Zulu, would you mind posting your specs, for comparative purposes? I don't have a high end machine at all and while the game runs, naturally I'm always lookin to pick up my 20fps.

turned everything to low, and run gamebooster with it (Which a lot of purists scoff at, but I don't care enough to write code to turn off processors and clean ram and what have you, and it works well with it) and I can get a good five hours of play before it starts getting choppy.

She is not a bad tank, and she is absolutely not useless past 35. Barring spoiler information that I'll avoid, I used her everywhere I could and I still use her to tank my dailies on Illum. She does just fine.
And yes, I took down golds 3 levels higher than me with her on many occasions.
She may not be perfect, and may not even stack up against the others for all I know, but please stop spouting BS claiming that she can't tank X or Y, or that she's "useless".
I think the point he was trying to make is that it's YOU, not Kaliyo that's doing so well against them. If you had another companion you'd do much better.

I think it would work better if it stayed on for like 15 or 30 seconds (with a fairly long cooldown) for whenever we're in cover that way we don't have to worry about trying to get a perfect timing that accounts for possible lag, and animation problems and it still allows all the melee's to come at us after it ends.

Yep, my guild just ran into the mind trap bug on Soa. Several of the people stuck in the mind traps after soa died actually needed the gear that dropped, including myself. We all opened tickets.

Hi this is protocall droid.... You can use the /stuck command......... or you can use quick travel......... (problem is definitely getting solved here)........ or you can press Ctrl u + u to reset your interface (because interface has everything to do with my problem).......

This has to be the must buggy game I have ever seen even on release. Some of the bugs happen so often that you know the content was hardly tested.
I used to rationalize the problems in this game with the "yeah, but the game was just released" statement. Not anymore. Literally some of the end game content has a more likely chance to bug than to not bug. The Soa fight really comes down to what bug will you run into and will you be able to get loot.
Clearly you missed Star Trek Onlines release
Hopefully some of this gets fixed with the 1.1 release......hopefully.

I can't stand Kaliyo, she may be a decent tank with the right gear but
- You'll find that Lokin is much more helpful as a non-healer spec
- We're stuck with her and her alone for what feels like FOREVER
- She's ugly (In my arrogant opinion also please tell me it isn't just me that's noticed someone at bioware has an odd fascination with bald chicks?)
- Scorpio fills her tank role far better
The only good things I can say about her is that she doesn't have the harpoon problem like Corso does for the Smuggler (I'd still pick Corso over her though if I could) and some of her comments when you enter areas are entertaining. Other than that she totally goes against my Darkside Imperial Patriot with those little -1's which is kinda annoying.

I run Marksman, but engineer is probably better since your going to have stay mobile in PvP, and we're no where near the operative. My general plan of attack in pvp is to set up cover, let them knock me back, break stun, debilitate and shiv'em run away, get in cover again, hit'em with flash bang and unload a sniper with laze target and some overload shots with explosive probes and the like. It tends to work well on the melee classes, against other ranged classes though I'm usually hosed without help and I generally do best in Huttball and Voidstar, but Alderaan usually lags so badly it wouldn't matter how well I did anyways.

It would much more surprising if there were a part of Clone Wars that didn't ruin Star Wars as opposed to the other way around.

Yes, and much more than once. Also you like the others said you'll get the chance to buy different customization later on, I think on Balmorra in the Cantina, there's an option there that looks a lot like her original but still different and no shock collar I believe.

I get lag while everythings rendering on start up for like the first five minutes, but after that it runs amazing on my computer that barely meets min. requirements.

I can't dig through the whole general area for the other topics on this, but I have the same general concern. My machine at current runs it fine on low settings for around four hours before I start getting heat issues, but I'd like to upgrade on the budget, and I was wondering if this would be a good rig to play SWTOR on at least medium, maybe some high options with Shadows turned off?

From what I remember it was built for him, but never used. The body is probably a trap with a light-saber which would explain why your attacked after taking it.

Jedi do NOT have this problem. They have at least 10 hooded robes for medium armor users that I've found just on their market.

This. I seriously doubt all these OMG THIS GAME SUX people are actually going to subscribe. If they all did that, WoW would've been dead on arrival. Also where are they going to go? Until Guild Wars 2 comes out, all the MMOs they've already played are pretty much their only choice, and if they really want to go back to them, after leaving in the first place....

The best voices in the game are Male Jedi Knight and Female Trooper (David Hayter [snake from MGS] and Jennifer Hale [Female Shepard and Naomi in MGS series] respectively)
I'm sorry but I can't stand Jennifer Hale as the trooper. I guess it's because I play Mass Effect so much, and hearing her as Satele Shan as well just over did it for me.
The Imperial voices are always sexier. It's the accent

I hear tell that the Jedi have the exact opposite problem of this. But honestly I don't mind no hoods, can't stand how you look bald under them, would be nice if there were more gear options for late game though, because I'm still using Black Talon Marauder for the chest piece

ummm how? not trying to be "L2P!" or anything but just because you can't do it no one else can? Also if you don't like Carnage, why don't you try a different spec? There are two others out there, and Carnage tends to be harder to master than the others, it could probably use a buff or two, but you don't change it so Force Scream works on Strong Mobs, they're supposed to be a bit more of a challenge. AoE sleep and obfuscate do well for those, yes they're ranged limited but what do you expect playing a melee oriented class?

but how do you guys now deal with 2 elite plus a strong or whatever guy? Kaliyo now dies much faster and my healing capacity as a sniper is not sufficient. and if the 2nd elite is attacking me, i can handle him as described above. but afterwards Kaliyo is dead and this other elite is still half alive with all my cc are on heavy cooldown. energy is not the problem for me with 2 elite since i got EMP discharge, but the cc to avoid, that the other elite is now beating the $hit out of me without any good defense.
do you start kiting now? against a range fighter? how do you guys deal with 2 elite plus trash?
i am not talking about droids i could mezz.
As with household chores one of the first things you should do is take out the trash, let Kaliyo die holding the elites aggro, while you take them out. Odds are the Elites will kill you, but you should be able to revive, and get ready to take them down, no problem. Without the trash they seem much easier to me. I agree that it's annoying, and we shouldn't have to in the first place, some sort of heal mechanic other than the medpack would be nice. If not that at least lower the medpacks cooldown so it'll be useful a second time in a longer fight.
