  1. Hum. Can I still pre-order TSW? ::ponders::
  2. You are locked to that instance of HM EV. If you zone into the Op you will still be in your run from Thursday. You won't be able to join a new HM EV instance. If you are the leader of an Op you can bring 9 other people (who are not locked) in to just kill Soa - but - so could anyone else from that PuG (so he might already be dead). I'm not sure if any new people you bring into your HM EV will be saved when they zone in, or if they need to kill Soa to become saved.
  3. If you've died a bunch of times and your armour is broken (0 durability) you'll receive no benefit from it.
  4. Unless you can find a niche market I've actually found not crafting to be a great money saver while levelling; sending your companions away on missions and trying to blue/purple a bunch of schematics really takes up a lot of credits.
  5. When you're on your character select screen, you will see any characters renamed mid-transfer show up as JSDHWXCZIECJ or something. You will be prompted to rename all of the flagged characters when you first try to log in as one. During the APAC xfer we found that you needed to really pay attention to which character it was asking you to rename; several of our guild were trying to log in with their main, but were being prompter to rename a different character (in alphabetical order of the random gibberish name). They™ may have fixed that up by now, though.
  6. For a JK, it's certainly not as useful as Strength but Willpower does still have it's uses. Endurance and Presence too. Aim and Cunning, on the other hand, well you still get some xp.
  7. Yeah, I was rerolling through Ord Mantell last night and was very sad to see that a) the triangle was gone, and b) the cursor doesn't change. There's no visual clue at all that the datacrons are an interactable object until you click them and it goes into the cutscene. Sad panda.
  8. Just now? Has been available for heals since launch. Getting his affection to 10k in new, though, as is the crew skills sensor.. Ship droid can use off-hand generator or shield, just not a weapon. With some decent Droid armour he can do some very respectable healing, doesn't have any annoying knockback or CC abilities and doesn't get distracted by trying to dps at the same time (although sending him into punch mobs in the face is high-larious! ^.^)
  9. Act = Chapter, but yes, as above, Chapter 1 you must complete, which is typically all the way through Alderaan, and then a final mission out in space somewhere.
  10. That's pretty much it. There's so much custom gear from mission rewards and commendations and flashpoints and ops that crafted armour and weapons are kinda useless at end game. Artificers had it better than armstech, armormech and synthweaving for 1) colour crystals and (a distant second) 2) off-hand shield/generator. Bio has never been in trouble and Cybertech, well, while I'm not finding it as useful at 50 as I did while levelling up it's still handy, especially with a slew of alts at various levels.
  11. Because giving those crafts something to do, and giving people a reason to take something other than Bio or Slicing, was such a terribad idea.
  12. a) That's, like, one day's worth of daily missions to cover swapping mods out. How often are you planning on doing that? b) Using correct punctuation instead of a wall o' text makes your post more readable. This is much more likely to win people over to your side than throwing a at the end.
  13. It can heal pretty well, if decently geared, although most classes should have their healing companion fairly early and as the ship droid won't hold a weapon it will always be behind in gear (unless you have a lot of ship droid parts laying aboot). You should really be using your healing companion unless: 1. they are away on an urgent crew skill mission, or 2. you're in a conversation that leads directly into combat and they would heartily disagree with your opinion.
  14. Dear Bioware, I wish, from the character select screen, I could hit Esc and Enter to exit the game instead of clicking the tiny little box in the bottom left hand corner. I also wish I could use the up and down arrows and then Enter to log in as a character. These small quality of life improvements would really make me happier. Cheers, Daf

  16. 1. [Ctrl]+[P] for Preferences menu (or [Esc] and then click Preferences) 2. Click the [Keybinding] tab along the bottom 3. Use the navigation menu on left to select the category (Movement, Social, etc) 4. Scroll down until you find the command you wish to map 5. Click the command with your mouse 6. Press the key or key combination you wish to bind this command to - to bind to the "F" key, press [F] - to bind to "Ctrl+Alt+P", press [P] while holding down [Ctrl] and [Alt] 7. You will receive a brief warning in red if the binding was previously used for another command, which will now be unbound. 8. Repeat steps 3 through 6 for each command you wish to bind 9. Click on (from memory here...) [Apply] in the bottom right corner and then close the Preferences menu
  17. If you're in a party of 3 players (including yourself) then nobody's companion will be auto-summoned.
  18. My Trooper can right-click on an enemy to heal herself; it's great.
  19. All Commandos get an AoE knockback called, as previously stated, Concussion Charge. The more dps-type Commandos can also, if they are so inclined, spec into Stockstrike having a single target knockback effect added to it's regular damage effect.
  20. You may find it will not allow you to take screenshots during a conversation. This seems to happen sometimes but not other times.
  21. I found when I got to Ilum the last time that I didn't need to do all the parts of Crystal Ball before I could start doing all of the dailies any more. I had finished everything on Corellia and Tython (JC) first, though, so I can't comment if completing Chapter 3 itself is required for Ilum (it's certainly not required for Belsavis and I don't think it's required for Corellia). But yes, without knowing the IA story at all (yet) it sounds like the OP is near the end of Chapter 1. So not continuing the story will mean: not getting any new companions, not unlocking +crit buff for alts (nor whatever your Heroic Moment legacy ability is), not unlocking any of the companion buffs (can't complete conversations until Chapter 3 starts). Sadly these are predominantly PvE perks.
  22. Don't They™ sort the servers by number-of-existing-characters then current-population? So all the full/very-heavy servers should already be at the top of the list and all the light ones at the bottom.
  23. It's really quite safe; you should be fine. There PvP area on Tatooine is really specific and you shouldn't need to go through it if you're just doing missions (if you're datacron hunting you might see that area as a shortcut but there are other ways around it (although one of these ways is though an Imperial base, you won't get flagged for PvP if you just speeder through) The western half of Ilum is all PvP and again if you're just doing the missions & dailies you won't get lead into the PvP zone. One of the daily missions does border the tunnel that bridges the two zones, though.
  24. If you sold it to a vendor then you should be able to get it back from the Buyback tab (on any vendor; not just the one you sold it to). It's doesn't reset at log out and doesn't keep track of vendor trash so it's got a reasonably long tail. If you sold it some other way well then you might be out of luck. You could try the GTN (there's a few level 10-11 random saber drops) or find an artificer & cybertech to fix you up. Some weapon vendors sell them too, either for credits or planet commendations. Failing that there's a few from mission rewards; you might just have to plug on through until you hit one.
  25. Yeah, we don't let the Sith anywhere near Coruscant after they bombed it last time.
