  1. Then they must have changed it back, or it's bugged. Posts dating to 2013 still mention insane waits, and I spent nearly 5hrs killing her placeholders today. Perhaps, like the Yozusk on DK that is required for the lore entry, and has periods where it never spawns, until it is once again fixed, Martinique needs to be looked at?
  2. First, let me say I don't mind camping for certain things. Having said that, there is a difference between camping, mans wasting 10+hours waiting. It' s less of an issue where new content is concerned, because many of the mobs are so frequently camped and killed, that the rare spawns spawn more frequently. But with older content, that's rarely the case. Two mobs come to mind: Martinique Desler, and the three grophets on Rishi (so 4 mobs if you want to be technical). The grophets aren't TOO bad, but the wait can be aggravated by players tagging the spawn even if you were "there first", and though I never waited more than 3hours for one, I hear some players still wait 5+hours. Yes, they're required for the sweet datacron, but I think upping the spawn from 5% is overdue. That's still better than Martinique Desler though. Her placeholder is less HER placeholder, and more like a placeholder, for a placeholder, for a placeholder...ad infinitum. It's time to increase her chance of spawning as well. Nothing drastic, but a nice 5-10% chance that eliminates the ten hour waits. The speeder would still be rare, especially because Cz-198 is almost always vacant, but it wouldn't be maddeningly tedious to acquire. Another solution, would be to add a chance of acquiring the speeder from the assistant, though that drop rate should be kept low. I've played many many MMOS, but never one where a mobs' placeholder might spawn another placeholder for more than 2-3 hours. I urge the devs to revisit spawn rates involving placeholders in older content. Or come up with alternatives to camping that still require time and effort.
  3. I just saw that the cm currently has what seems like every pack ever available. I'd like items from some of these, but budget constraints prevent me going nuts. will they be around until the launch of Empire? Beyond that? Does anyone know?
  4. I posted a suggestion about this as well. But it's not a Pubs vs Imps thing. It's an unscupulous camping players issue. Make them BoP, and make the egg clickable by multiple players for a bit - a longer spawn time, if you will. Another idea is limiting the number of these a player can have (and by have I mean anywhere in his/her inventory or bank). I don't think EVERYONE should have this pet, though I do think that everyone that WANTS it should have a fairer shot at it.
  5. Pre 1.2 I was against. Post, I agree. The changes made to some classes have affected players negatively in some ways. I think it's only fair to give players a chance to change the AC. I made an informed decision with mine at launch. 1.2 has brought some detrimental changes. I'd like the option to make that informed decision anew.
  6. Ok..so on Canderous Ordo, this player camps them. He snags them repeatedly with no regard for players who have eaited for long periods. Some, myself included, have even asked him to just forego ONE egg, but he declines. he's gotten two from me (yes, sure..he clicked faster), and at least 1 from 3 other players I know of, and others have mentioned his name, so it seems he amassing them. That said, this is frustrating many players who want the egg, for the actual pet, and not to sell for 400k. To prevent this, I suggest making the eggs either BoA or BoP, and/or limit it to 1 egg per player per day (maybe even per few days). Another idea would be to have something similar to some of the rare pet vendors on WoW: They spawn, are there for 5-10mins, and during that time, anyone present can click and get an egg. Combined with making them BoP, this would give all the players that actually want the eggs for pets, a chance at them, without having to contend with campers. I don't at all mind losing out on an egg to a player I know will hatch it, and am happy for them when I see them with their orokeet later. But when I see the same player selling egg after egg, it burns me to know I was too slow on a click, and lost to that kind of player. Just some thoughts on how to make things better, BW. And you should also consider that some of these campers are likely selling them for creds, to sell to players via "gold farming" sites.
  7. I agree with the OP in one respect: For the effort that goes into this..the loot is CRAP. But I also have to say it isn;t just challenging, it requires a specific group combination. So in effect, it's less about "skill" than having the right classes. 2 ranged for the first boss =cakewalk. Throw melee in there, and then the skill factor kicks in. But then, if they arent REALLY well geared, no matter HOW much skill you have, it's unreasonably difficult for a 4man HM FP. But my main beef is with the loot. Come on BW..you want to "challenge" us with this new FP, at least reward us accordignly. Black hole comms, and columi tokens. Keep your crystals, ty.
