  1. You posted in an open forum requesting an opinion. It was given. Then you pull the "change my mind" card. That's not engaging in discussion or opinion about a topic, that's just picking a fight. So yeah, any point going further is moot with you, so we'll just end that here.
  2. I'll then attempt to dumb this down a bit and simplify my meaning as you are so hellbent on sticking to and arguing semantics. You asked about who felt better about SWTOR's future because the BS president made a post. I gave my reasons for why I didn't feel better - because nothing has changed in terms of development. It's the same old story. Just because the development company has changed, they literally took the development team that has continued to ignore the feedback given patch after patch about what players believe is bad in the game, i.e., the token/gearing system, interface changes, lack of bug fixes, changing to the combat trees, castrating crafting to near uselessness, etc. I did not literally mean "The players don't get anything they want, and everything they ask for should be added to the game." But frankly, I don't know anything players have requested that was implemented. Even the age-old equipping weapons argument was screwed up and people weren't/aren't happy with it. And quite honestly, if you can't figure out the simplest term of "Action, not words" is referring to, I believe you have other issues to review. Again, semantics.
  3. ^This right here. The problem I see, which I've mentioned before I believe, is the fact they have kept the same line of thinking (developers) who consistently ignore what the players wish for, apply the 'duly-noted' tag and move on with continuing with the dumpster fire they are so proud of to develop. I see nothing new here yet other than a hello from BS, which is what I expect to continue in this game - BS.
  4. Again, it literally says what I said before, and I even provided the quote directly from the developer article. I guess you can keep wishing for it to happen, but it doesn't get any clearer than what they said. We are not getting a companion. Frankly, I'm glad for that, we have enough of them.
  5. There's nothing new to pin though, and that is the latest patch. They will probably pin something when 7.3.1 comes out with GS5 and 3V-1L, and/or if they have a new trailer for that patch (which is doubtful).
  6. The article posted literally says we are not getting a new companion. Star Wars: The Old Republic | News, Updates, Developer Blogs (swtor.com)
  7. ^This right here. The vendors want your old gear for level 80 gearing at the fleet vendors, so if you just bought an item that was actually an upgrade material item, it will remove it and replace it with the one you bought automatically.
  8. So, should they take down every trailer and preview of everything they've done up to this point? What's the point of removing them?
  9. Welcome to buzz words of customer service. There's nothing 'immediate' about bringing up a cluster like this, and there are checks and balances that also should be done anytime you are bringing up an environment such as these. It's not instant, it's not immediate. "Bouncing" a server can take 5 - 30 minutes depending how they are deployed. I wish they wouldn't use these words that they don't understand, as they tend to generate the posts reflecting impatience.
  10. This is where we would disagree as it's no different than Jackie and developers coming here to post as they have, including the director(s). Not doing any kind of transition with some kind of introduction just goes to show that the development and 'care' about this game is moot because that is an absolute failure of Customer Service, not to mention business practices. I wasn't looking for internal operations and being kept in the loop - that's not what interfacing with their player-base is about at all, it's about providing information about the game they are 'developing and supporting' (using those terms really loosely here) including who they are, what their roadmap would be for the game, etc. Not internal operations. What gave you the idea I gave a rat's ass about what they do internally? There's a distinct difference between what they do and what they provide to us, and the latter is what I would be waiting to hear.
  11. Thanks for the information, and I saw almost all of this already (not Twitter, I don't use social media anymore and frankly don't use it as any 'official platform'). The sites that I saw didn't have anything at all posted about Broadsword now being the developer (unlike how they are now) and as others here had the assumption that post 7.4 would be their 'beginning'. So, I was obviously surprised when I saw them listed this early.
  12. Interesting - can you please provide the link that shows the transition has taken place? I haven't been able to find anything that already shows the transition over, on either EA, Bioware, SWTOR or Broadsword's websites to indicate. There was nothing in the forums from the developers other than the announcement, and we haven't moved to the AWS platform. I'm interested in the timeline similar to how the Titanic voyage went, and would like to see from the transition date onward.
  13. Calling or email is the quickest way, support via in-gamel is slower than snail mail.
  14. 7.3 - Not fixed still. Tested again on another character, character window shows the dying correctly, actual model is not. Preview window mimics the incorrect model.
  15. I am talking about a suggestion instead of taxing the community, you give incentives like crafting to have us spend money on. As in, this is something that should have been done instead of throwing a tax down on us.
  16. Thanks, Commander Data. Hitting the mark as usual but missing by a mile the entire point of my post. I normally like what you say here and agree with it, but on this... Like I didn't know any of this and have been paying taxes longer than most people have been alive on these forums. You didn't even come close by quoting a part of my post and then take it out of context to fit your own narrative. Epic. So, using your analogy of benefits to where the tax money goes, please tell me where our SWTOR tax money goes to provide benefits such as new things in game?
