  1. Thank the Force.

    One question though,

Will any work be done on existing characters being allowed to switch their initial combat style?

Last update we had said that this wouldn't be happening because it wasn't working as intended, and I'm hoping that some of the extra time being taken is going towards this.

  2. The Spoils of War equipment sets will no longer drop from content nor be able to be directly purchased from a vendor. As a result, the achievements will be moved to the Feats of Strength category. The sets will still be obtainable via Kai Zykken’s Random Unique Items box.

Terrible idea that doesn't mesh with the overall thrust of trying to reduce RNG. Just keep a few vendors around and airlock Kai.

  3. Having the same issue, and did a full reinstall. No luck, still getting the infinite loading screen.

This is really frustrating. Nothing's changed as far as I can tell on my end, and I even tried rolling back drivers and updates to see if there was a bad interaction there but nothing I've done has helped. I've followed the instructions on every post I could find about the issue but the game stubbornly refuses to beyond that initial loading screen after hitting the play button on the launcher.

I'm really at a loss for how to fix this. If it doesn't end up solving itself after the next major update on Thursday I guess I'm just SOL.

  4. This may solve the problem of skank tanks over performing relative to an average in PvP, but in doing so you're essentially forcing all tanks to switch to a skank tank build in order to remain competitive. There needs to be something more than a threat gen increase to offset this, preferably a reworking of the defense stats in general so you actually want to take that gear instead of DPS stuff. You're going to have keep coming back to fiddling with tanks and skank tanks until something is actually done to make the DPS gear less desirable in the first place.
  5. So with the news of Timothy Zahn heading this new story arc. Do you have high hopes that this will be better than what we've gotten in the past. Do you have any hopes/wishes that Zahn might bring?

I don't really have high hopes for anything story related at this point. Doesn't matter who they bring in since they're going to have to work around the utter garbage of the entire Zakuul focused storyline.

Only wish is thus that the end of the story kills the Eternal Alliance dead and we never hear about it again.

Chiss stuff might be interesting. But it'd be more interesting if were added as a new adventure in the timeframe of the vanilla game where we don't have all this Eternal horse-hockey getting in the way.

  6. Hey folks,

Over time, we have received quite a few reports from players of items that used be available in-game, that no longer are. We don't mean Cartel Market items, but items that used to be available on vendors or from drops, etc. We are doing planning around some Mission rewards coming up and we thought this might be a good opportunity to try to get some forgotten items back in.

Here is what we are looking for. What are some in-game items that are no longer available that you would like to see come back, for the following categories:

    • Mounts
    • Mini-pets
    • Stronghold Decorations
    • etc.

For this feedback thread we are currently not looking for weapon or armor set suggestions.

    Let us know your thoughts!

    -eric

    All of them.

  7. -More Zakuul stories? Well there goes any interest in any story content.

    -No ops or flashpoints

-No expansions to a great deal of previous content

    -No PvP content

-An RNG system with an extra layer of RNG

-Uprisings don't seem like anything more than endgame heroics to grind out for CXP

-I'm neutral on class changes. Some are good, some are bad.

-Dark versus Light stuff seems interesting

So on the whole I can't say I'm excited for it. I don't really plan on utilizing the majority of what little there is, so it just seems like a massive waste of time compared to playing the vanilla game and pre-KOTFE expansions again.

  8. Well then....I guess congratulations are in order? RNG is somehow going to be even worse than previously anticipated. I was hoping that this would show that there was more to Uprisings but they still seem hilariously sad. It's a Heroic +4 with some voice overs and an extra difficulty mode. It is nice that underused areas of the game are being utilized but I'd rather have some more real content in these places than more terrible adventures in Zakuuland and the eternal promise of actual group content coming at some later point.
  9. It’s not about the commendations not being turned into CXP.

It’s not about the rate of commendations to credits.

It’s not about “gaining an advantage” by instantly gearing.

It’s not about the fact that we had a warzone cap of 4,000 regular and 12,000 ranked commendations go to eliminating the ranked commendations and establishing a ridiculous ceiling of 200,000.

It’s not about how they gave us the ability to transfer commendations a year ago to alternate characters or to stockpile.

It’s about how this was either a malevolent act or an incredibly ignorant one, two different connotations that I would hope never applies to a game developer for a large community.

It’s about how on 10/24/2016, we were given less than a day’s notice to either move commendations around or stockpile, with the vague information to “please ensure they are on the character you want them to be on before Tuesday’s maintenance.”

It’s about how on 10/26/2016, we were given the conversion rates and a cap. After we were no longer able to move commendations around using the legacy commendation transfer items.

