group activities.. this is an mmo after all. As far as companion bars go, I don't see why we couldn't make group member party frames automatically switch to companions when we aren't in a party. That's up to y'all. Would probably have to limit active companions to 1 in flashpoints or ops to avoid people trying to do group content with just their companions. TL;DR Give me a bro like companion like Anakin was to Obi-Wan.
  13. Something that has bothered me since the release of 5.0 has been the fact that Commandos / Mercenaries and Scoundrels / Operatives received abilities that did not fit their class thematically speaking. Any star wars fan knows that Jedi/Sith are able to deflect and reflect attacks with their weapons, but I do not know of a single encounter where a trooper, bounty hunter, or scoundrel were able to reflect anything. Now I understand that this is a game, but shouldn't class design fit the THEME of the classes? I propose reworking 'Back At YA / Blow For Blow' and 'Responsive Safeguards / Echoing Deterrence' into something that removes the reflect and reworks the abilities into something that fits their respective classes thematically. This is not to say that Commandos / Mercenaries did not need a defensive buff. Before 5.0, everyone complained about their survivability and I have no reason to say that they did not need to be buffed defensively. However, when introducing new abilities and utilities shouldn't the classes have something that goes with their class? On to a lesser point, Vanguards / Powertechs ability 'Sonic Round / Sonic Missile' applies a reflect to all friendly targets in range. I proposed in a previous thread I made a while back to make the AoE taunt utilities for Guardian tanks reflect, Vanguard tanks absorb, and Shadow tanks heal. This way the classes would have abilities/utility that fits their theme properly instead of inserting effects to classes just based off game mechanics. When designing and balancing the classes do y'all take things like this into account?
  14. I've been a subscriber since launch, purchased Collector's Edition, and have never stopped subscribing to this game. I've got all 16 Advanced Classes and they are all lvl 55 or greater. I've remained a subscriber all this time to support the game because I have a passion for the Star Wars franchise. I used to think of Bioware as a great game development company and I didn't mind supporting them because I had faith in their ability to make this game awe-inspiring. I've waited and waited through the good times and the bad, but it seems like we are at a point where they are only building this "road" an inch at a time instead of a mile like it should be. The Star Wars IP should have all the funding and backing it needs to make this game extraordinarily amazing. The Star Wars name alone ensures success as long as people are happy with the content provided to us. They shouldn't have to focus on 1 part of the game at a time. They should have all the manpower available to have different teams working on different types of content. There should be a PvP team, PvE team, Galactic Starfighter team, etc... None of these areas of interest in the game should be lacking just to make one type of content. PvP shouldn't suffer because of story. Story shouldn't suffer because of PvE. I hate to see this game not be everything it could have been/can be if only they would devote the resources to making it better. Quite frankly, I've just finally lost interest. It seems like this game just doesn't have the backing it should have. I'm still subscribed but I've found myself playing other games such as WoW, LOTRO, Rift, Riders of Icarus, and more. I'm just looking for something with more involvement you know? Look at WoW. I had never played it before this year and a buddy of mine kept recommending for me to try it and I finally did. It has its flaws but I feel like the community is much more involved. Developers REGULARLY comment and discuss with the community on their forums. I feel like the developers actually care about making the game better so they get right amongst the players to gather feedback and discuss it with us. Here.. on the other hand... We get poor communication. Soon™. We have heard and keep hearing for years: "We'll work on communicating more clearly" but it just never happens. They act like them talking to us is a privilege that we should be grateful for. It is NOT. We, the players, are what puts "food on their table" so to speak. Hiding behind the fact that we had some crazypsycholunatic go so far as to threaten one of the dev's family shouldn't be reason for them to punish the rest of us. Hell I don't really ever remember a point in time where we truly ever had great communication with the developers so its not like that particular situation is what made them stop talking to us. What that psycho did was despicable but they should understand that 1 bad apple does not represent the rest of this community. I understand this game is a business, but to make money a business has to provide a service or product that people enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the KOTFE story. Bioware has always been good at storytelling but I feel somewhere along the way Bioware lost what it means to make a game feel fun and keep players wanting to play their game. Where are new operations? Flashpoints? PvP maps and game modes? Guild ship vs Guild ship combat similar to Battlefront 2 space combat? Swoop Racing? Pazaak? Light Side/Dark Side skill trees? ETC... I mean there is so much potential and stuff they