So that's what that was. Got hit early this morning (2AM?) with it. I was boosting towards you and all of a sudden my engine goes dead. But I make it in range for my Heavies and.... oh wait they're drained too? That is one devastating weapon and probably the only OP thing about gunships currently... Alas, Shock, I think if even half of these people played against you and your premade from hell they would ALL be saying to nerf gunships! I know you've got some serious upgrades, but I'm still trying to figure out how you outran my Nova. It's very frustrating to play against you and your entourage, but all the more of a challenge.

See how deadly the Pike can be!

1. Sensor focus range allows you to spot enemies further out than your sensor radius but only in a frontal cone. 2. Most likely evasion. Currently, evasion is believed to work like this: your accuracy - evasion = % you have to hit. 3. Other than not seeing a damage number pop up, there is no way yet of knowing if you missed. 4. Not 100% sure about this but I think blasters have a dead zone around 300m (min. distance you can hit an enemy). What's odd is that you can literally be 0m from a turret and still shoot it. Any other thoughts? 5. See #4. 6. The 2 blue bars above the target's health indicate their shields. Left bar is front shield. Right is back.

I main my Strike Fighter with ions/heavy/cluster. I've been toying with the idea of switching out the ions BUT those last tier upgrades will be devastating and I think too good to pass up. I'll have to test out not using ions for a day and see how it goes.

I use every ship available to me that I have unlocked so far (Novadive, Flashfire, Star Guard, Pike). It all depends on the situation and how the match is going. I usually start with Nova to get a quick cap on the sats. If the enemy team is using more than 3 gunships in a 12v12 (2 for 8v8) then I get on my Flashfire and hunt them down. But mostly I play my Star Guard and wind up at the top of the charts. I use Pike only if we need the extra firepower. I don't have the Gunship unlocked and it really doesn't fit my playstyle so I might not bother -- they're too easy of a kill. When you have an enemy targeted there will be a light red diamond shape right on the edge of your firing arc (circle in the middle). This diamond will tell you what direction your enemy is and just keep turning your ship until the diamond goes away and the enemy reappears on your screen. Also you can press 'C' to spin your camera around and point directly at your current target without moving your ship.

Thanks Soc! I was having some audio issues the 2nd day (yesterday) but I got them cleared up in Part 2 of the stream. I am definitely wanting to do something with a GSF only guild. I found Lytewraith just last night and we played a few matches together and pretty much owned. Are you on POT5, Soc? If so, we just need 1 more person to create a guild!

I think one of the best ways to get better at GSF (other than practice yourself) is to watch others and see how they play. I played Imperial on PTS but I have defected to the Republic. I use various ships (mostly Strike Fighters) and I'm pretty good but still need more practice. I try to include Tips, Tricks, Tactics & a Q/A into my GSF streams.

I think it's a definite possibility. I've played this game since early launch and have pvped for countless hours. I've joined and left guilds as players changed and servers merged. It's time for a change. I've been playing a ton of GSF (since it went up on PTS), and I absolutely LOVE it! After tomorrow I'll log into swtor only to play GSF. But I am me and you are you. All I'm saying is here is one player ground pvp has lost to the epic space battles that lie ahead! See you in space! P.S. We starfighters promise not to ostracize you "groundies" in the cantinas if you want to sit with us
