  1. I don't know if I agree with the majority of your post if I'm honest but hey, you're allowed to feel and believe whatever you like That said: If you're in a position where $15 a month (Or £8.99 for UK) is a major deal for you, and BWs business is 'causing you this much stress and annoyance... I'd say you have your priorities a little messed up. Now I don't know your circumstance, and I don't care to - that's your business, not mine - but I don't think asking for more free stuff should be top on your list. It should be enjoying the content you have and will be getting for free while you work on fixing the situation where $15 is going to break you. I've never fully understood why people complain why a free to play game does not give them everything on a silver platter. I don't get why people think they should get anything. There is no such thing as a "Free" player from the devs side. You cost money, server bandwith, additional maintenance time and storage fees. Even though one person is fractions of a fraction of a penny, it still adds up. The fact you can play the game at all is amazing from their position, and in today's climate where people are wanting a return to subscription based MMOs, I'm honestly amazed they keep it. I hope, however, that your circumstances improve soon, my friend.
  2. Is this rate of XP gain going to be permanent? I'm like, level 54 and I'm only on Nar Shaddar on Republic. I mean I'm loving it, mind, not complaining. Just wondering!
  3. You know, you could use that extra time to study? Just an idea >.>
  4. Star Wars and space combat has never REALLY made sense if you think about it. In reality the TIE would actually be a much more agile craft than the X-Wing due to the fact it's a ball. You could put rotational and positional thrusters all over that thing... but the X-Wing is supposedly better? Reasons for this is simple, in Star Wars space combat works like a standard, modern day air to air dogfight, we have areodynamic A-Wings, long nosed, broad winged X-Wings, Slow and heavy Y-Wings that supposedly handle like a fat bantha... and all this is in space? Where weight and speed mean nothing at all? It's not an inertia based Zero-G style (Think BSG. Ship flying one way, pointing another.) There is just so much "Wrong" with space combat in Star Wars, I think the inertia of a ship in warp is a minor thing, considering ships in modern day naval engagments need to worry about turning too fast. Imagine something the size of an SSD turning? It would _NEED_ to bend or it would littrarally snap. I still love the space combat mind, don't get me wrong on that
  5. For our guild we had a very very simple solution to that. I added "No story-quest spoilers in /G or TS!" to the MotD so everyone sees it when they log in. And no one has done it since You're right though, guy sounds like a child trying to avoid responsibility for his actions. He messed up, won't accept it. Pretty normal behaviour on the webs!
  6. I didn't notice it too much, to be honest. It just look like robes to me. Also if you ware heavy armor pants under the robes you kinda see why it needs that... width. It would clip the armour otherwise.
  7. At launch? Hell I had that last time I played. I also remember before they revamped the world, if you Hearthed to UC, occasionally you'd end up in One Thousand Kneedles, floating in the air, with all the UC NPCs around. This was in Wrath. Yeah...
  8. Worse performance ever? Ever play Planetside back in the day? What about Star Wars Galaxies at launch? Don't make **** up, OP. You just end up looking like an idiot.
  9. I was under the impression that he was intentionally designed that way? Much like how C3-PO is supposed to be annoying.
  10. Anyone else taken to scrolling right past Blackwater's ill informed posts? Guy seems a bit broken if he's STILL here yet hates the game OH SO much.
  11. "The graphics are poor" "This game feels single player" and "I want to queue abilities" and "not enough end game." are not legitimate concerns at all. Graphics do not make a game, they look fine, are heavily stylized and the high setting bug is on course to be fixed. BW are aware. The game feels single player is 100% their interpretation. Is this this most social MMO to date? Not at all. Is it singleplayer? Only if you play it as such. I've leveled from 1-34 as a group. Not queuing abilities? You can set it up to 2 seconds in the options. Go look. Not enough end game? 15 dungeons, two raids and 8 class storylines. More than Cata had. >.> and this hasn't been out a month yet. Those ain't legit concerns, that's clutching at straws.
  12. Perhaps in a future patch\expansion but certainly not on the worlds we have now. Wouldn't complain, having my own starship to wiz about on is already making me nostalgic for SWG.
  13. See the windows analogy a little further back. Then get a clue how making games works. And then go out and get some air you don't like the game.
  14. Yes. It's had 7 years of live support and however many before release. We'll go for 10 years in total. What you're suggesting is that SW:TOR should be in development for 10 years before it comes out. Because that makes PERFECT business sense. All you idiots suggesting SW:ToR should be as "Bug free as WOW is now" don't have a CLUE how the system works. It don't matter WHEN it came out, if it's had an _extra_ SEVEN YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT PAST it's launch. Should we all just play WOW for another 7 years while they bring this in line with WoW as it stands now? No, because that's STUPID. All the people spouting this need to get a grip, seriously. Making a game is not as simple as Cut and paste from WOW. Jeesus my brain hurts from all the mouth breathers on these forums.
