  1. Cost of the GTN one aside.. is 500k really too much for this stuff? Legacy wide?
  2. So it's a week's worth of casual dailies. For a permanent unlock across your whole legacy... and you don't have to unlock all at one time, or completely in one go. It's a legacy perk, so isn't designed for new players tbh. If it needs to be re-directed towards new players, then just remove the unlocks entirely, let everyone have them all for nothing and issue refunds. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't do it... I'm saying do it the right way. Reduce the cost? For what? For whom? Who is not currently using it that would use it because of a cheaper price?
  3. Neglible, permanent, legacy wide costs... you can earn that amount in a very short time. Alternatively, just unlock them for everyone and refund all unlocks to those that have them. I don't see the cost of these preventing anyone who wants them from simply buying them.
  4. That is, in essence, what the legacy system is, yes... all your characters are force sensitive.
  5. I think for a lot of us that disagree it is because it is not an EITHER/OR situation as you put forward... we do both. That's the easy way. It's late, I'm rambling... I play the game, doing whatever I like, in whatever group format I choose to do... in doing so I get loots, some of them will be usable in some regard, others will not... every now and then I get to upgrade one of them due to UA, usually a couple of pieces a week. Eventually, VERY SOON tbh, on my main this will be done for 248 (think I am 3x246 pieces away), it was done for 242 well before 5.1... I see the same with a lot of characters I examine while waiting for pops or whatever... it is a long time between now and 6.0, ie: the next expected gear increase. The gear drops now quicker than any other release for me, and I tend to play fairly evenly across the board, slightly more pvp than previously at the moment but that's mostly because GSF gets consistent pops again I have an issue with deleting legendary item modifications, but it is going to have to start happening very soon before I run out of room... if you aren't like this now, don't worry, it wont be long. I am not bragging, simply pointing out this gear is supposed to last, it will be with us for the next 6 months or so, none of it is going to go away any time soon... you will keep looting it, and looting it and looting it... not tokens, the actual gear, I am up to 4 248 relics already... that said, yes, the old pvp grind (play to win) was quicker and bah, so it takes an extra week or two to get back to bis again than it did 2 years ago, I honestly don't know if that is a good or bad thing any more tbh. I actually think I might enjoy it more if it were longer... seriously.
  6. OK, just reset your current chapter (not even sure you need to do that tbh) and take one of the chapters you have already completed... and complete it... done. I recommend KOTFE chapter 9 for this, space barring through it takes minutes. Depending on the chapter you had originally tried, you may need to visit the companion terminal to get the odd companion back into your roster.
  7. Adding expertise back in to the game is no solution for anything. I have 14 items in my 6 set bonus heal set (PVP or PVE, no difference), which I can change to a 6 set bonus dps PVP set (no accuracy) with just 5 items changed and again to a 6 set bonus dps PVE set with only a further 3 items changed (full accuracy). So that's 22 items all told - this covers the 4 spec/gameplay set ups for a heal/dps. With expertise, it was 19 for the dps/heal pvp set (14 main spec and 5 alt spec) and 19 items for the dps/heal pve set (again 14 main spec and 5 alt spec, accuracy for the dps would be in the swapped over pieces)... 38 items all told. Its a significant saving... 75%+ I know Tank gearing is still a real pain, but this has improved the situation for 5/8 of the advanced classes and from what I see it has not made it worse for tanks. It would be nice if they could do something about that though. At least tanks can console themselves with knowing that a dps PVP/PVE set isn't two whole sets (28 items as it used to be with expertise), but only 17 items, so there is that.
