  1. Going from custom gear to Columni is a massive drop in crit chance (and some surge for that matter). It's been replaced with Acc/Power. Now you gain some of it back when you hit Rakata, but it still doesn't really compare to how high you can get with custom gear. That being said, I do dearly miss having high 40ish crit (I think I'm down to low 30s when just rocking my personal buff), but all in all tacking on power over a long fight does help...I think.

This of course is very hard to judge w/ no combat log, but one of the biggest things that did piss me off was losing crit/surge going from the Columi to Rakata offhand.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something in your post - why aren't you farming the enhancements you need? If rakata comes with ****, and we all know it does, replace it with decent enhancements. Farm KuS and BfI and BP for those delicious Assault enhancements.

I don't think I have a single piece of Rakata (and I'm only missing chest) that doesn't have farmed enhancement and mods to replace the junk they started with.

  2. It really doesn't need fixing 'that badly'. It's a TINY increase in healing.

I'm a medic op and a bit of extra healing always is rawrsome, but trying to claim it as some class breaking game destroying bug is ridiculous. A fix would be nice but if I have to wait a month for it I'm not gonna pop a lung or start wiping raids due to lack of heals ..

  3. Actually, many top guilds/clans in many games (not just MMO's) are invite only.

    Just saying.

    Just saying, no, they aren't.

Pick any game and you'll find cutting edge guilds who require you to apply on their forum. That's the way it's done in games like this. That's how applying to raiding guilds in MMORPG's works. It's been like this for over a decade.

  4. depands what content you want. If you want to compete for top in world first kills in future content - thats how thimgs are.

I'm sorry, but no competetive 'world first' guild sends guild invites. If people want to join them they apply on the forums, the same way every decent raiding guild works.

Guilds that spam general looking for players don't tend to be serious raiding guilds.

  5. There are other posts about this, doing a search might be a good idea. Anyways, this is my hybrid conceal/medic spec for PvE. It would be different for pvp, but the point spread would be similar. If they ever fix Medical Therapy, I would definitely add another 2 points at least to the med tree.

I'm just completely confused as to why you are wasting 4 points on 10% shiv damage and +25% chance for corrosive dart to tick twice, when you've got much better stuff to spend it on in the concealment tree :o

  6. Well, first things first, get your skill points out of alacrity and put them into lethality. Alacrity will do you more harm than good if you don't know how to manage energy efficiently, and you'll never manage energy well if you're using RN anyway.

How are you healing the dps? Direct Kolto Injection + Surgical Probe? Or are you keeping KI on the tank and just blasting dps with Surgical Probe? Are you trying to use Kolto Probes / Nanotech to keep them healed? If so, there's your energy problems. Stop using probes and nanotech on the dps and manage their health with KI+SP.

As for the heals themselves, you didn't answer what secondary stats you're using. If you're not using crit+surge your heals will be lacklustre. Is your gear oranges with decent 48+ mods in all the slots? Implants/Ear should be whatever the best crafted you can afford is.

Run the daily quests in Belsavis and Ilum every day and those will give you armoring+mod+enhancement every day, one week and you'll be geared for hard modes.

  7. What gear are you using and why are you needing to use Diagnostic Scan?

What's your talent tree look like? Are you trying to use Nanotech as a main heal?

What kind of HPs were the people you were grouped with?

What secondary stats are you prioritising, crit+surge or something else?

  8.

From what I've seen of good healing ops, they keep Nano up as much as possible (especially in tight fights). And getting Tac Advantage is so easy as a medic, I don't possibly see how you can say that a +15% on the lowest cost heal is a bad thing...not to mention just the gear + Accomplished Doctor 3/3 raises the crit of that ability to 45%.

Acomplished Doctor does not increase crit chance.

I'm a healing operative - I don't have nanotech, nor do many ops I know on my server. Those that do don't keep it up fulltime because it's energy cost sucks ***. I don't use infusion or even have it on my bars because, again, it's worthless once you have SP.

I use 2 rakata enforcer for the +15% backstab crit chance and the rest is mismatch. The rest of the set bonuses blow.

  9. so while having extra crits is nice, it's not extremely beneficial to us.

You'll stop thinking like that if you ever switch to critsurge build, because every other heal/hit will crit.

Chaining 6k+3k direct heals forever without losing energy is awesome.

  10. If you're serious about PVE you'll be doing the same as every other class and be going for crit+surge before everything else (except tanks). The difference it makes in PVE and raids is incredible.

Power is a distant third secondary stat once you're self buffing to 42-ish% crit and 85% crit multiplier. It doesn't give a good enough return to be taken over crit or surge. There's a reason there's no cap on power: its benefit sucks.

  11. I thought leveling as medic was pretty fast. Didn't have to pay attention to much of anything and trash/strong/elite were all easily killable by starting combat with a grenade or something and just turtling/healing/afking, was never any planning needed unless it was a heroic mission or a champion. Stuff just got ran over and then on to the next pull as the first were being cleaned up by companion. It was fun being unkillable. And being able to solo heroics/random champ mobs helped overcome the 'grind' feeling.
