  1. I'm sorry but you are wrong on this one. Yes this is a story based MMO, however all of the story content has a Story mode so anyone wanting to play it just for the story can. When you talk about NiM content, it is something that a player has chosen to do because, (weather looking for harder content or better gear,) it is harder.
  2. /signed I'm a vet SWG player and one of my favorite things about that games was how you unlocked the end game content. For those that haven't played there is quest lines for each of the end game raids that have to be completed (only once) to unlock the raid. So here is my idea for adding in Nightmare only bosses to swtor using more or less the same idea. 1) You would start with solo content, 1-2 hours worth, say 5-6 missions spanning 3-4 planets maybe even a space mission or two (that your ship would have to be geared for). During these missions the Big Bad (for this post we will call him Bob) shows his face and you chase him ect. 2) Enter group content in the form of Heroics, say 2 or 3. Players would be able to start building up a group that is on the same content as them. They could also introduce a Heroic 8 here with transport at the end of it to the NiM content. Again this should span more then 1 planet and maybe even add a Heroic to the fleet. And although this goes with saying Bob would have to show up in these Heroics. 3) Make Bob hard. (stop laughing that's not what i mean) My idea to make bosses harder has always been to add more random factors to them. Give him like 12 different types of adds to randomly chose from. Program him with different strats to use and have him randomly chose one at the start of the fight and maybe even change part way through. Make his boss buffs random but connected to the random strat that is in use. I could go on but I think I have made my point. Also keep him unlocked only tell he is defeated, then reset the mission line back to part 1. If this was done well it could also be placed in the game as part of the event system. Give players a NiM bonus boss for say 4 months, and then right about the time players are saying Bob is easy he goes away and gets replaced with Jayne. This would give end game repeatable content that isn't just your daily go here get X number of these. It would also push players towards story driven group content, which if I remember right is a goal of Bioware's in the game. There are a few things I would be willing to accept for this: Voice acting - I just went through 55 levels of voice acting and love it, however I would not fault Bioware for there only being text and terminals. The content time - The content doesn't need to be really long but i would like it to take at least 2 play sessions. And it needs to be well thought out, good content is always better then long content. This is just the idea I have and I think it would be enjoyable.
  3. Hello all - I'm sorry if this info is somewhere else I just can't find it. Can someone link a good resource site for Makeb? I'm looking for maps and POI's. Thanks:D
  4. Something like that should run the game smooth at high graphics.
  5. I just got a new desktop from Cyber Power PC and although I have always been hard and fast about building my own computer, that would be my suggestion. Even with bargain basement type sites for hard ware I couldn't have built this computer for the price I got it for. From what I understand another good site is I Buy Power, but I have never bought anything from them myself. Both offer good prebuilt desktops for under $500, and from what I have seen anything on those sites will run swtor at its default graphics levels or high with no problem.
  6. On my merc I only use Pyro for pvp. There is a dps lost that's the trade off for the extra mobility. The dps loss was enough for me to notice in group pve runs so I switch back. I have not lvled my PT to 55 yet so I can't speak on that expect to say that the trees are different between the two and look to help with the difference between the PTs melee style and the mercs range.
  7. I turned off fly text. And just created an undock chat window with nothing but combat messages in it. You get the same info and it cleans up your play area.
  8. I'm the same way did everything with my 1st toon, but next few alts I was doing mostly storyline and pvp/fp I only did planet missions if 1) I liked them the 1st time, or 2) I missed them and just wanted to check it out. Also a good way to max out your XP if your above the planet lvl, try running thro your storyline, and that normally unlocks the planets bonus series they are pretty fun, give a good amount of xp and creds, and some good gear. For you OP I would suggest NS bonus series if I remember right you should be the perfect lvl for it.
  9. Sorry one more quick question. Did they change anything about the gear that drops in FP that if I can't/don't want to use can maybe be sold now?
  10. Thank you this looks like what I have been looking for. And know I have a lot of reading before my new comp gets here Monday.
  11. Sounds like the gree could be fun. Another quick request I should have put in the 1st post. Does anyone know of good youtube vids for the new FP/Raids?
  12. A quick point on the commando/merc as a healer. It has been my exp that pvp healing is more their wheelhouse. For FP/raids I always go DPS. The heals trees give big heals for single targets which is good in pvp but not the best for pve. I have a level 50 merc as my main but I have been away for awhile if some of this has changed someone please correct me.
  13. What was the gree event? I have seen some picks of the gear but how was the content?
  14. Returning player with a related question. Does anyone know if set bonuses are attached to the shell or the mod?