could do with this game but they just don't. Don't let "engine limitations" stop you. Fix those limitations. If man made it then man can fix it. We need to see some involvement and effort on your part Bioware. Look at Class Development... we should have a dedicated Bioware developer for each and every class that can ensure ALL voices are heard. This one sided crap is ridiculous. Class balancing should be happening constantly! Not just at the end of a PvP season to avoid hurting little Johnny's rating. Let little Johnny adapt to playing the class the way it is meant to be played during the season instead of letting him play the class broken until the season is over. If the class isn't playing right why let people get used to playing it the wrong way? All that does is hurt everyone, both PvE and PvP. I love the way Blizzard is doing class balance for Legion. They are starting by looking at the core theme/fantasy of each specialization, then implementing things that fit the theme/fantasy of each specialization, all the while discussing it all with the players of each specialization who have a passion for the respective specializations that they play. Man if Bioware did something like this I wouldn't know what to think. Class Balancing is an ongoing process that needs to be done at all times. Discuss changes with the community, gather feedback, discuss feedback, put changes on PTS, gather more feedback, make appropriate changes from feedback, release changes on live, rinse, repeat... It doesn't have to be this mystery world where everything remains hidden from us. Don't be scared of making changes! Players can adapt quickly and they will enjoy the classes they play even more if you use feedback that they provide. Sadly, this post will fall on deaf ears. I've stuck it out a long time but if we don't start getting more content and involvement within this community, I will have to finally end my subscription and say goodbye. This event, while great for newcomers, is simply an insult to the veterans of this game who have long supported it and have helped keep it afloat. I've tried to be a 'completionist' within this game but I haven't even bothered to participate in this event because I am just wore out from doing the same content over and over. Its like everything I've done over the years doesn't matter. So, in conclusion... Eric Musco, if you or anyone on the team does so happen to read this, it is your job as Community Manager to relay the opinions of the players back to the game's developers. I would ask Eric, if you have any passion about making this game greater to respectfully forward our concerns to the appropriate persons. If you have to show these forums to someone higher up in Bioware/EA/Disney or whoever it may be, do whatever you have to do to get this game whatever it needs to become greater. If you need funding, permission, more developers, or whatever resources you need to make this game great then Eric I implore you to seek the ones who can give you the resources and show them these forums. They need to see how the playerbase feels. If the resources are put into making this game better I am positive that a profit will be turned to cover all expenses +plus. Invest in the game so that more players will come back to the game, new players will sign up, and veterans players such as myself will continue to spend more money. Don't just be the MMO that "survives" using the Star Wars name as a crutch. Instead, THRIVE being known as "THE BEST MMO." DON'T JUST SURVIVE, THRIVE! Below I have listed some recommendations that will hopefully be considered so that we can get this community and game back on track. I'm sure there are tons of other ideas from other people. I don't want to see this game die. Assign a dedicated Developer/Bioware Representative for each advanced class to introduce themselves on the forums. Maybe tell us why they enjoy the class, tell us a bit about themselves, etc... These developers will have 1 extra task alongside their development job. They will be responsible for making sure each class' voice is being heard. They will frequent the respective forum thread for the class they oversee as to help foster discussion and gather/provide feedback regarding their respective class. These developers will also create a new Sticky Thread under their respective class sub-forum which outlies the details about the design, theme/fantasy, and mechanics of their respective class and each discipline. This Sticky Thread will help give players insight into the design intentions of each class so that we can offer better and more appropriate feedback/suggestions regarding our classes. Eric, your role as the Community Manager should be to make sure that communication is fostered between the community and developers. Make sure that the developers are communicating. Players will get involved, we just need an effort on your parts. You should talk about general content Eric, maybe new systems, things being worked on, etc... Talk about events both in-game and out of game, Guild Conquests, stream, talk about new content, I mean there is tons of stuff you can talk about. Assign someone to talk about PvE content, i.e. Operations, Flashpoints, Story (could have its own representative), etc... Assign someone to talk about PvP content, i.e. New Maps, New Game Modes, New Seasons, World PvP, etc... Assign someone to talk about Galactic Starfighter content. This could additionally branch out to Guild Ship vs Guild Ship battles and any other future content that could revolve around GSF. New Maps, new modes, etc..

