  1. Thats the base amount of damage it will do. The tooltip doesnt take into account an enemy's armor or defenses.
  2. I have been playing both. From what I've played, they do differ quite a bit in how they are played. Enough, at least for me, to justify playing both.
  3. You got to level 50 on Jan 1st? You must have played almost nonstop from the first day of early access.
  4. its like I've said from the beginning. You cannot balance the two on the same ruleset. It does not, and will not *ever* work. The only way you can balance class abilities for pve and pvp is to be able to adjust both independently, like they did in EQ2. Thats the only game that I've played so far to ever get it right.
  5. There's really not any right or wrong here. That item would have been good for a couple of his companions, so maybe thats why he wanted it. I doubt it would have went to waste. That being said, its better to lay out loot rules in your groups before the loot drops, less surprises that way. And if people insist on being jerks, well, there are lists for that, just add em to it and dont group with em again.
  6. All I can say is you are doing it wrong. Marauder is one of those types of classes that require the correct abilities to be used in conjunction with one another and sometimes careful timing for the best dmg output. I would suggest playing rage spec at least while you level. That's what I play as, and I havent had any issues at or above your level.
  7. As far as I've seen in game, that's the status quo. Most stun-type abilities dont seem to work on anything other than regulars and sometimes silvers.
  8. After witnessing many of these threads, and doing the datacrons in game for myself, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that the players whining about datacrons are the same people that cant grasp the concept of "dont stand in the fire". Given that, these complaints can be safely swept under the darkest corner of the desk with no further concern.
  9. Dont even really need the appearance tab with modable armor, just need to fix that system for end game. But the textures? oh yea, they need to put those back asap. Its just utterly fing stupid that they removed them as a graphical option. The high res textures were there in beta all the way up until the early access client was released, even during the stress test.
  10. It really wouldnt take much effort to bring modable gear up to par with the end game stuff. And there's no reason it couldnt be done in conjunction with making new content. Neither has to suffer for the sake of the other (unlike my marriage)
  11. You couldn't be more wrong on all counts. The hardcore are the bane of the mmo genre, and always have been. Any developer will tell you that.
  12. Yeah, actually it is. Which is why alot of players in other mmos do just that when they run out of end game content in those games.
  13. SWG ended for a reason. This isnt a sandbox, nor is it going to be.
  14. Meh, even EQ isnt that hard anymore. Not like it was in it's heyday anyhow. I picked it back up for a few months prior to SWTOR's release. Levelling in EQ is ridiculously easy now, at least in comparison to what it used to be.
  15. Yeah, we arent talking old school NES games here, where one mis-timed press of a button could set you all the way back to the beginning of a game, no matter how much time and effort you had put in up to that point. Many of those games had to be "mastered". MMO's are a far, far cry from that level of mastery. I could only imagine the crying and whining you would see on forums if MMOs required that kind of skill to "win" at.
  16. I'm with you on that one. I absolutely loathe instanced battleground crap, and arenas made it worse. I played pvp in EQ and EQ2. No battlegrounds, only world pvp, and it could happen anywhere at any time. When me and my guild got bored between raid times during WoLK, I would try to organize Stormwind raids. Take about 6-10 of us (and anyone in org chat who wanted to go), and go take over the SW auction house for awhile (Alliance used it as their main trade hub on my server). Great fun, and we found it to be quite the defensible structure. We'd try to hold it as long as we could before Alliance got enough people in there to clear us out. We held it indefinitely with only 6 of us one Saturday night. We ended up getting bored and left after crushing wave after wave of them.
  17. What you are describing here happens in most mmos, and most of their expansion packs. Some players race to level cap (which isnt hard these days, nothing like oldschool EQ or lineage) Then they race to complete end game content. Then they complain that there is nothing to do. Seen it many times, in many games. Generally, when I get to that point, thats when I take a break from the game, and come back when more content has been released. They're never going to be able to crap out content at the rate hardcores can consume it. Blizz couldnt do it, and still cant do it. And with the resources they have behind WoW, if they cant do it, then you can bank on pretty much no one else being able to either. The only times I have seen games keep up with the hardcores is by introducing artificial barriers to progression, such as keying, insane levelling curves, alternate advancement systems, etc... Then players complain about treadmills. Its seriously a no win situation for any MMO company.
  18. They wouldn't get bashed if they didn't act like they were gods gift to gaming. Most "gamers" I've talked to who game on those types of laptops have the pretentious attitude that gos along with the high price tag. (similar to mac owners now that I think about it.)
  19. Not long enough. They are still overpriced, heavy, and battery life is a joke. But they are the only game in town if you really have to game on the go :/ Its a far better (and less expensive) option to build a desktop for gaming, unless you absolutely need the portability.
  20. When a roll comes up, if its something my comp can use, I wait until everyone else has rolled to see if anyone needs it. If they don't, I roll need and tell the group that its for my comp, and I will defer to any mains that need it. Problem solved.
  21. Republic side *IS* carebear.... what did you expect?
  22. Absolutely not, it would be a waste of development time. A far better option would be creating a 64-bit client. It would perform far better.
  23. Stop blaming the devs that YOU have a garbage computer and internet connection. This aspect of the game is absolutely fine, alot of fun, and a break from the norm of MMOs
  24. You would have known there werent enough players on your side LONG before you got to the high 40s or 50. Fail on your part.
