  1. I just looked at the server status page, made me actually laugh. Green arrow! Population: Offline Wat?
  2. Personally, I made a gunslinger, and have an alt sentinel, and keeping my commando low level. I enjoy healing. I also enjoy tanking. Probably healing a bit more. However I do not enjoy either of those while dealing with a terrible UI. No target of target display or being able to use click-casting for heals just kills it for me. So I will keep my alt there, ready for the day when the UI lets me heal the way I want.
  3. You mean the 30 second cooldown, pitiful damage, 2 second stun, stealth only knockdown unless you are specced high in the tanking tree? Yes, they are completely comparable. If anything assassin stun needs buffed. 30 second cooldown is stupid when an op can HS, backstab, shiv for a kill and then resteath if nobody else has attacked him, and do the exact same opener on another guy. Or vanish and do it twice for insane damage that pretty much guarantees a kill against any class in the game.
  4. Bump for great justice! I'm playing a hybrid Kinetic/Balance Shadow, and yeah I've noticed that my shield hardly does anything at all. I almost NEVER see the graphic that it absorbed something. Fix this Bioware. What do you think this is? Age of Conan where stats did absolutely nothing at launch?
  5. What this guy said. There ARE some people out there who are pointing out flaws and complaining about the current state of the game because they want it to be better! Just because you complain does not mean you hate the game in any way. It can mean that you are frustrated because you enjoy the game, and want it to be the best, but you can't understand why Bioware has launched it with so many flaws that should have been acknowledged and fixed months and months ago.
  6. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I have not minded ANY launch problems. The problems that I DO mind are the ones that involve basic features missing from the game. This is not a 'new MMO' problem. It's a problem caused by the fact that Bioware spent so much time and money on voice acting every dialogue option that they ignored too much of the actual GAME DESIGN part of it. To name a couple: Ilum PvP zone. There is no UI feature for displaying who owns what. It actually TAKES UP QUEST LOG SPACE. 1/5 of your quest space is gone simply because they decided to make the zone status as quests as an easy way out. Sure you can abandon them day after day, but wow is that ever tedious. They only thing that explains this is they ran out of time and tossed it in there. Hopefully it gets fixed. The unresponsive controls/hotkeys. Already tons of threads involving this. Likewise for the whole UI thing. -Companion bar overlapping another bar, which makes you unable to use left bar hotkeys. Sure you can open/close it all the time, but again, wow, terrible. Especially considering your companion breaks CC's, so you have to toggle their AoE abilities on and off all the time. It WOULD be easier if you could shuffle their abilities around, but no. You have to rebind the keys if you want, but then you are screwed on the next companion. Sorry Bioware, did you even think about this part? -No scaling feature? Seriously? I'm no programmer, but that seems simple enough. -Terrible chat functions! Again, with no scaling feature, if you want multiple windows, good luck. Each window takes up a stupid amount of space and you cannot make them unclickable. I could rant on, but it's all been said before. I have nothing against Bioware, they are a good company and make excellent single player games. However, they are not breaking any new ground here. This is an MMO, people have much higher expectations. And as people have said, you don't compare this game to where WoW was when it came out. You compare them AS THEY ARE NOW. And no, this is not from a content standpoint. This is a basic functionality standpoint. Frankly, I could not care less about them adding more content for a couple months. I just want them to add basic features that should have been in the game at launch. I enjoy this game, don't get me wrong. But they seriously need to step it up and start responding with specifics about what they are doing to improve the game.
  7. Excellent post. I would also like to add that it seems like animations have been interfering with the players ability to activate abilities. Some abilities just seem like they have too long of an animation, and if you try to do anything during that animation, even if the GCD is ready, it will not fire.
  8. I agree with Bollah. It really feels like the animations are directly tied to the use of abilities, which is a straight up idiotic way of doing things. Having both a GCD and an animation limiting their use. How about they do a pass on every ability/attack animation and speed them up so no animation takes longer than 1 second of the 1.5 sec GCD. I swear some things like Corrosive Dart take 1.75 seconds to activate. This is combat, you do NOT take that long to point your arm at something, it is supposed to be quick. Seriously. I don't care what people say, not very many people stare directly at their character 90% of the time in combat, making sure that every motion is perfect. I would much rather have more combat-like quick animations with a little bit of idle/recovery animation for .5 seconds+ that can be interrupted by the animation of another ability that activates right when you want.
  9. Conundrum, you are my hero. These Bioware junkies are hilarious. "Bioware is my god, I worship them every day and they are infallible. Even though this is their first MMO, it is completely perfect in every way, and everyone who wants a change is just stupid. No legitimate reason, just stupid! In fact, why is this even an MMO? We just wanted a multiplayer game, where we could cuddle with the other fanboys in awe of their perfection. They get everything perfect the first time, and there should never be any changes to the game as it currently stands! We enjoy spending 50% of our play time just running, gaping in awe at the scenery even after making the exact same run hundreds of times already." If you tools don't want changes to make the tedious parts less tedious, how about you go back to KOTOR, or Dragon Age, or Mass Effect. This is an MMO, and it's even a SUBSCRIPTION BASED MMO. It thrives on change and progress. You people try using the 'slippery slope' garbage? How about they go the other way, cut off all support, patches, and content updates to you fanboys, and you guys can play the 'vanilla' version into eternity while still paying the 15 bucks a month that NORMAL people pay for their updates and improvements.
  10. Not sure what the problem is. 7-15 minutes for level 141 Underworld Trading. 17-19 minutes for 221 Scavenging. Not sure how long it will be at 300+, but will probably be pretty freakin insane. Not to mention at that level of scavenging, it costs 700-1100 credits per mission.
  11. Yeah, get used to it. So far I have only used maybe 4-5 mods that I have made. The earpieces are useful at least. I guess the droid items can be useful, but he's far inferior to Kaliyo for leveling. I've just been concentrating on leveling it really. Not much use for things this early in the game. Even a toss-up trying to sell anything on the market, since who bothers at this level for such minor upgrades? Currently: 250 Cybertech 226 Scavenging 141 Underworld Trading And making level 34 items at level 26. The annoying part is if you get too far ahead you can't scavenge anything useful, and at least at this level it's 17ish minute companion quest times. =( Just can't wait until level 50 and the reusable grenades!
