  1. With the advent (and continuation) of: Encouraged Valor farming in Ilum after patch 1.1 Unrecoverable pvp advantages to the opposing faction provided as a result of the Valor boost given to the opposing faction Still struggling with the fundamental differences in faction animations and the advantages that provides Appalling randomness on pvp loot bags that means effort is not rewarded Bizarre loot randomness in the new flashpoint I have cancelled my sub with 14 minutes to spare. I did wait for your 'official' response to these fundamental pvp-breaking issues, but as I said in my previous post - it's midnight in 14 minutes in the country I live in and I am not resubbing to this in it's current state. I'll put this one down to lack of experience and the only frustrating thing is, my kids won't understand why we don't have the game any more. No, you can't have my stuff and no, the door won't hit me on the way out. Fact is, if you, the player, hold on to the shrivelling possibility that this game will meet your rapidly reducing expectations, you may as well get onto Amazon now and order your hard hat, sit at the back of the bus and lick windows with the rest of the strange kids. Very disappointed.
  2. This official response you're talking about by the way....you have 45 minutes before it's midnight here in the UK when my sub renews. If a satisfactory answer isn't out in 40 minutes, I'll be cancelling and I don't think I'm alone. Just might like to factor that into your 'working on' speeds.
  3. I have tried this rotation but have found it's far too easy to counter with any break free/CC rotation at all leaving you without Upper Hand and without any hots up at all. What typically comes next then is a break free of your own, you bubble, apply hots and a recovery heal. If you get those interrupted with any CC (which of course you will because as I mentioned at the start of the thread - your break free gives no immunity, resolve is broken and every class has more than 2 interrupts) you'll be face down in the dirt with your butt in the air like a bicycle park before you can say, 'stack endurance'. Don't get me wrong, I change my approach depending what class/experience I am up against and I try to have several options open to me at any given point in a 1-on-1 fight. The problem comes back to the fact that we are moderately squishy with armour, there are so many interrupts flying around, break free gives no immunity, dodge doesn't last 3 seconds (ever), resolve is broken, two of our damage skills cannot be used in pvp and our only decent heals are 2 seconds easily interrupted. Put this all together and we're too easy to beat 1-on-1 for any class with a player behind it that can think.
  4. Now there's a worthwhile post. I just learned something, thank you for that. Also granted by Shoot First now that I've read it again. That's something. Thanks again. So providing we either have stealth and get Shoot First off or it's a melee opponent that we can hit with Blaster Whip - we get an Upper Hand. Then all we have to do is wait til our health is below 30% and spam Emergency Medpac as others suggest. Epic. Although I've just learned something beneficial, it doesn't really fix the problem does it? So actually, the ideal rotation for sawbones in 1-on-1 pvp is Shoot First or Blaster Whip to proc Upper Hand, wait til you're less than 30% health, spam Emergency Medpac, if you go over 30% health and lose Upper Hand, use Blaster Whip again - repeat. I realise I'm being flippant now, but apart from your suggestion, most other contributors to this thread seem to think Emergency Medpac is the answer to our 1-on-1 pvp capabilities.
  5. Free charge of what? Upper Hand? Umm...since when?
  6. There are (as far as I am aware) 3 key differences between the 'mirror' classes that affect the operative and scoundrel: Accomplished Doctor vs Accomplished Sawbones (the one mentioned by the OP) Critical healing bonus is 10%/20%/30% on Operative whereas 5%/10%/15% on Scoundrel Flash Bang vs Flash Grenade (mentioned above) Cooldown is 60secs on Operative whereas 90secs on Scoundrel Bolstering on Warzones (affects all empire, not just this mirror) Bolstering for stats on pre-level 50s is higher for imperial than for republic Are there any more?
  7. You might be right. That's your opinion. It's a bad opinion, full of misinformation, but you can have that opinion if you like. As far as individual skill goes, I may not be a pvp deity and I may not have the gear that gives me a stat advantage, but I can hold my own and I do expect my chosen class to at least be competitive to a point against something that is not a burst dps class. There are videos all over the pvp forums of 4k crits coming out of players - I don't expect my hot to get me through that. Sawbones is not a dps class, no where near it. Two of our high damage skills don't even fire in pvp, we are prevented from using them. Kolpher, I've just watched a 10 minute 'pvp video stream' of yours to get an idea of these 'skills' I don't have. I watched you flirt, insult, chat, and enter one warzone, only to spam Underworld Medicine while no-one attacked you. I can't really take you seriously after that.