  8. How many times have I seen it stated that HK in Foundry is fixed? Well, YET again, he bugged on us today. Malgus fight in FE? Yeah..it still randomly just kicks players from the instance. Staying stuck in combat without engaging mobs in Foundry,, so on, so forth. All these things should be fixed. Some were reportedly fixed (many times accod=rding to patchnotes), but still... And though I love Lost Island, and the mechanics, the lvl of the fights is closer to OP lvl, than HM FP. We struggle through it (not the mechanics), because we JUST suqeeze in enough DPS, healing, and damage mit due to having SOME Rakata gear. We shouldn't need to be fully geared in Rakata for this HM FP. It needs to be retooled so the mechanics are challenging, as they are now, rather than challenging AND a gear check. I know people who refuse to run it with a group that is 90% rakata geared. On a side note.... please decide on speeders. Have them, don't have them, but having them in useless places (BT needs speeders?), and NOT having them in others, is illogical. Have them bloody everywhere. It's annoying enough to have to run across big maps, moreso when you die to a boss (not due to lack of skill, but one of the many annoying bugs, like premature enrages) and have to wait through LONG load times, and run...again. The 1.2 content is leaving me very indifferent to the game, and the seeming lack of desire to fix and change things (and the sometimes snarky replies from GMs), are not helping things. I had HIGH hopes for SWTOR. Brought many friends here, and have a great guild...that is losing members because of all the issues. I'd love to stay, and see things get fixed, and enjoy the game. I'll grind dailies, run HM FPS daily, and sit around exploding from Rakghoul disease a while longer..but not indefinitely. Fix the game
  9. So, for the second time since 1.2, we cleared EV HM. Both times, the loot was a disaster, We ran it in 8man, with a mix of warrs, Inqs, some BHs, and no IAs (our reg raid group). Both times, the loot from each boss/chest consisted of duplicates of an item for 1-1 class (i.e. rakata boots for IAs), and the same for another class (meaning we had, in one drop tonight, 2 boots for warrs, 2 gloves for inqs), crystals (of course), mats, schematics, and the usual rest. This happened for EVERY boss/chest, both times we ran it, meaning alot of people didn't get squat, and others got doubles. BAD loot tables. Pre 1.2, we had a variety that covered many classes. Please revert to this, or fix it if it's a bug. As it is, we may have to spend a month or more, running HM OPs to gear our members, only to have a large number often be excluded, and others having so much gear, as to have nothing better to do than use it for companions. I won't mention the bugs that STILL persist in some OPs and HM FPs. That's for another post.
  10. If wishes were fishes. I love my many homes and manors in EQ2, full of cool things. I loved my houses and ships in SWG (most of my ships double as second homes as well. Why can't we have this in SWTOR? They're only NOW returning a feature that allows you to "customize" your gear (if by customize, you mean make it all the same colour as your chest piece), and they just added customizable UIs and guildbanks. All things that, in most other MMOs, are there at launch. They have YET to fix countless boss bugs in FPs, OPs, daily quests, etc. They were GOING to add dual spec, but pushed it back. You can buy a mailbox and GTN (a neutral one at that) for your ship, to be placed in a static, pre-determined location. Now..do you really think, for the BioWare team at least, that devising a way to furnish a ship, and beyond that, place furniture where you choose using x, y, and z axis, is simple? Not to be mean, but don't hold your breath. If you want that, try EQ2. I still enjoy it. As for ships and player housing. Maybe in the very near future, when the population halves from what it is now, they MAY consider instanced housing to lure players back. I don't EVER see them making it as truly custumizable as SWG, or EQ2 stuff, though. At best. I envision for player housing, what I imagine will be the case for guild ships: premade sets of furniture to choose from for specific rooms. And I don't see any of THAT coming for at LEAST a year.