  16. /signed No reason not to add them either. The game is sorely lacking "cool" features that can be considered miniscule, but if these features were present the game would feel even more like Star Wars. Far too often do people write off "little stuff" but sometimes the little attention to detail adds depth to a game. It doesn't have to be something game breaking either. Just make it so one space bar jump does what it does now. Pressing the space bar a second time within a specific time frame of pressing it the first time causes your Player Character to "force jump" a little higher. Could even put restriction zones in places if it got out of hand and disable the feature in combat if necessary. There is always a way to make something work.
  17. Well, I've made suggestions before for Guardian Tank's and Shadow Tank's to get Force Push/Pull merged into one ability, and you toggle which one you want to use similar to how you enable/disable companion abilities. There would be a little square box at the top right of ability icon and right-clicking it would switch to the one that you weren't currently using. Activating one sets both abilities on cooldown for their respective time (1 minute without utilities) to prohibit people from using one just to swap to the other and have it ready as well. One problem I see about the above suggestion is the fact that you couldn't keybind the ability swap since you would have to right click to swap from Push to Pull. This isn't that big of an issue since it wouldn't take very long for someone to right click it if they were planning on using a specific ability but it would be a lot more fluid if it was just able to be keybound. The 2 solutions I have for this is for them to create a setting in "Preferences --> Key Bindings --> --Quickbar" that implements the ability to keybind the "ability swap" OR for them to just set the abilities up similar to Guard, Phase Walk, etc... where you just toggle on/off to swap. To reply to your original post, I think Force Push is fine as is as long as it resets Force Leap. If there is ever a moment where Force Push does not reset Force Leap then I think it would be much better to have Force Pull. My suggestion would just allow Guardian's and Shadow's the versatility to have both, albeit on the same cooldown so that it is not overpowered.
  18. With all the mobility introduced in 4.0, roots need to be reverted to their previous iteration where they did not build Resolve. In Huttball, all it takes is one Operative/Scoundrel to double roll then teleport to either a friendly/enemy target and there is nothing you can do about it because your "lesser skilled" teammates white-barred the fool. You can have all of your abilities off-cooldown and ready to go, but if someone is white-barred you can not do anything to counter their movement towards the goal line. Maybe some kind of progressive root system can be done if someone has full resolve that would allow them to be rooted at least twice while having full resolve. That way you can at least have a chance to finish them before they strut right to the goal line. *Also... Nerf Operative/Scoundrel mobility. There is no reason for Force Speed's cooldown to be increased on Shadow's if Operative's are still able to have a 10s double-roll.
  19. I've been PvP'ing on my Slinger quite a bit lately and I can concur that I have not been controlled while Entrench was active. I haven't really played PvE much lately so maybe the problem is just happening there. On another topic, how bout that Bag of Tricks huh? The move is bad to the bone and this is coming from my Saboteur Slinger who appreciates the new reset. You essentially exhaust all your defensives to take down as many opponents as you can, then when you are under heavy pressure you just reset them all to do it all over again. Not many classes can survive a sustained assault from Gunslingers, which is why people often choose to focus them in the first place. All hail our only chance at stopping FOTM Sorcs and Powertech's.... The Gunslingah!
  20. I have not been able to recreate this event myself, neither on my Guardian or my Jugg.
  21. I have to agree as well. The ability looks nice and I am in love with it but I would like to see what you suggested implemented to make it more practical. If there is no target, it needs to go the full range. If a target is selected, it should stop at that target and still play out the saber animation (similar to how it does if you run into a wall.) I feel the damage needs to be increased as well. It is so pitiful in respect to other abilities considering its 45s cooldown.
  22. Maybe I wasn't too clear... I was not referring to discipline specific buffs, I was referring to just a general buff for all 3 disciplines to go along with the idea of becoming "focused for combat" or "becoming enraged" if that makes any more sense. Something comparable to Force Potency, Smuggler's Luck, or Illegal Mods. Edit: Instead of just Focus/Rage getting a buff, I was meaning that I would like it better if all 3 disciplines got a general buff, and then Focus/Rage would still get their buff in their Discipline path in addition to the general buff that all 3 would have.
  23. I personally wish it had more of an offensive buff to it than just handing out free focus/rage. Other than that though its alright in my book.
