Skolops more or less said everything I would have said and more, but there's one thing I almost never see other Sharpshooters do that I really want to point out, and that's that you want to make the most of the Snap Shot talent.
While the global cooldown in some ways renders Snap Shot moot - GCD is 1.5 seconds, CB cast time is 1.5 seconds - there are plenty of situations where this instant CB is extremely useful. Trickshot on cooldown, Quick Aim just procced, still want a big burst? Pop up and back down, Aimed Shot->CB, that TS should be ready again by now, too. Need to do some damage but you're not in a good position? Pop down, CB, get back up.
Snap Shot has got an internal cooldown of six seconds, meaning it's easy to set up between or in the middle of rotations. Ballistic Dampers also proc upon entering cover once every six seconds, if you have it, and Cover Screen offers similar synergy -- neither are vital (and if you're picking one at all, go for BD), but if you have it, that's what they're there for. Also, keep in mind Trickshot and Quickdraw can be used while you're up and about, and let you keep up that burst DPS while you're popping out of cover.
In short: Unless you're taking fire and really need that defensive edge, or you're in a good position to Hunker Down, never forget to exit and re-enter cover so Snap Shot can proc and give you that instant-cast Charged Burst.