  11. Bring back the games worth spending hours, days..WEEKS exploring, and those players will return. I've been gaming for ages. I could lose myself in SWG, can and do still go wander EQ2, loved to search the nooks and crannies in CoH/CoV. Butit's not the gamers, it's the games. They're cranked out rapidly, designed to appeal to the broadest possible market (and can you blame them? They need to make money), and rake in as much cash, as quickly as possible, before something new and more interesting comes along. This isn't only the evolution of the MMO (and I'm not saying that's a good thing), this is the evolution of life. It's a new consumer mindset where things like phones, TVs, Computers, consoles and so forth, get replaced yearly. MMOs are no longer designed to last 6years. Some games will endeavour to cater to the adventurers among us (Rift had many cool things and places to find, puzzles to solve, etc.), but just as many will not. And they will have shlf-lives of 2-3yrs tops before going completely f2p, and being forgotten. I hope SWTOR isn't one, but I only see it headed in that direction.
  12. Yep. I love mods. I love to customize my game so it feels right for me. Some hate mods, some love mods, some think mods are cheating, some think mods are lazy. Regardless of what people think, the fact remains that they're a choice. I like DPS meters, mouseover macros, bag organizers...stuff like that. Not everyone does. But for those that don't, I say don't use them. But don't begrudge their use either. As long as people are cool about it, and they don't start becoming prereqs for raiding or joining guilds, I see no problem, and hope to see them in game soon. Though, if wishes were fishes.... I'll just be happy when they FINALLY implement dual spec..that was at one point, destined for 1.2
  13. I worked in the entertainment industry for 15 years. Both industries are VERY similar. A prop over budget, a day over schedule..these things started massive **** storms. Because they cost money. The average investor, with so few stocks in his portfolio (that he likely doesn't manage himself), is not likely to care. Those with larger stakes well..do you think they're philanthropists who buy stocks as a hobby and don't care if they gain or lose value? Naw, they get red-in-the-face, high-blood-pressure mad at losses. And yeah, the DOW has been down. The world's major economies (Save China and India) aren't doing so well. Still doesn't change the fact that investors weren't told about a decision that would cost them money, however insignificant. Trust me. Someone got/is getting shouted at over this, and there are going to be job vacancies.
  14. Let me put this in easy-to-understand terms. What the OP is hinting at is this: Shareholders in EA weren't told about some decisions that have a huge bearing on the value of their stocks (as in giving away playing time). This shocked and angered them, and shook their confidence. Stocks loss value as a result. What does this all mean? SWTOR is not the WoW-killing cash-cow it was hoping for, after most likely having touted it as such to investors. Upset investors, lower stocks, servers becoming ghost-towns, and MANY players currently disgruntled (and many more gone in the next few weeks, I predict). All of this spells trouble. I can almost guarantee that some EA execs are angrily berating the BW team nad shking things up with threats about job-losses unless things smooth out and fast. If they grow completely dissatisfied with SWTOR, they may even try to sell it off, though they're more likely to just ramp up an F2P scenario if server populations continue to evaporate. It's amazing what a stock hitting a low, even for 5 minutes, can do.
  15. You're right. You're not that familiar with the game. Sure, at endgame, in between HM FPs and OPs (if you're not bored to tears with farming both by now, as my guild is), you can do dailies. Did I say do? I meant grind. WHAT FUN! So, if you have the time and inclination to do so, yeah, you can pull in 200k+ daily. Nothing some buggy runs in EV, HM EV, KP, HM KP won't quickly gobble up in repair costs (repair costs are to be expected, but frequent wipes due to bugged bosses that should have been fixed ages ago are annoying and costly.). I do dailies almost daily, just to have repair creds kicking around. That said, there should be costs asociated with removing mods, but something more reasonable. And all the new legacy "perks" that cost between 200k and several mil? I'll be playing Tera soon, rather than get further into grind-mode with this game. Not even going to bother with the mailbox, repair bot, NEUTRAL (seriously???) GTN, etc. It's not just the screw-ups with 1.2, things happen with patches. It's the content that was announced, then pulled, the realization AFTER the fact that Legacy was going to cost as much as it does, the ongoing, unresolved bugs in FPs, OPs, daily missions, and the substandard customer service. Peopel are entitled to keep playing, and many no doubt will. I see SWTOR going F2P in less than 2 years, easy. I have standards though, and SWTOR isn't currently meeting them. As I had been looking forward to this game since 2008, I'm disappointed, and likely to leave after the novelty of the minimal 1.2 content has worn off.