It’s about how in every single previous iteration of the game, players have always held on to their commendations and/or warzone commendations as the next expansion neared. Once? (2.0) Bioware’s decision to give those few players who stockpiled an easy way to get new gear. Twice? (3.0) Bioware’s establishing a routine. Thrice? (4.0) The players haven’t seen a different decision about commendation stacking since never. That, and going along with the incredibly vague announcement about losing the ability to stockpile? Of course people stockpiled.

That, and you’re deliberately slapping subscribers who play Ranked in the face regarding Ranked Season 6 commendations. You said they’d go to Warzone commendations at the end of Ranked Season 7. This just happens to coincide with your expansion and the credit conversion. If you play a lot of ranked, you’ll always have leftovers because they’ve always converted to something useful such as warzone commendations. There are people with tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of ranked commendations that will simply get deleted from over abundance.

People need to see the bigger picture here on why those who stockpiled are upset. We’ve spent time and money to play the game. We shouldn’t be punished at all to have had the majority of our commendations on one character or spread across 50.

That, and the only response at all to a very vocal outcry from the community is about fleet commendations?

    Doc said it perfectly.

Pretty much this. The failure to address concerns over comms is part of a larger concern of a failure to address anything, and pretty terrible communication efforts. Especially for our non-English speaking compatriots who have an rougher time getting an answer on anything. There are a great many questions that have been answered to be sure, but none of them have been at the core of the concerns over the issues with 5.0 whether it's RNG or Comms.

Heck there still isn't an answer about the status of preferred going further just a non-committal "we're exploring options" which means absolutely nothing. Then you have things happening like the update where players weren't really given the information they needed, and other such failures that have frustrated subs and nonsubs alike. Add all that to a large amount of misspokes, clarifications, unclear posts, and confusion in answers and there is a very clear failure to communicate with the playerbase.

  10. I haven't seen any mention of how Kotfe will tie into Kotet, did it not make the highlight reel?

I'll admit I stopped watching when they started talking about the Influencer Program, as I don't really care about watching some stream of other people playing the game or some fan site doing something cosmetic.

I don't recall any story questions being answered, or talk about how it tied in, but I might be mis-remembering.

  11. I usually enjoy the livestreams but I gotta say, as far as these things can reasonably go given the medium and time, that was incredibly uninformative. You can repeat chapters at different difficulties and gain LS/DS, and Tier 5/6 companion gifts are in the RNG blackhole.

    Great.

Now how about some actual information?

  12. Frankly Eric, if any type of commendation should be phased out and goods purchased through them should become purchasable through credits instead, it should be Fleet Commendations. For the record, we're not talking about Starship / Fleet Requisitions here.

This. Unless there's an actual plan to put more Galactic Starfighter/Rails Shooter/Whatever content in the game, the fleet commendations should absolutely go. It seems odd to keep them when the entire rationale behind removing the other commendations/currencies is to simplify things it makes no sense to keep one of them. It'd probably just be easier to have everything that needs fleet commendations cost credits and require reputation, while adding reputation to more of the rail shooters or somesuch.

  13. I like the Defender better than the Fury. The Fury just seems like a hulk of poorly lit metal. The Defender just feels more sleek, even though the large staircase leading out is a bit odd. I also like the external look of the Defender better. The Fury has to work hard just to convince people it isn't a tie fighter. The Defender bears a resemblance to both the Hammerhead class and the transport used in Episode 1 that was regrettably destroyed in like the first five minutes. Which is also about the same time the movie started to go really downhill as well.
  14. Will do.

Let's not forget that snipers have to apply a shield screen (time lost and a visible callsign for a easy kill) to be complitely stationary in order to do the same damage that mercs put out with ease, faster, and more mobility in general and with more damage mitigation plus heal and ease of using LoS due mobility. Now, what do you want? Should we nerf snipers and buff mercs some more?

Mercs have every asset in their palette and can do same and more than other clasess aside sorc. Merc is a Sniper godmode in it's current state.

Except ours all require us to be stationery, and if we interrupt tracer missile all you'll do is LOL Tracermissile some more. We don't have enough interrupts to keep you from spamming the damn thing.

  15. I'm leveling an Inf spec Shadow right now, and I must say that I love the playstyle. I've only died about once and that because I accidentally fell off the top of a rock into a mob. As far as energy goes I usually have no problems, the recharge time doesn't vary, and I believe the Inf specc gets more FP in the skill tree. Also when you get annoyed because you just killed your through an entire complex of mobs and then have to fight your way back out, you can just stealth past them instead. We also get some nice stuns and force cloaking in the middle of a battle is so much fun.
