  1. Guardian/Juggernaut is really busy. A lot of people's problems with it is you have to pay attention, but that's what I like. I would rather work at keeping aggro than settle into a class that just does it without problems.
  2. The legacy rewards currently provide for completing different characters from different species. My suggestion is to add a bonus for completing two or more characters from the same species. So having two humans reach level 50 will provide an extra buff as well. Currently I'm trying to play all of the species at once to unlock each in Legacy, but then I won't have any slots to actually use that Legacy species on a cross faction/class character. I understand in the future we'll have extra character slots, but getting a small buff from having two Zabrak would be nice and encourage role-playing.
  3. Here is the hybrid I use: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500GMG0uZcGrMMhzzMZ0M.1 Its a 16/23/2 build. I use this for tanking in PVE and for PVP. You don't get the highest DPS, but I still get about 150k DPS a match but still with 150k-200k protection. I prefer guarding people as well, but you still want some damage to kill the attackers. You can tweak this a little, but it works for both roles for me.
  4. I've been running a hybrid of 16/23/2 http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500GMG0uZcGrMMhzzMZ0M.1 I used a hybrid before that worked with tanking and PVP and thats what I was going for here as well. I don't see the point in Hilt Strike with such a long cool down and Guardian Slash requires too many points. Overhead Slash has enough DPS and a good cool down that's reduced along with Blade Storm. This gives you enough DPS to hold threat (with the boost to Force Sweep), but requires you to pay attention. I prefer it this way because I can still do some damage and I'm not completely roped into tanking alone. I also prefer Commanding Awe over Blade Barrier since we still don't have conclusive damage reduction on it and it doesn't scale, but with Commanding Awe I get a set amount I can count upon while also reducing the CD on Awe for CC purposes. Haven't tested this on any HM's but it works fine on World Bosses and I've been doing typically 150k damage in PVP with 150k-200k protection. EDIT: One last note, I take Unremitting because I Guardian Leap and Force Leap in and out of boss fights for some slight damage reduction. Also helps when jumping into fights in PVP.
  5. They didn't populate on one of my characters until I check my mail and then they showed up, otherwise I haven't had any issues with the 10 or so characters I've made.
  6. If you don't want to do the same quests I would suggest re-rolling as the other faction. I've been leveling my Jedi Guardian steadily but wanted a break. Started a Smuggler but didn't like playing the same quests, outside of story of course, so I started a Bounty Hunter. I've enjoyed all my characters though.
  7. No way to expand it right now, hopefully a UI update will be coming, but hovering over the purple icon does work.
  8. Quests and killing mobs are the only way. Don't worry about it too much though. When I was done I still had 50 something left over. By the time you get as many as you need its time to move on to the next planet.
  9. The Neutral GTN is on Nar Shaddaa in the plaza. You can travel there as soon as you have a ship. I list white items for crazy amounts if I need to transfer money between alts. Otherwise, just do what the above posts suggest and you can move items back and forth.
  10. I skipped almost every quest on Tatooine and managed to do Alderaan just fine so I know what you're talking about. The only thing that really bugs me is doing space missions and PVP level you up so much. I felt bad because I wanted to be the same level as the quests. I quickly got over it though. I'm currently going back through and completing quests. Sure, there isn't any challenge in mobs 10 levels below me but I love the story.
  11. Leap > Sunder > Sweep > Bladestorm I do the Sunder first just to get it recharging to stack it again ASAP and also to give the group a moment to pull in for the sweep.
  12. I've been enjoying artifice but Biochem has the biggest application for end game crafting. However, that can change and most people realize that fact so it might not be as useful in the coming months. For now, having re-usable medpacks is unbeatable.
  13. The - and ' make all the difference in the world. I used to fret over naming since its how people in the world will really know you, but I stopped worrying about it at some point. If you want something lore friendly then just look up a name generator or take one of their suggested ones. Don't waste 3 hours on a name when you could be playing the game!
  14. Nothing so far, but I agree with you completely.
  15. Also, I just want Kel Dor. Easy for voice acting since they always wear a mask! Simple!
  16. They did an interview the other day (sorry too lazy to link it), but the short answer is: immersion. They wanted humanoid species so you would "connect" easier. Also, facial animations. Trying to do a slew of animations for every different species would be ridiculous. Who knows, they might release some new species in the future but it would take a lot of work to basically remake all the voice acting for a new species. Also, they pretty much nixed Wookies completely. I believe the wording was: "Part of what makes Wookies great is their mystery. Being able to play a Wookie would take that away."
  17. I checked all over for it as well. Unfortunately its not in the game yet. I just like clicking on something so I have a minute or two to relax while my toon runs. That being said, I'm not sure it would work well anyways even if they did have it. The follow command (basically the same mechanic) causes you to get stuck every few feet so I'd rather not have it than be disappointed.
  18. Its already in the game under your keybinds. Target Targets Target. I've got it set to my mouse so I can jump back and forth.
  19. BH gets their healer right off the bat, but it doesn't matter. I've done fine without Doc and still don't really need him. Besides, you can gear the droid that comes with your ship and he can heal just fine. Bioware made him available since so many people cried about healers in beta.
  20. Prices are only valid if people are willing to pay them. Sure, there are a few rich people but it really boils down to the majority. The rest of us have our meager 20k credits and we'll spend them accordingly. I'm sure Bioware will take action against any using the exploits. It won't be hard to find them, anyways.
  21. No way to turn it off. I do a mix of PVE and PVP so I can stay geared and keep the story going but get my PVP fix. This results in me being a bit higher than the quests I'm doing but I've learned to just do those for the story and not the EXP gain. Its really easy to level up in this game so I'm not too worried about it all.
  22. Honestly I've enjoyed every class I've played except for Smuggler/Agent just cause I can't get used to the cover mechanics. I love playing my BH more than anything just cause of the story so I would put my vote towards that. Honestly, any of them are a good choice and I'm sure you'll end up playing them all at some point.
  23. Trooper or Jedi Knight will both be good. They can both spec tank or DPS except Trooper has his own heals. Because of the heals I would pick Trooper since you're brand new. Mine seems to be a lot easier than my Knight to play so its a bit more relaxing. It should be a nice starting point.
  24. Being a Jedi Knight I noticed most Darkside choices eliminate extra work for me. I'm playing light and keep having to do extra stuff for people but when playing with my brother and he chooses darkside and wins we always skip a bunch of other objectives. Seems like they really want to tempt a Jedi to be evil.
