  1. Is he going to have to purchase a windows cd? Or do you have a good source for instructions on how to do this for free.
  2. Have you personally done this? If he's going to do this he's going to have to go buy a copy of windows so I just want to make sure it's something that has worked for others first before I recommend this to him.
  3. Sorry, I didn't see a tech support forum so I didn't know where I could accurately post this but here goes. Does anyone out there know someone or they themselves run SWTOR on a mac? My buddy just purchased the game expecting it to run using VM Fusion (windows emulator) like every other made for pc game that he has but to no prevail. He says that it loads the game but once hes in the open world all he can see are his action bars and health bars and that's it. Does anyone know a way to make this game run well on a Macbook Pro? If so please contact me back. Thank you!
  4. I had the same exact issue and I was BAFFLED because I have an Nvidia 560Ti graphics card which isnt the BEST but its certainly above average. I ran The Witcher 2, BF3, and Crysis 2 on HIGH and got over 60 fps NP. I finally got so sick of the 15-20 fps that I went to the local retailer purchased a new pc (Asus 8gb Ram, i5 processor and threw my 560 ti in there) and whadayaknow...75 fps..constantly. I dont know what kind of video card you have if you have one at all but a lot of people overlook their cpu. Might be time to upgrade
  5. Awesome post you pretty much nailed it. That "X" factor where even though the formula is the same the feeling you get while your playing varies and your WOW was my Diablo 2. I know I love MMOs I really do but I think based on your explanation of class specific quests and story driven experiences will finally make me stick to one for a couple years and not constantly peek over my monitor at the next best thing like I have been since I stopped playing D2 years ago. Happy holidays!
  6. Thank you for your honesty. I mean from videos and UI and keymapping I see that A LOT IS more of the same, but theres a special element I think in certain games that goes beyond that even beyond story that I cant quite explain. I'm hoping I have finally found what I am looking for and if not the search continues. Thanks to everyone for posting a reply so soon!
  7. I hope so I know they took a cinematic approach which is good because tbh I don't think I've read more than 2 lines of quest text in any game in my life lol and thank you for the feedback
  8. I just want to start by saying I'm not in lol. December 11th pre-order but very excited nonetheless. As much as I want to play like everyone else I am great full for any early access at all and would like to discuss something while I wait patiently. That being said here goes. I've purchased and played almost every single MMO that has launched since WOW. DCUO, AoC, WAR, Rift even Gods & Heroes (lmao epic fail) and I am always chasing something that I've lost confidence exists called HOOKED (Sound familiar I bet there will be plenty of others who are chasing this as well) What I'm basically here to ask is, what do you think will make SWTOR give us that original OMG I can not stop playing this game, never a dull moment, grinds feel epic, just want that amazing weapon type feeling back since I don't remember personally feeling that since Diablo 2 (Not an MMO i know but still an RPG) and only at short bursts with WOW. What do you guys think will make SWTOR the refreshing new experience we all crave. What will set it apart from all the other wanna be wow MMOs that are just fun for a week maybe 2 tops then more of the same style games. I was never a huge star wars fan, so I'm asking those of you who have researched this game and know maybe more than I do on what makes it special. Thank you in advance.
  9. Anyone else notice it now says "play the game before 12/20" instead of play up to 5 days early? I for one noticed that it says UP TO 5 days early but pre-ordered it and passed on the physical copy for the sole purpose of playing it UP TO 5 days early which to me meant possibly 5 probably 4, 3 if there are huge problems but definitely no less or the ad might seem misleading to people. Now that they changed it to play before 12/20 i feel like its too little too late for me at least and just took a dump on my confidence that indeed we December pre orders have little to no chance of getting more than 24 hours of EGA.
  10. I might have to take you up on that! haha but your confidence gives me hope thank you kind sir
  11. Thank you all for the responses. Honestly just the fact that 25 replies were sent gives me hope to enjoying an mmo that isn't full of immature people just itching to be jerks to each other WOW am i releaved....WOW hint hint. Anyway that kind of sucks because I'm not usually one to pre order I just did because of the headline of playing up to 5 days early. It seems like false advertising to me if there's no shot. If it depends on server stability etc I understand no one can accurately predict it but it drew my impulse reflex to see playing the game immediately or I would have loved to wait and get a physical version of the game. Oh well you live and learn. Thanks a million to everyone who responded.
  12. Curious. I pre-ordered a few days ago hoping to get in the early access but do you guys know if that was a fruitful effort? Do I have a shot at getting into the early access period over the next couple days or are they going to let me in the night before launch at 8 p.m. and pretend that's acceptable lol. Thanks:)
