  1. Who are Anikin and Obiwan Kanobi, I've never heard of those characters.
  2. I don't gain any dark side points in flash points for some reason on some characters, had another friend of mine being stuck at 9900 for ages as he wasn't rewarded any points in flash points.
  3. I'm not too sure, It seems they have been partially implemented. I think the cut scene textures look like crap, so I'm not sure what people calling them high res are smoking. There are high res textures at random around the game world, but I've yet to see them on any armors.
  4. I think textures in cut scenes are just as low res. I do see higher res textures in random places around the game world though, one example is the Varantikus on Voss.
  5. Well, WoW uses an old RTS engine and it shows. It's poorly optimized for new hardware, so it runs as slow/fast on brand new computers as it does on 2005 hardware. The modified hero engine used by SWTOR should run fine when it's properly tweaked and should also favor newer hardware (I recently updated my graphics card and I got way better fps, whilst in WoW it didn't really make a difference). Bioware has some work ahead of them, but at least the engine allows for improvements.
  6. Yeah, that'll work, taking a game offline in order to re-launch it doesn't really work if your goal is to retain customers, fixing bugs within a reasonable amount of time while the game is live is. If you're a games analyst then I'm an astronaut.
  7. Who are you kidding, we're living in the age of entitlement, people complain about EVERYTHING these days. It's not so much the fact that there's issues with the game, but people go into rages if everything is not perfect, which we all know is impossible. It just amazes me what people complain about, it's mostly about trivial stuff. Rarely do I see people raise concern about actual game breaking issues. Everyone's a delicate flower and upset because the milk carton has the wrong color, who the hell cares.
  8. One thing is to compare features another thing is to expect it to be as bug free as a 7 year old game, those are two very distinctive things. I've yet to see a new game released in the age of the Internet that's more or less bug free.
  9. BioWare has done an EXTENSIVE re-write of the original code for the Hero-engine. By this stage it's more proprietary than not.
  10. A new game is still a new game, just because a game is made in 2011 doesn't mean it's without bugs (hello Skyrim). Games will ALWAYS have bugs, I'd say it's gotten worse with time, as the internet allowed developers to iron out the bugs in patches. Just because there have been previous MMOs with similar features doesn't mean a new game will have the same code, codewise it's gonna be totally different. WoW has been out for 8 years, while you'd be right to compare features in its current incarnation to SWTOR, it would be naive at best to expect SWTOR to be as bug free. It would be unprecedented if it actually was. A new game is new and it will have wrinkles.
  11. Yeah, I don't get the high res in cinematic mode as well, it looks just as horrible. But I see certain high res textures at random places, so it looks like they're in but only partially. I.e the Varantikus on Voss have sharp textures even when zoomed in close.
  12. I'm grouping all the time....it's not hard.....
  13. There will be some epic fights down the road, f.ex Bulwark and Mentor in Directive 7, they feel like raid encounters, even on normal they are quite challenging.
  14. No. You should actually play the game, you'd find that it's not. Obviously it shares similar features as it's an MMO. But by that logic I could say that WoW is a rip off of EQ.