  8. My 2p on the subject... I think its basically inevitable, to a certain degree and I think it is due to a clash between the amount of cxp we now get (and crates we open versus the amount of crates we were "expected" to open per session) and an in-game mechanic for regulating the loot drops. I, too, noticed and commented with my guildies on the blue relics... Time and time again I have noticed a series of the same item dropping... I got 6 tier 3 chest pieces in 7 crates one time... 5 purple and then finally the legendary, it then stopped. I have had similar experiences with both implants and relics, and well, other "trends" have occurred but maybe not so significant. Something interesting to note, maybe, is that when the chest piece "run" happened, I needed a chest piece to finish the set. Was this the result of some mechanic to regulate the drops? (but it might be a little broken?) Is it just a coincidence that we are simply noticing due to the apparently poor return on the relic? Would we notice it any more or less, or significantly, if it were a chest piece that was dropping? I don't know. All I know is that I did notice the more significant chest piece "run". This is background info: When the loot system was first announced, as an analyst programmer, I set up and ran some loot simulations in order to find out what the best tactic for advanced class switching was in order to maximise your chances in completing a dual dps-heal/tank setup asap. Should I focus on one spec completely and then switch? Should I keep changing my approach based on the gear I still need? Is there a benefit to any one approach over the others? (Hint: Tanks are screwed - two complete grinds; Heals should respec to whichever advanced class they have least of - you fill in both quickly while trying to get the other, given the cross over on usable pieces) So, I have run these loot simulations over thousands of loots across millions of "characters" with these different loot approaches and while it is theoretically possible to loot a set bonus suit in just 6 crates... even with an equal drop rate, it should take many, many thousands of crates to get a set bonus suit at tier 1, 2 or 3 (or a purple/legendary set in tier 4). UA aside, the fact that anyone at all has gotten a complete tier 1, 2 or 3 set at all would be virtually miraculous within the 90 crate bandings... I've now done it a number of times. This leads me to believe that something must be intervening and regulating the loots. I simply cannot be THAT lucky and my experience is in no way unique, it doesn't take a lot to beat those odds, by a long way. TLDR: I reckon something in the game somewhere is doing this... and it might need a tweak maybe? I think it has always been there and we are probably now noticing it more because we loot more crates now than was originally intended.
  9. It really isn't... please don't assume, merely because I am bringing it up that I am ungeared and new to pvp. Why do people do that? I am totally normalised to the difference in your average group rep side and imp side... I play both, A LOT. My main is rep side, but I play both a rep and imp through each weekly and move on after each is done... REP > IMP > REP > IMP and so on. I am very aware of all the stuff people have said about the subject. I have played through every re-gearing release in the game, so I also have experience of the ups and downs of the bolstering/gearing impact in wzs. This is something different though. Even in a one on one, as a healer, I am now struggling to keep up for more than a few seconds - weirdly, not quite so much of an issue imp side... but I am taking that onboard as maybe just some crappy rep side players, for now, even though it informs opinion about where the issue may lie. It may be, and probably is, just a conflation of individual reasons, its also possible it is just a single setting somewhere (which could be easily fixed)... either way, they (Bioware) really should look into it, this cannot be intended design... if it is just a reflection of gearing, then that will be sorted in a week or so, if it is something else and isn't sorted, the disparity currently is game-breaking. Time will tell I spose
  10. Conspiracy theory? Where you getting that from?
  11. ikr, I'm glad someone else is seeing it too.. I've managed to get some impside wzs in and its much the same, somethings gone weird. Is conceivable its class based, maybe faction based, idk what... but definitely something - out of 25-30 odd wz today, rep and imp side, most ended with 40+ kills on one side and 2 or 3 at best on the other. I remember maybe 2 vaguely balanced 8m ones.
  12. which spec? I'm not seeing this at all... or you mean doing badly?
  13. You can just see the difference OVERALL in output in the final score table. Its clear and distinct in all but the oddest rep wins. And please, if they were true mirrors, that would be great... but they are not, they are simply aligned... which means two separate sets of tables and config to alilgn... and they have shown that, well, its clear they play imp in testing any changes, put it that way... since the setting always seems to be right for imp, but not always for rep. There is a precedent for this. I am not talking about general pvp... you are giving reasons why pvp is generally like this... I am saying specifically in the last 24 hours, as a healer I have gone from being able to handle 2 or 3 dps at once while using dcd's, to struggle to cope with a single dps. One tier of gear should not be having this much impact... may be that is the reason, if so, that's still game-breaking.
  14. It's not just about the stats on your chars, its the impact on the damage output (and how that is received too) - I'm guessing (and yes it is a guess) that something along the lines of the old expertise increase to specific areas (damage = X%, heal = Y% so on)... because simply, I'm over the bolster level anyway, and I am getting utterly mashed in 1-on-1's EVERY TIME when 2 days ago this simply was not the case. It is not a case of one or two (or even half) getting gear quickly (I've gotten gear too! as people say here... they use legacy gear on both sides... all players are like this, mostly) its that every imp, in fact, any imp is now god mode, seemingly. The amount of 0 kill wzs now is indicative of this... lots of them in the last 24 hours for me. And please don't assume because it should be the same for both factions that it is... BW/EA has shown time and time again that it doesn't work like that, and the fact that it is aligned is merely due to diligence... so, err, yeah.. can we check please?