  15. What!? Were you around at launch? Or at the Launch of TBC. Or Wrath. Or Cata. Man I have seen some CRAZY things on these forums but man~ that takes the cake. WoW _STILL HAS_ BOAT loads of bugs and every patch they introduce about at LEAST a 100 more. Seriously, go look at the last patch notes and find the "Bug fixes" section. ... WAIT~ You're trolling, ain't you. Had me going for a moment there.
  16. One guy multiboxing and working cross-faction to ensure he could gather up an INSANE amount of credits so he could DOMINATE the market on both sides while it was still fresh and new? Bannable offence right there and it don't take a lawyer to figure that out. The problem is not him taking control of the market, it was the deliberate circumvention of systems put in place to prevent the actions he took (Cross faction comms, body-guards on both sides, multiboxing [Actually is that allowed or not in this?] and the like) Also this game is Themepart, not Sandbox. Rules will be put in place and enforced here, and a golden rule should be "When in doubt, don't do it." As a lawyer you should know that ignorance of the law is not a valid defence
  17. LITTLE~ off topic here, but here we go. You are aware that the whole "One server" thing is sort of a lie? The only one server here is Jita which has it's OWN server. Then each region is a collection of servers. When you move around space, you're just moving around servers. Each sector in a region is essentially a "shard" on that server. Now if they were all connected real-time with no BLATANT connection\loading each time you use a jump gate... then I'd agree. If I could, if I were feeling MENTAL, fly from Jita to Amaar without EVER using a gate, then i'd agree... One server. Right now it's not. I mean look what happens each time there is one of the monthly Jita protests. The thing inevitably crashes... They get away saying it's all one server because everyone is TECHNICALLY able to interact, chances are you'll never meet 99% of the other players because they're all camping jump gates to 0.0 or hiding in Lowsec. If you're lucky they're AFK spamming Jita.
  18. I found that part of the EVE universe got very old, very fast. Just read the chronicles, over 90% end in "AND THEN THEY ALL DIED." Dan Abnett would be PROUD.
  19. I've not read the rest of this thread, so imma just jump in right here, and say I do NOT want this game ran in the same way CCP treat EVE. Let me elaborate: EvE has SO MUCH potential, but that's all it'll ever be. The Devs take a very respectable "hands-off" approach, they add the content and let the players do whatever they please with it. Except the players who play the game are ALL, without fail, warmongers sociopaths. CCP _NEED_ to step in and start taking control. When the devs started adding DEPTH to the game, such as Planetary Interaction, Walking in Stations, etc, people WHINED because it took their attention away from the blandest part of the game, combat (I have flew with security fleets and had an account on there since 2004. Shooting at red + signs got old, fast.) and in my opinion, combat is the WORST part of EVE. Why exactly don't CONCORD hound criminals across low sec? Why exactly did they introduce more character slots, when they KNEW it would just cause paranoia? Why do all the idiot corps doggedly cling to their empty low sec empires and refuse entry to anyone else? EVE was supposed to be ELITE MMO, but everytime they start going that way, the players whinge. So what do they do when the players started whinging that there had been no new ships for a while (Let's ignore the fact there is no real GAP in the fleet make ups these days)? They buckled, apologised () and then tried to win all the mindless PvPers back... wow. No, I don't want this game ran by a bunch of idiots with no vision. SW:TOR is not a sandbox. It should not be ran like one and will need VERY stringent controls, especially this early on. I heard a quote once that I now frequently use whenever I talk about EVE "You let the idiots RIDE the special bus, you don't let them drive it." And that is EXACTLY how I feel about the cess-pool EVE has turned into. That said i'm rather excited about Dust512.
  20. I play Republic. I love it to bits. Also found it amusing your profile picture is a Bounty Hunter. Implies you yourself are primarily an Imp player >.>
  21. I've not seen many people using it yet, though be aware of the location I mention in my sig. On my server people are slowing migrating there and using that GTN rather than the "main" ones. Also was this Empire or Republic? The biggest problem though - Because there is no market established yet, everyone just vendors crap. Wait till the Trade Skillers level up a bit Remember us poor Republic players are under-popped at the moment, which dilutes it further.
  22. I don't know of anyone RPing it, but there are a few people in my guild who run around with Body4 on them. I have no idea WHY they did it, and I feel it ruins my immersion (What kind of military would recruit a trooper THAT big!?) But I have to admit it can be amusing. The biggest problem I have with it though is that it's blatantly obvious armours and clothes havn't been scaled and just instead stretched. Looks a bit bad to see supposed armour plates flex with a belly.
