They are completely different kinds of games. Not worth comparing features. SWG sucked because SOE sucks. The only thing good about it was the community and that has caused people to wear the rose colored glasses when looking back to it.

The funny thing about this is, I played Aion and Rift, each of which addressed these "issues", yet both games ended up being really freakin boring. You see, the things you listed are minor. Point 2 isn't even an issue and is debatable. 4 classes a side is just wrong. No difference between races is wrong. Space Combat is subjective. The rest of the stuff will easily be patch up in maybe even the first content update. The rest of the game, the part that actually matters, is actually really good. Much better then this crap that I have had to sift through recently, and I am enjoying myself. I love how every quest has meaningful dialog from the person instead of having to read some piece of paper because all the quest-givers are apparently mute. I love the atmosphere of each world, how they used stylized graphics, and how the music and ambient sounds add to it all. The fluidity of the combat is spot on, and I don't have entire rows of useless abilities (Rift). Each of the classes are fun, I will end up playing 1 of each class type, because of the story and combat. The companion system is a great idea and advancement in the genre. The flashpoints are fairly well done for first attempts, MUCH better then the garbage Rift or Aion put out. There are a few minor issues, but these are really really minor, and will most likely be worked on now that the game is launched. Once these are ironed out, the game has a lot of potential. There is a lot of money behind this game, and BioWare is a very good developer...I see this turning into a very great game as it matures..if people don't start quitting because they can't tell the difference between a Twi'lek and a Human.

Lol, you expect flashpoints and game encounter mechanics to come with a manual? What kind of challenge is that? It completely ruins the point. You are supposed to have to figure things out on your own.

There is nothing BioWare can do sans invent new servers that can handle all the people trying to login. With a game this popular, people just have to accept that there will be queues. It'll never happen though..people are idiots. These same threads were all over Rift forums when it launched. You can't just guess the amount of users you have and open that many servers, only a complete fool would do that. You would be closing/merging servers left and right and that would look terrible. Not to mention it would waste money.

Just going to have to deal with it for the first few days of launch.

Rift was exactly like WoW. Except is had zero personality or soul and the story was absolute garbage. That's why it regularly sells for like 5 dollars now.
