  1. Thanks Peytona. I decided I want Assault Plastique and Blaster Augs from Tactics, so that only leaves me 3 pts for Shield Spec. I do also have one point in Reflective Shield (32 total in Assault) which I might consider moving, but at this point I will plan on 2 pts in Brutal and 1 in Intim. because the more I play this spec and think about it, the more I want HIB to hit as hard as possible. Thanks again.
  2. I am only mid 30's on my vanguard, but I have already noticed that one of the main focuses is to setup Ionic Accelerator for a HIB proc. This makes HIB more important than I first thought. I have designated 3 points to spend in Shield Spec tree. I was planning on putting them into Intimidation, but now am not sure if 2 points in Brutal Impact would be of more benefit. So +4% elemental damage vs 6% HIB, with the goal of setting up the best burst possible for pvp. Are there any deep assault pvp's, who have tested both care to enlighten? *Edit I guess I have a second question, or more of a curiosity. When IA procs a free HIB, do you still get 1 cell generated from High Friction Bolts?
  3. I thought Assault Specialist was the Ranged DPS tree.? *Ah, never mind. I see it only adds 2 ranged attacks.
  4. I think the closest you can come to "feeling" you are looking for, on the empire side would be with the Bounty Hunter. The BH is more of an independent who happens to take jobs from the empire. (also Mako helps keep you inline alot) But on the other hand, if you play the light side of the BH, you end up lying alot and taking pay for killing someone you really let go and/or helped in some way. So are you still a "good guy"?
  5. I will likely get flamed for posting something that is more based more on "gut feeling" than data, but here goes: I feel Accuracy is highly underrated with opinions being based on how it works in other games. Why I feel that way (and my under-nourished data)? On my Smuggler I created a reusable Accuracy adrenal (had lots of mats) and ran a small test. I attacked two different types of mobs at least 10 times with each ability (I know, small data set) with and without the adrenal (which I think was 120 acc). With every ability, even the tech based ones which start with 100% hit chance, the average damage when up. In the case of the Thermal Grenade it was almost 15% more damage. At any rate, take it or dismiss it as you will, but I feel Accuracy is more valuable than most are giving credit.
  6. From what I understand, there is a 1 to 1 ratio of benefit from your main stat and a point of power. So why have stims with both? ie like instead of 60 cunning + 27 power, why not just 87 cunning. It seems like it is the same thing.
  7. Actually I just did some testing. I have lots of mats for low level med packs and put all my companion on making them. After 20+ RE on green medpacks, I finally got an upgraded blue schematic. So, it still works, but it sure seems like the rng chance has been lowered.
  8. Has anyone gotten a new schematic from RE non-implant biochem items, after the patch? I have not seen one, have you?
  9. Have you personally tested this? ie have you droped Biochem with a Rakata item in your inventory and found you can no longer use it? The reason I ask is that there is no Biochem requirement listed on the item stats itself, so if it does indeed work this way, Biochem is a hidden requirement.
  10. Yes, many people will do this, and it will work until the first expansion that increases player levels. You will still be able to use your same Rakatas items, but there will be higher level BoP items when the crew skill levels go up. This happens in most all mmo's.
  11. If you read what I was responding to, my answer would seem more appropriate. "Go in-game, pop your speeder and begin to move foward the moment it appears, it'll pop you right back off." This one point is caused by activation time. Was not responding to entire thread, although I think there is a lot of misunderstanding about the relationship between the ability queue and gcd in high lag situations.
  12. It is not very hidden. Read the tooltip for your speeder. lol
  13. That's because the speeder has an activation time (cast time). If start to move before the cast time is up, it cancels the spell, or in this case mount. The activation time is by design.
