  1. Never tried playing with 2 monitors, but the game (generally) runs fine with 3 monitors at 5760x1080 with two old ATI HD5870's in crossfire. A single old HD5858 will run at 5760x1080, but in places like fleet my frame rates sometimes drop into the 40's.
  2. Was an unannounced roll back really necessary? I was in the middle of Section X, got booted to the character select screen, then when I reentered all my dailies, my weekly and all my drops, etc since the server came back up are all gone.

    Before you fix any more cash shop cosmetics, PLEASE fix the server stability issues, fix mail, etc.

  3. Because YOU don't have lag issues doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

    While I can understand that some here are happy that their outfits are no longer "clipping" so they can look cute, (and that's a good thing) pressing issues like crashing to the character select screen when entering WZ, mail being inaccessible, not being able to post more than 2 or 3 items in GTN at a time, and logging in to find one quickslot bar with F2P restrictions are all much more relevant and pressing issues. A year after launch and the memory leak problem still isn't fixed.

    Three days ago I logged in, had only one quickslot bar, my speeder was gone, and speeder piloting 3 was "unlearned." After relog I was able to re-add my other quickslot bars and another digital deluxe edition letter received so I could reclaim a replacement speeder, however it still cost me another 150k to re-learn speeder piloting 3. Will I have to spend 150k credits to relearn skills everytime the server acts stupid? I shouldn't have to eat that cost.

    My problem is that EA/BioWare seems to be focusing only on cosmetics and cash shop issues, while everyday playability issues are put off. While I look forward to the upcoming "expansion," I'd honestly rather they delay its release and dedicate a few weeks solely to fixing the game and getting it to where its playable again.

  4. 95% of my lag issues happen while PVPing. I don't think the problem is on my side, since these systems and internet connections are solid when playing Tera, Rift, Aion, Guild Wars 2 and Lord of the Rings.

  5. Recently I reached level 50 with my Powertech. It's my first level 50 alt.

    I got the Tionese gear as a reward for reaching level 50 and decided to go to Section X and try to obtain HK51. After several tries, getting my *** kicked by the mobs, (despite of the Tionese gear) I got very frustrated by the fact that all the dailies I picked up are marked Orange instead of green and my *** is kicked all the time.

    I'm starting to believe that maybe my gear isn't good enough. I'm not much of a PVP-er and haven't got any experience with endgame gear and operations and such. I haven't done Ilum yet, does that make any difference perhaps?

    Need some advice in how to gear my alt properly so that I can do dailies easier with better gear and how to participate in operations etc.

    May sound a bit noobie, but I don't care, any help would be much appreciated! :)

    I just hit 50 on my first character (gunslinger) this weekend. I used all of my saved WZ/ranked WZ commendations to get several war hero pieces, and the rest of my outfit I used the recruit set that you get for free at level 50. The recruit pieces I didn't need went on my healing companion whose main stat (cunning) is the same as mine, and I rounded him out with my old level 47-49 gear. I used my free tionese commendations to fully equip Bowdaar, my tank companion, who I use for dailies. This build still needs to be upgraded, but works pretty well to get the dailies done.

    What did you do with your recruit gear? If you haven't claimed it already, consider picking it up and using it on your companion.

  6. Glad to see another grandma gamer here... it seems we're a rare breed in the gaming world.

    I'm a sixty something grandmother of 6 myself, who started competitive online gaming with Unreal Tournament back in 1999. I made the switch from FPS to MMO about 4 years ago, and find myself playing much more since retiring two years ago. I've bounced around to several sub and F2P games, and am now working on capping my first character in SWTOR.

  7. Unfortunately, many people in modern society find humor in offending others. They think it's cool, and the more that it's tolerated, the bigger a problem it becomes. While I haven't seen extreme examples in this game, it was stuff like that that encouraged me to leave/unsub from Rift and Tera.
  8. Now whilst I can understand that this game probably doesn't use or need an SLI setup, I am stil curious about whether or not getting a second graphics card would have any noticeable effect, like being able to run the game in the highest resolution and with all effects up to maximum. Is there anyone here that is running this game on an SLI setup (maybe Crossfire users can report on this too) that can let me know if there are any differences in using a dual card setup as opposed to a solo one?

    I think that the main question that needs to be asked is what type of card(s) do you have? If they're lower end graphics cards and you plan to run with all settings maxed, then you *may* see some small improvements with a SLI setup.

    I'm currently rebuilding my system, but even with most settings maxed, a single old HD5870 pushes 70+ fps in town running at 5760x1080 resolution.

  9. My problem with the CM is the "CM Exclusive" items.

    As a pre-F2P subscriber, anything that was developed for the game was available in-game somehow, even if rare. That no longer applies, and now my subscription buys some things, but not all. That shift in policy diminishes the value of my subscription, and forces me to pay additionally now in order to have access to everything. In my opinion, EVERYTHING that is sold in the CM should be available to subscribers somehow via drop or credit purchase.

  10. Tonight I purchased a purple Endowment Stealth Blaster, but when I tried to equip it, I get a red message pop up in the middle of my screen saying "You cannot use or equip this item due to your subscription permissions." I logged into my account and confirmed that my sub was still active. I also totally logged out of the game and re-entered. The problem persists.

    What the hell is going on? Are we going to have to buy cash shop crap on top of our subs in order to equip purple items now?

  11. To get rid of the gold spammers, I'd recommend the following:

    1. ANY players, F2P or subscriber, who is caught buying credits should be PERMANENTLY banned;

    2. NO access to general chat or tells for F2P players. Subscribers retain full chat rights;

    3. F2P players may only unlock general chat and tells via NON TRADEABLE/NON SELLABLE Cash shop chat unlock purchase;

    4. Spammers should immediately be banned, and the credit card used to purchase the chat/tell unlock permanently blocked;

    Eventually the buyers will get weeded out, and the credit sellers will run out of credit card numbers to unlock chat. Problem solved.
