  7. agreed, they can speak whatever language they want, doesn't matter.
  8. please allow me to click friendly player nameplates to target them plz plz plz
  9. your computers would have to load it all at exactly the same time i would think. probably not possible... headphones!
  10. coruscant parliament building towers far higher than anything i've ever seen in tf2 (and it looks amazing btw)
  11. client/server synchronization should not affect fps, whether it does in this game or not I can't say. Connection speed and latency determine where and when you see characters in relation to where they actually are on their own screens, how long it takes for you and others to perform actions(client side), have those actions performed(server side), and lastly see the results of the actions performed (client side once again). Again, your computer doesn't normally wait for this information to draw frames, it should be draw them as fast as it can regardless of the information it's sending/receiving to/from the server
  12. you are correct that info on the screen needs to have info from the server to render but the frames don't wait for information from the server to render. they render the information they have and change them as new information comes in. your graphics card doesn't receive pictures or models from the server, all the information that gets rendered is stored on your computer already, every character you see is just a set of variables between you and the server (body type, hair, scars, armor, weapons, etc.) - your statement about lots of character in one area can cause framerate issues was correct because if there are a lot of character models to draw and activity on the screen it taxes the computers resources. not because you have to downlaod a lot of things but because your graphics card has to draw a lot of complex models on a side note, wireless sucks
  13. ok well if that's the case then there is something very strange going on, i agree the more players you have to render the more strain on the pc. so allow me to re-phraze network connection and server load should not effect framerate unless you are in an area with a lot of player characters that need to be rendered. the fact that switching from wireless to a ethernet cable affected the framerate is a bit distressing to be honest. internet connection deffinately should affect gameplay (the time it takes to perform an action vs the time it takes the server to aknowledge said action, i.e latency) but it should have no bearing on actual framerate, that just doesn't make sense.
  14. perhaps you need more ram 4gb isn't very much these days when i play ( i stream so that takes up a bit) I use over 6gb of ram A lot of the geometry in this game is really massive, like looking up at the parliment buildings in coruscant or whatever it is and the spaceport. they are gigantic, that theme is carried on throughout the game. I would imagine with structures like that around it would put a big strain on your system. on a side note, I run an intel core i7 2.6ghz, amd radeon HD 5870, 12gb of ram. I also live stream most of my game play and generally see around 60fps and 25-30 in very highly geometric areas. these are acceptable numbers for me as i've been streaming a long time, always monitoring my fps and processor loads, and have seen a wide variance in performance among a lot of games. There are always fluctuations one thing i have noticed is any area with with a fog or dusty effect (read- high level of particles) will always always bring your fps down. anone that's ever zoomed in on some crazy particle effect with a less then optimal rig will know that they can kill framerates. this is just speculation but it feels like this game renders areas in chunks (very smoothly albeit) and when you get into a chunk with a lot of geometry it taxes the system considerably. That isn't necessarily a flaw in the game but a biproduct of having very large and detailed structures in your game. alsofor some people please understand... server load and internet connection should not effect framerate
  15. ram is cheap and a good place to start
  16. i sell lots of medium armor on the gtn, screw the npc's buy from me
  17. my friend runs it bootcamped off his macbook pro and is a very high end model, he does have framerate issues a lot though
  18. when i was in beta playing a sage, operative ws the only class I feared. the knockdown out of stealth with the stun follower was just devastating, i'd never survive that combo unless i had break free and jedi sprint up. Operative is a great assassination type class.