  8. You know what I wish? I wish that people that have nothing intelligent to add to a thread about 1-on-1 pvp survivability and couldn't care less about the topic of the thread would find another thread to troll.
  9. And how in hell is this 1-on-1 pvp? Please. Read the thread. But seriously, if you can heal through 3 level 50 sith inquisitors on you at level 41, they are all afk.
  10. It'd be great if you read at least the initial OP thread. This is not about 'running around in warzones with Upper Hand proc up'. This is about 1-on-1 lack of survivability. Unless you are running around questing, ensuring that you hav UH up all of the time, you are going to enter a fight 1-on-1 with a passing opponent without UH up. From the point of engagement you are in pvp. I use Emergent Emergencies and have been using it since I had enough points to get it. It's a great skill and a superb talent to have, I agree. In PvE it's amazing, in PvP warzones again - it's amazing - if I had a credit for every time I'd spammed it while being mobile on someone under 30% in a warzone - I'd be rich. That is completely besides the point. In 1-on-1 you have to get the proc up before you can benefit from it. Hitting your pre-heal hots is a typical first move in 1-on-1 pvp to get those things trickling but you're not going to have UH proc immediately, you're not going to be out of CC for very long and you're not going to take so little damage that your hots can heal through it. Seriously, 1-on-1 pvp for a sawbones is not about using the right skill or having the right talent, it's about whether you proc UH or not in the first 3 seconds of a fight.
  11. You may find this surprising, but quest hubs on a pvp server don't rent tanks by the hour. I genuinely lol'ed at your 'vanish and call it a draw'. Very good.
  12. I just spent the last 2 hours trying out many different things and discussing this with several sawbones with your stats and I've come to the conclusion that UNLESS you stack endurance and crit AND the opponent isn't critting for 2.5k+ you might as well not waste your time in 1-on-1 pvp as a sawbones spec. Whether you have 15k health or not, crits anywhere between 2k and 4k are not recoverable with a hot from the sawbones unless you're below 30% already and EM crits upwards of double the amount of dmg you just took. Importantly and on top of that, two key damage skills don't even work in pvp and two of our CC's completely fill the resolve bar, mitigating all other CC against your opponent for a while. Either, we're working as intended and all other classes are broken...or...we are. EDIT: In fact, it's probably time to respec Scrapper until the 'dedicated pvp team' get dedicated with achieving something valuable.
  13. I understand what you're saying and I do appreciate your comments - hell, if I've totally got this wrong, I'll put my hands up and say so. My problem is that you're telling me that the survivability of the healing class spec relies upon stats, i.e. 15k health, 6k crit on hot heals - I already know this - that's why I'm saying the survivability of the CLASS is lacking. I don't doubt stacking endurance and crit kit gives you a boost. My point is that when everyone has the same stat/critkit you're talking about - you no longer havre survivability again. You seem to be saying you're equipment is great - not the class.
  14. It sounds like your and my experiences are more similar. I don't get facerolled unless I'm in a bad situation (already in combat, blown all CD's already etc.). I can be worn down though simply from the number of interrupts I take. Unless you're stacking endurance, are lvl 50 with stats like the chap above, I cannot see how you can possibly take a 4 second stun and 'recover' without a bigger heal - such as a crit from EM or a 2 sec heal. In 4 seconds you're telling me you take enough dmg for your hots to recover from?
  15. If you're talking about Distraction (as a mute?) it interrupts and prevents that skill from being used for 4 seconds. That skill. Not any other. So a class with 3 interrupts still has 2 left. It's not a mute, or a silence. It only affects one skill and that has to be a channelled or cast skill - it won't interrupt instant cast abilities. Upper Hand does not proc instant on a hot - it procs on a fixed 30% chance if you're fully specced in the talent on the hot. Upper Hand does not proc instant on kolto cloud - it proces on a critical on the hot. If you're only stacking hots for a pvp 1 on 1 and relying on crit chance to get a decent heal from it - again you're relying on stats - not skill.
