  1. i absolutely agree with you, it's a great game and really doesn't deserve the constant negativity people lavish on it- I've played alot of games in my time and quite a few MMORPG's but this one is the best I've played yet- in all respects.
  2. i disagree, i love this game, and i think it's only going to get better with time- as good as other games like WOW might be, i feel this game is better. Bioware did an excellent job imho, and they're continuing to do so
  3. you've probably been playing it for longer than you'd spend on most $60 games, if you spent $60 on it- you've already gotten plenty out of it
  4. As an SI i think the SI storyline would be light side The Jedi Knight would be Ligh tside The Sith Warrior would be dark The Consular would be dark i don;t know enough about the other classes to know, at the same time, with such a long time between swtor and what happens after- it might not be much of an issue at all- not needing to be mentioned
  5. a single world arc/ flashpoint/ raid dealing with one of the scouting parties would be pretty awesome
  6. honestly? like most MMORPG's unless you're playing with friends whom all have different classes than you, you'll need to divorce your character from their "official" storyline anyway- in multiplayer rp, you have to account for multiple heroes often doing many of the same things, since you're divorcing it from that anyway, rpers should have no trouble with the necessary suspension of disbelief- when you roleplay, your character isn't THE hero, they're A hero. I remember from World of Warcraft, my Paladin had almost nothing to do with the Sylvanus ICC instances- or the main raid that i did. Storywise, he was part of a heavy branch assault going after the nearby cathedral of darkness, prior to that he didn't level throughout Azeroth, he spent 1-60 as a part of the Argent plague lands fighting after having been stranded outside of Silvermoon. All of the above takes only the lightest inspiration from his actual experiences, and the same goes for the stories crafted around the characters of my friends. I retooled things to fit into a multiplayer role playing perspective. My personal story? My Sith Assassin and Jedi Sage are going to be brother and sister (lightside / darkside respectively- so much duality, having been split up at a young age- the families daughter ending up with the jedi order- and her brother the force sensitive slave), My Operative will probably be a cousin if i can arrange it properly- her family having assimilated into the Empire. I haven't really figured out sons and daughters yet- and I'd be more likely to make adopted ones anyway.
  7. Sith Inquisitor male... especially his one quote in the Romance storyline you get for taking the option "What Jedi could resist a sith?" or one of his standards "I'm going to enjoy killing you..." i also think the fem consular voice is pretty cool as well
  8. heh, i probably just like the crafting system because I'm used to WOW's much worse version- but it's tolerable, particularly if they keep playing with it. I normally dislike PVP, but this game has made me enjoy it- so if you haven't tried much of it it, i would recommend giving it a shot (if only for variety). yeah, consolidating servers would probably be a good move- maybe something closer to an LFD system too- though I'm wary because i remember hating PUG's in WOW after that was implemented...
  9. Have to agree with OP, it's a fairly awesome game, all around- i love the immersion, the game play is just as intuitive as say "WOW" and even as an English Major reads way the heck too much: the writing is excellent. as for the gear- it feels starwarsy to me, for the most part- but then again i'm somewhat familiar with a lot of the less iconic Expanded Universe stuff, so maybe that's why
  10. The Presentation of the story and the writing itself is significantly better than previous MMORPG's, playing a tank in pvp seems to feel a bit better to me- i feel like i can actually play a role in protecting nearby group members. I love the orange gear system as well, also, there's a substantial amount of gameplay variety, considering Questing, PVE, PVP, Roleplaying, relatively detailed professions (more so than WOW, if not like SWG), Datacrons, and space battles
  11. I would like both Capital Ship fights and 3-D space Battles- the 3-D space battles are a little more important to me, but i would love for both to eventually be in the game so i gave my vote to emphasize the importance of the less-voted for one the funny thing is- i like the space system currently in place- the cinematic railed space battles are awesome- and a tad more realistic (military space operations would have predetermined flight paths after all, mostly) but i think the ability to mix both- particularly with the potential for co-op space and space pvp would be great throw capital ships into those battles- and i think it could be lovely- also i wouldn't mind seeing space combat worked into raids somehow if we got more ship customization/space detail. Space has always been a big part of the star wars fantasy for me- and the ability to do more with it- make it a fleshed out part of the game would be pretty sweet but yeah- love what's come before and super excited to see where the space game might go!
  12. Hats off to Bioware, questing is amazing, the environments are amazing, the story is so full of win the hours fly by- and what group content i've done has been awesome. I already identify with my character more than in multiple years of WOW, and i can't wait to see the rest of the game (and by that i mean i'm waiting for friends to get the game and catch up ) This game is shaping up to live up to all the hype i tried in vain to control in the years leading up to it's release... all the expectations i tried to keep as low as possible, it reminds me of why i really love playing video games. So Bioware, as a more-than-satisfied-customer i just want to say, thank you and your developers for producing some of the best entertainment i've had the pleasure to sink time and money into
  13. not until you out level it significantly, i would recommend grouping a little bit- it's a great deal of fun to break the monotony of leveling alone. That being said, you probably won't have to worry about *having* to do the flashpoints to progress either. now, i'm not going to get pissed at you, to each their own, and i'm sure you'll have fun... but what on earth is attracting a non-social gamer to an mmo?
