  1. Nice PUG patches I'm seeing lately, lots of fun and always close and challenging. Those transfers did great for most of us solo queuers. Some premades that transfered over here from Pot5 that were probably expecting us to be pushovers...I tell you they've been surprized to lose vs EH Pugs. I'm waiting to see a list of transferred guild names so I know who to gun for, EH ***-stomping ftw.
  2. ummmm do the math with your lower crit rate and you'll see that Alac is actually a better value.
  3. I'm a firm believer in Alac build, I've done the math in another thread and wont again but its strange how people have a problem with energy management when this does not affect the frequency of energy building abilties since they are sped up the same amount as the Alac effect itself. look at your rotation sequence, see how much rage it generates and it spends over 20 full GCD. once you apply Alac reduction you'll still be generating/spending the same amount of rage with the exception of the delta (1 swing in 20 if you're close to 5%). So really with Alac you're gaining one swing in 20...and if you're telling me that your rage generation exactly matches your rage spent after 20 rounds with no rage to spare then you have a much bigger problem than energy management...you have a rotation issue. plus...that extra strike can be a rage generating strike or a none rage strike ( a free dual saber throw?).
  4. I hit Outlaw's Den on Saturday at noon (3pm EST) in hopes of making the AB duels but I didn't find anyone there. I'm assuming it's held at some other location.
  5. Nice, I'll swing by this thread and the Den more often.
  6. sign me up for the Nadir edition JFFC, how the hell does the East coast get out of work and get home before 4pm on Friday? I must have gotten used to the 2 hour Friday traffic drive in LA.
  7. Pre-2.0 you would put in a minimum of 150-200 crit because it was worth it with that formula no matter what spec you were. With new formula it's too steep and its not worth it unless your spec gains a lot from crit ( ie heals, rage ect.)
  8. 1) I traded the exact points between power and crit ( proportional as I mentioned in my notes) and Alacrity with surge 2) resource is managed and if people cant afford 2 rage every 20 strikes then they're doing something wrong As for your note, you can run these for any scenario you want but make sure your using actual templating numbers. The numbers you see above are from my two actual suits. The only reason I used two variables is because crit and surge are dependent on eachother and I know people will ask for them to be changed to complement each other. Anyway, if you run both separate you will still get lower values vs alacrity. I'm not here to start a revolution to convince you, ill leave that to evolution. Edit: with power constant at 864 and crit constant at 18.04% Set 1 (364 Alac/ 0 Surge) = 1269.822 Set 2 (0 Surge/ 364 Alac) = 1243.665
  9. Where do you get the points from? You have to give up power to get crit... Unless you want to switch out the exp crystals for crit....that's not a good idea. And the rest (about 244) are in acc so you can reach 100%.
  10. I was assuming people that are interested in the math might have already done the simple math: Set 1: Str: 2557 Crit chance: 18.04% Power: 864. Crit Damage Bonus: 51% Crit: 0. Melee Speed Increase: 4.93% (.0795 sec) Surge: 0. Melee Damage Bonus: 745.57 Exp: 2018. Force Damage Bonus: 1165.97 Alacrity: 364 --------------------------------- Set 2: Str: 2557 Crit chance: 25.22% Power: 464. Crit Damage Bonus: 70.18% Crit: 400. Melee Speed Increase: 0% Surge: 364. Melee Damage Bonus: 648.97 Exp: 2018. Force Damage Bonus: 1069.37 Alacrity: 0 -------------------------------- Basic avg dps formula with crit: (avg dmg + (avg dmg * crit % * surge % ))/strike time in seconds ( use basic special attack formulas and average the min max to get avg dmg for a strike) Set 1: Massacre avg dps with crit: (1579.96 + (1579.96 * 0.1804 * (0.51 +.3))/(1.5 - 0.07395) = 1269.822 dps Set 2: Massacre avg dps with crit: (1383.36 + (1383.36 * 0.2522 * (0.7018 +.3))/(1.5 - 0) = 1238.758 dps Massacre is an example, you can use this on all special attack formulas and you'll get these results.... In fact massacre has a 30% increase in crit damage and I used that in there just for your case's benefit but it still falls short of power/alacrity build. There's a lot bigger gap when you put in you rage builders and other "noise" styles between massacre and scream. Remember scream is not an autocrit so that argument has less credibibility. Set 1 and 2 numbers are straight from my excel and in game character sheet. I used power /crit as proportional trade offs and alac/surge as proportional trade offs.
  11. 0 crit if your carnage, full power/Alacrity build.
  12. Alacrity is right below exp, Str, and 100% acc as far as importance to a carnage Mara at least. Math doesn't lie, go 0 crit/0 surge and full power/Alactrity.
  13. The hilt description states "This Hilt can be used to upgrade your force weapons and offhand items." The first weapon I bought said that on the hilt and I assume it can be equipped in the offhand, wouldn't you think so?
  14. "these days" as in after 2.0? i didn't see anything mentioned about that in the notes. The old WH hilts still work in the offhand although they were purchased in a mainhand weapon.
  15. Anyone else having a problem transferring the hilt from a mainhand weapon and using it in the offhand weapon? We used to be able to do it prior to 2.0 and in fact the description of the mainhand hilt says it can be used in mainhand and offhand weapons.
  16. I tried to make it but was there at 3pm pst and everyone was gone.
  17. 1. Propain 2. Silent Council 3. Marauder 4. Voidstar 5. Total Kills: 84 6. http://silentcouncil.enjin.com/profile/3810735/pics/detail/album_id/219300#pid=1416330
  18. Thanks Arash, went from anni to carnage after nerf...lovin it the more I get used to it. See you in game!
  19. ^^^ As a martial arts and self defense instructor I agree with the quote above. When you're defending yourself with a knife you dont hold it out and in front (like the movies), you reverse grip and keep it hidden in the mainhand. you stike when an oppertunity presents itself then retract to form. So yes there is a different form used when reserve gripping as opposed to the more traditional single hand or pole arm swords being up in front of you for parry/defense purposes. This leads to the consequences of the form, if you are to reverse grip then you need to be versitile (light armor) and your defenses will be lower. This might mean the form itself (if you were to model real life) would be more for the assassin class and not marauder. And if I remember correctly assassins hold their double saber reverse grip when they're running. So perhaps the arguement here is to let Assassins have access to a new form with use of a one-handed saber.
  20. I'll disagree with your thought process there, crafted items aren't in the same market as the masks ect. Work your market my friend, charge an affordable fee and with the volume (since your the sole source) you'll recover your initial investment + some. Once others gain the ability to craft it, undercut them and you'll control the market (or they'll lose their initial investment). Either way, you accomplish what you're trying to now, in a civilized way.