  16. You cannot spam EM. Firstly, you need UH active. Secondly, it's on GCD. That's not spammable. The second you go over 30% you lose the upper hand and it's not refunded. So basically, you're suggesting using every single GCD to heal yourself until you get over 30% and then can't do it anymore? That's not a viable 1 on 1 pvp approach. Dodge only affects pure melee and ranged attacks, not tech attacks and not force attacks - which is ironically where the majority of player damage comes from. I don't know about the 8 sec of free time with one skill. Could you enlighten me?
  17. You didn't read my post. You cannot 'stand there and turn around a fight' if it's 1 on 1 pvp. That is what my post is about. The survivability of the class with so many interrupts flying around is greatly diminished. Seriously, if a BH got all his attacks off on you, didn't break free from your stun and allowed you to run around him wearing him down - he was either a rather poor BH or afk. We all have examples of facerolling another character - I have my fair share. I'm not asking for specific examples of where you've succeeded, that's not the title of the thread. In pvp 1 on 1, survivabilty is based on interrupts. There are too many that affect us.
  18. I'm happy to answer every one of these posts... You cannot spam Emergency Medpac without Upper Hand being up. Your only guaranteed Upper Hand proc will come from a 2 second heal. If you're getting a 2 second heal off in 1 on 1 pvp - then you're up against an inexperience player. Which is exactly what I have said above. I don't have your stats no, I'm at level 47 at the moment with level 40 pvp gear on. While I appreciate having your stats and 15k HP will change the fight significantly, wait and see what happens when everyone has the stats you're talking about and all of a sudden your 'advantage' is no longer relevant. Your survivability is based on your stats, not the fact you are a healing spec class.
  19. With so many classes having several interrupts, 1 on 1 pvp for sawbones spec is seriously lacking. Full sawbones healing spec should have some level of survivability beyond that currently in place. Even with defensive cooldowns (the bubble very rarely lasts the advertised 15 seconds and dodge only affects pure melee/ranged attacks) you'll only get at most, one heal off if you're up against an inexperienced opponent. Kiting isn't really an option with the majority of classes either being ranged or having a decent gap closer. I really don't know whether this is class design and it's all working as intended, but from my experience the class/spec does well in warzones, pve healing is without doubt very good but as I say, 1 on 1 pvp comes down to interrupts for a healer. With 2 second cast times on a decent heal (certainly enough to provide a guaranteed Upper Hand which is required for the class to do well in healing) too many interrupts mitigate any layer of skill based on survivability.
  20. 40 points 'speciality' for the Sawbones class amounts to nothing more than a 4-player hot? It's 30 energy requirement is an absolute killer for the amount of healing it actually does. It has no value in pvp whatsoever because by the time the hot has expired, you'd wish you'd used your 30 energy elsewhere. It's little more than dubious in pve - a pbaoe hot? Seriously? I shudder every time I read the apparent 'specialist' skill for the scoundrel healer tree. Can't something be done about the energy use, or the tick value, or...well...whatever you like really BW, even if the 40 point specialist skill was a new dance emote I'd use it more than I do now.
  21. Absolutely true at the present time. Both scoundrel stuns fill the resolve bar 100% on each use.
  22. 55 min wait time before midday? This isn't just a queue, it's huge overpopulation on your part - or could it be that your authentication servers can't take it? Whatever it is, I've been involved in enough MMO's to know that there are queues at launch and I'm sure your devs have too. If I knew it was coming and YOU knew it was coming, why didn't you have character transfers in place before launch?
  23. CC break is 2 min cooldown. If you only get CC'd once in any 2 minute period in a warzone, I'll buy you a house. Vanish is only usable if you're not incapacitated, which is the source of most complaints. Slows aren't the end of the fight, chaining incapacitates is. ^^ This. Just this.
  24. We are discussing in a load of threads. Why another one ?
  25. I have no problem with slows, in fact I think they're a valuable tool for good pvp for both melee and ranged classes. I have no problem with incapacitates, providing they are used as interrupts and don't last longer than it takes to kill you. But... Without diminishing returns, making CC removable with a purge or some such skill, allowing the effects to stack and enforcing a 2 min cooldown on breaking free what you get is a REQUIREMENT to use CC. It's no longer a case of team play, mitigation or skill, it's a case of side-with-most-cc wins. Simply, it's a bad design and those that support no counter to it are simply poor players that rely on the crutch of CC to make them viable.