  15. Maybe the odd one or two imps in any random group have stacked cxp, but then so would the rep players... there has been a massive step. All I am asking for is they check... like they finally did with the "mirror" abilities, I'm thinking sage bubble... that went unchecked for 3 years. The game is horribly biased, from the ground up... always has been... but it just got even dafter.
  16. Because frankly its ridiculous at the moment... the shift in just 48 hours is bizarre... it is simply not down to just hitting pre-mades. Reps are getting utterly ruined in every single wz currently, significant difference to before 5.2.
  17. Dude, I was merely responding to the OP trying to blame the game for what is in essence a very simple error. I should have maybe quoted him, but it was right there, above my post.
  18. It is an expensive lesson to learn, but (and there are numerous threads about this) if you had a vanity guild and spent time and money on it... why include people you aren't real life friends with? Sorry, buyer beware... it sucks, believe me... but if it was valuable to you, which it seems to be, why jeopardise it by involving people you don't know or trust?? Expensive lesson. Move on. If that means a different game, so be it... but remember... its YOU that did this, not the game.
  19. I'm wondering if you are in windowed mode and the window is off screen? Check in windows display... but also maybe try to start the game in fullscreen? Good luck
  20. If gearing is their sole interest in the game, then maybe yeah. While it's a gauge of your progress in the game, that also has a meaningful impact on your character. It isn't, and shouldn't, and I don't think it's intended to be the be all and end all of the game. I'll stay while I enjoy it. And when I no longer enjoy it, I'll move on, maybe... idk, hasn't seriously crossed my mind at all so far. I have, due to work location, had to take a couple of breaks of a couple of months here and there, so maybe that is a factor... but for me, these kind of games tend to end before my interest in them does. I don't rely purely on the in-game systems to provide the focus of my play... the in-game systems are involved, but its a sense of personal achievement/attainment - not a necessarily a difficulty thing, some are very arbitrary... but things like: I wanna solo clear a TFP, and then I wanna solo clear a HM FP, and then solo clear a specific HM FP... or just something like setting up and gearing a sentinel, just for the hell of it, even though I know I'll never use it. There's that classic of the "Immortal Achieve" is another... tried it twice now and both times got carried away, forgot what I was doing and mindlessly queued for a wz without really realising... second time I was in the 40's too, bah, noob! Lol! I laughed through very gritted teeth the second time! But yeah, some are just "little projects"... idk, one of them at the moment is getting all chars to max influence with the Alliance Recruiters, one I had prior to 5.0 was getting all companions on my main to level 50. Not hard, just some "over-arching" structure and direction to my play. Went on a bit there... What I'm saying is all players have to find their own way... and if that means a different game, fine... at least you are playing something, which in my book is a good thing. Even better if it is one you enjoy! The constant sniping, the constant putting down of what others enjoy doing, the constant whinging about XY or Z (even after XY or Z has been resolved) is just really tedious and really quite unhealthy. Not everyone is on the verge of leaving, not by any means and not by a long way... for some, it's plenty green enough already, cheers. It's definitely not black and white put it that way. And it's not because I'm an Ops player, or a PVP'er or a solo PVE'er or a casual or a hardcore whatever... its because I'm doing this or that with him or her or them or on my own and it puts a smile on my face, or makes me forget the last 8 hours for a moment, or chills me the f down, or whatever - given its a social game, the wide span of human emotion is up for grabs, after all! And believe me when I say its not related to the success I may, or may not, have had in GC... I know it has affected my focus on certain things, for sure, but not my overall enjoyment. I appreciate opinions may vary
  21. Nah, I think its a perfect example... you merely answered with your perspective on it. I am goal driven... IF I am counting my UA Tokens, it is because I want them for something... I want to see that 120 to go down to 60 and then 0, so I can go and buy/upgrade that thing I want. So as far as I am concerned, in the terms of the UA Token count (not the wz itself) getting the pop, playing the wz, finishing the wz AND receiving the token is what I want to do. I cannot guarantee getting the pop and finishing the warzone... both will most likely happened... but many times even if I wanted it to happen, for whatever reason it hasn't. And for this reason... to me, its 3 points earnt. It is merely perspective. But it is indicative of how you view things in the game... I don't expect anything, until its in my inventory. Even when I buy something on the GTN... until that mail arrives, is opened and the item is there, rather than a refund, I haven't bought it... once its there in my inventory and usable by me... then I've bought it.
  22. This! (Or just use whatever comes out of the cxp crates)
  23. Find out if it is still active and base your next step on that.