  17. In what economy does taxing do anything for someone to want to spend the money they have? Oh yeah, none of them. Taxing doesn't make any sense when you want players to spend their money in game, for game items that can be discarded in a healthier way for the game if that's what they want. For people like me, do you know what I spend my money on? I don't, unless it's needed, i.e., an item upgrade. Taxing me to death isn't incentive to get rid of money, so the efforts are moot to accomplish their goals. I don't buy things from players, and I don't sell things anymore either after this patch. I'd literally go broke from the taxing because of the dumbass system in place that makes no sense on how things are taxed. And quite honestly, it's not really even about the taxing - it's how things are being taxed and what is taxed that is the dumbest thing currently. There are some items I have alone that would halve my current funds just in taxes. Where's the incentive to sell something? Instead - and here's a thought that was already presented by me and others - Give us something to spend money on that is already in game and allow it to be something we want to do. Know what comes to mind? Crafting. That abomination skill set that is an utter joke in game that has been pigeonholed into very specific items to make. They screwed Artificers first as soon as the Cartel Market came about and took away the best-looking color crystals in the game. Then they went after armorcrafters and armstechs. All to fill the CM. Well how about making materials that cost credits, give us unique things back to craft which require those materials we have to buy? There's just one idea. But no instead, let's just tax everyone, piss off the player base instead and nod our heads to the beat of complaining. Like always.
  18. This is where Bioware's "Hooked on Phonics - MMO Financial Edition" is an utter failure, as they were already warned. What I don't get is - yet again - they have been told how these changes would negatively affect the community, tell us - yet again - "Duly noted", then act surprised when we call them out and they 'plan on' implementing a fix. I guess out of 60-80 devs for this game, not one of them does QA/QC testing. I call this the 'Brawndo conversation' (Idiocracy reference). This is one example of how it is supposed to work. Someone already posted examples affecting guilds of how it's not supposed to work.
  19. The Armored Messenger Gloves from Galactic Season Four is bugged when put on a companion. I applied this outfit to Darth Hexid and her hands are a bright pinkish color and doesn't appear to have a texture, but you can clearly see her hands. When you remove the gloves, her hands return to normal, and I can apply any other gloves that do not have this effect. Dying the outfit results in the same bug.
  20. Nope, you are forgetting about Jeff Hickman, who became Executive Producer, who was also from Mythic, and was the worst thing to happen to this game. After completely screwing up DAoC, he walked on here and accomplished the same thing.
  21. Which surprised me, because I actually really enjoy Anthem. It had a good story, the graphics are absolutely stunning, the gameplay is fun... but the story just... ran out. Nothing after you finished it. Extremely disappointed with that aspect of it.
  22. Looks like you can start playing this game then and not feel guilty about a subscription.
  23. Broadsword is a maintenance mode company for MMOs. Ironically, one of SWTOR's previous Game Directors was from Broadsword (formerly Mythic Entertainment) and when he was there, DAoC was an utter s*-show. He came here and did the same thing to this, so I wouldn't hold my breath for updates for this game. As a former Team Lead for Mythic, I can say that interference in DAoC by developers was beyond frustration. EA also loses its exclusivity at the end of 2023, and I hope every other publisher out there frankly does better than EA, after the way they have mandated how this game has gone. It's been in life support mode for some time already, even though we've been getting a bone here and there, it's nothing like a developer/publisher should be doing even for a game this old. FFXI is older than this spaghetti and it gets updates, so age is not an excuse. There is mind blowing interest in Star Wars, and if developers were allowed/cared to fix bugs, make things right, stop screwing around, this game could be really good again.
  24. And now they are bringing Star Forge down. Maintenance in 10 minutes.
  25. The problem with your analogy here is those companies charge fees in order to have operational costs. So, where does this digital currency go in SWTOR? Nowhere. It's not any kind of operational cost to direct trade, unless they are just calling it the 'A-Hole Tax' - because they can. That's all this is - it's over-reach on taxing players for absolutely no reason. And the fact that all of you keep missing - I have no problems with their other changes related to appropriate taxing. I think direct trade taxing is stupid, absurd and they go too far. And, I don't even buy anything from the GTN or other people - that's how dumb I think this tax is. Also, I'm not one of the rich whales in game - I couldn't afford a single thing on the GTN. As I said before though - it's a moot point to make, as they may read our feedback, but they have never implemented anything from us related to concerns. If it in fact goes live, that will probably be the last time I subscribe, and just move on.
