  1. ^this. As a fellow tank I'm slowly going insane without ToT. It's even worse for me as an Assassin tank since my class was bred and born for AoE tanking. ^this ^this x1mil
  2. What this game really needs is ToT (Target of Target). It is DESPERATELY needed. As a tank I like to know when taking 4+ things if everything is aggro'd onto me and not a melee, or some ranged standing too close so it isn't noticeable and I have no idea which one is on a player to taunt off of. As far as people complaining about wanting a recount-esque addon, please for the love of all that is good and holy DO NOT BEND TO THIS. Some people genuinely use this addon as a way for self improvement, and as a way to monitor if everyone is doing their part, HOWEVER, we ALL know a VAST majority of people who use this are what I call "Meter Maids". They post numbers every chance they get and try to be-smudge people for doing something less than they have. Despite the fact they post "overall" and not "last fight" to prove how amazing they are at AoE for trash and how badly they suck for bosses. You all kow what I'm talking about too... Or maybe you don't, and if that's the case you probably fall under the Meter Maid label. Just sayin'. And before someone goes spouting off about how people against the idea of Recount are just crappy players, I can assure you I was consistently top 3 DPS AND heals in end-game raiding guilds BC-Cata. I am just tired of seeing people spit on one another because of this addon. Another thing I'd like to see is Bartender, or a variation of. I hate that I can't move my bars or adjust the sizes, or add more slots. While I can deal with the default if we're all throwing out what we'd like to see implemented this is a big one I agree on. Something that should NEVER be implemented is Auctioneer. My god. Can you people get ANY more lazy with this?? You don't need this at all for SWTOR. Stop it. You put your item in the sell window and the price is PREDETERMINED FOR YOU. How much more hand-holding can you get? Please note this is PURELY for selling, not trying to look things up... Don't get me started on the 10 step process it takes to look for a specific item and how frustrating it can be. The only other option I'd like to see in game would be the ability to determine what chat channels are stickied and which are not. Yes, I realized it has 0 impact on the game and is pretty much worthless, but it would be a nice QOL addition. As far as macros go... Well that's a sticky situation. I'm all for being able to use my fancy gaming mouse and keyboard for keybinds and macros, but the thing is if they allow it then people will find ways for the 1-2 button wonders. You cannot escape it; With enabling one, you can't combat the other. Yin and Yang. All in all, macro's and addons are a spoiled child's dream that we've all grown accustomed to thanks to WoW, Rift, and other MMO's I can't think of to mention. Do we need them? No. Are they nice to have? Sure. Will BioWare break and release the ability to make addons? Maybe. I'd hate to see it go to the dogs like it did in WoW, but I really would like the ability to move my UI around.
  3. I agree with OP's first list of why and how it should be implemented, they are all valid points. However I disagree with nearly everything said in the second listing. Chat bubbles promote face to face interactions with other players. -- Chat bubbles have 0 impact if someone is going to talk to you. If you're speaking in /s someone will either disregard or participate, regardless of chat bubbles. They promote multiplay instead of solo-play - most desirable in a MMO. -- Multiplay? How? Chat bubbles (or lack thereof) don't dictate if you're going to chat/group/raid with others do they? It's never stopped me. They allow people to focus on the world in front of them, and not a tiny chat window in a corner. -- The chat windows CAN be resized, moved, separated and it honestly is PART of the world in front of you. Now, where to put them is a whole different matter from lack of personal UI optimization. The fast scrolling chat window is impossible to follow conversations while in an area with a large amount of people. -- Solution: Create a specific window in your chat for say/yell/emote (This is what I do for several chat panels and it's perfect for never missing anything.) Chat bubbles greatly improve immersion into the game world (click here to read a post explaining how if you don't understand). -- I'm sorry but I fail to see how something as distracting as chat bubbles provides immersion. It doesn't take but a few seconds to read, no matter where you read it from; Via chat bubbles OR in the chat window, you're still reading it and must take the time to do so. Nothing THAT important can be going on to where you have to be able to say "MAN I have to stop EVERYTHING to read this and can't continue on with what I was doing". As you mentioned earlier, there are no chat animations, so what are you looking for? I truly don't understand this claim. The game world seems to be less sterile and more alive when you can actually see player characters talking. -- I'm assuming you might have trade/general/PvP channels off? People are talking constantly here so the world don't seem sterile at all. As far as seeing them "physically" talk, you already covered that in an excellent idea in your previous listing about adding talking animations. Chat bubbles have been a standard feature in almost every mainstream, premium priced MMO released during the past decade. Not having them in TOR is laughable and a step into the stone age of MMOs. -- One of the few things in list two I agree with... Although the comment of being in the stone ages is an unnecessary bash and sensationalized to try and get a point across. Making new chat channels is not a useful alternative. -- Another thing I agree with from list two. Chat channels are really only successful if you have a lot of people who know about it and don't abuse it. People with various visual impairments rely on chat bubbles in MMOs to be able to communicate and play with other players. -- This... This I'm not sure of. It makes sense when you think about it, but if they have problems reading text, there is an option to make the chat window text gargantuan. Aside from that, I don't have much else to add and will err on the side of caution and agree. Without chat bubbles, roleplay and socializing is nearly impossible especially in crowded areas, it's tedious and simply is not fun - especially in areas where there are many people or during questing and other parts of the game. -- It's... Really not. Again being sensationalized. If you choose to socialize/RP in the open, you're going to HAVE to deal with people being around and cluttering up the window. It will ALWAYS be tedious to wade through masses of people talking in the same place, chat bubbles or not. If it's such a bother, then form a party/raid and do it there to make sure nothing is missed. Chat bubbles benefit all kinds of players - be it socializers, roleplayers, Group/Flashpoint/Operations PVE players and PVP combatants (that don't rely on voice chat) among others. -- To say it benefits everyone is an overstatement. Last thing I want to see in groups/flashpoints/operations/pvp is a bunch of people spamming crap in /s to clutter up the window with bubbles even more when I'm trying to do something. It's a quality of life thing for some people who claim they can't live without it; It has no real benefit to the game. A large amount of the player base want chat bubbles as an option. Bioware said they are implementing player's wishes - this is a top priority wish/issue for a large part of the player base. -- As long as it has the option to be turned OFF, I see no harm in it. Having a client side option to freely turn chat bubbles on or off to each player's liking will allow every player to enjoy the game, whether they need chat bubbles or not. Everyone has fun, everyone is happy, everyone wins! -- <-- This. For those of you claiming you simply can't play/can't RP/can't enjoy the game without chat bubbles -- Really? You really can't? It really sounds like you're being melodramatic about it to me. I saw a post somewhere in this thread about how people don't RP in public because there is a lack of chat bubbles, and I have to say I find that hardly convincing. That seems extremely sensationalized to back up the claim of needing chat bubbles in regards to something they've noticed. Are they right? Possibly, although it might be more of a dead RP server that there's a lack of public RP - Or maybe people enjoy to RP with just friends/guildies because someone randomly interjecting themselves into the situation is awkward. Imagine yourself at a bar IRL, chatting with friends and someone you don't even know coming up and randomly trying to be apart of your conversation... Sounds a little awkward don't you think? TL;DR: While I do agree that a chat bubble OPTION (complete with the ability to be turned on/off) should be in-game for those who would like it as fluff, I disagree with all the claims about how the game is miserable and can't be enjoyed without it.
  4. I'm noticing a severe lack in "Force Wielder X" mods... I thought they would be on the trainer once I reached 400 but here I am, without mods being able to craft for myself (and haven't been for a long time). They have the armor, not the mods. What? I know there are other variances of mods for all types (since I've seen them on vendors, for example) however I'm unsure about how to get these schematics. I've scoured the AH for Cybertech schematics however there's usually only the mounts and starship upgrades. Do I have terrible luck? Or are different schematics of mods/armor for Cybertech drop from world bosses? I have also been considering buying up the specific mods/armoring I'd like to have on my own crafting list from the Commendation vendors, and REing them to see if they would yield that pattern. Can anyone confirm if this works or not? TORhead doesn't have much information on it right now so I thought I'd ask the community from more experienced players. I mean, it has the mods listed, however there's no comments or information on where to go about getting them from, or if they are craftable by Cybertech.
  5. Thank you all for answering, however I'm now curious if Orange is in with the PvP weapons and rewards as well?
  6. I KNOW they exist. I've looked all over torhead and I've seen NPC's with them. However I can't find any information on how to obtain them -- All info on torhead for these crystals is blank, with no comments. One of my friends made mention about buying weapons off vendors with the purple color crystal inside and just pulling the crystal from there, but I don't know.... That can't be the only way to obtain them, can it? Does anyone know if Artifice can craft purple crystals? Does it require finding a rare schematic? Are they a world boss drop maybe?
  7. It seems that after leaving the planet and seeing several loading screens from traveling it entered just fine that next time it prompted me.
  8. I realize there are tons of posts about the Legacy Surnaming system, however from what I could see no one was having the issue I am. Or if they were, it wasn't mentioned. I go to type in a Surname, and click "create". It appears to have entered just fine (no error messages), however when I go to check my titles it's not there... Odd. So I press K to pull up my Legacy tree and the "Create your legacy" window pops up again, with the name I had previously entered within the textbox. I click "create" and still nothing. We are now in an infinite loop. Is there no error or message saying if a name has been taken already? I'd have thought if a name was already on someone's account it would give a message saying something like "Sorry, that name is already taken" or something to that extent. However I'm seeing no prompt about it being rejected or already taken. TL;DR- What does the error look like if a Surname is already taken?
